Thomas Tuchel | Gone to & from Bayern (In Summer)

Just seeing this. Unbelievable! What is even going on over there? Why spend so much money just to get rid of the manager 1 week after the window closed?

Would be something if our job came up, then Chelsea job and he can't get either. Poch for Leicester or Brighton.

For me the PSG stint showed that he can't really create a dominant, positive team, so if that's what the powers that be at a club are looking for then they may very well pass him by.

Mental decision but knowing Chelsea they will probs win the league or UCL or something with the new coach

Happy to see the new owners having a cool head and not charging in revolvers blazing yelling 'Yeehaaaaw'!

Wow totally ruthless!, even more so than Roman I think. Granted we've been dire this season. The wins against Leicester and West Ham relying on VAR decisions essentially. Xg v West Ham terrible.

Plus we massively overpaid for players in the transfer window and I think we've mismanaged Lukaku and Werner. We've certainly not been better going forward without them, that is for sure.

This model clearly works for them - look at what they've won with the manager always 2 or 3 games from the sack model compared to anyone but City in the same time?
Worked for Roman and his team. Time will tell for this group. I won't hold my breath.

Chelsea is only 3 points off top 4, it is harsh for Tuchel.

BTW, IIRC, it is the 12th time Chelsea has part way with a manager in the past 15 seasons, each manager lasts 1.25 seasons on average!

Easily 3rd best manager of the league I was told by many here last here, the second coming. That went well

Hope potter stays clear of this, he deserves a job with long term vision that won't hurt his career progression

It's not the results that will have seen him sacked, but it will be his attitude and personality behind the scenes. He has fallen out with the people above him at Mainz, Dortmund and PSG.

Yeah I agree there’s things going on behind the scenes for sure

Last nigh when I heard the result, I was going to jump on here and jokingly ask whether Tuchel would go that same night or this morning - pointing out that Abramovich would have done it within an hour. But I'm really surprised this lot has done it so soon... I guess they wanted their own man all along. Not a great deal of guys free right now. Poch? Someone in europe I haven't thought of?

I wonder when they are going to bing in a "transfer" window for managers too - expect to hear from Richard Bevan (chief exec League Managers Assoc) on this pretty soon

to be fair, I think everyone falls out with the suits as PSG - said for ages that I think they are a pretty poor club (not financially obviously)

There's an article on Telegraph that says that Boehly wants to build a long term culture and Tuchel was just not showing enough cooperation in those aspects. Not wanting to be involved in the search for sporting director etc. It also mentions that the team owned by Boehly in America has a manager for last 7-8 years and has signed an extension.

is Simeone a possibility? he goes in for that building for long term future bit...

You'd think Chelsea are in the relegation zone or are already out of the CL. He is a good manager and could have turned it around, unless he himself believed that's infeasible and walked away. But to sack him is a lunacy. He stood with the club in trying times and this is his reward? Joke of a club. Hope they get Ted Lasso now.

He'd be a fool to leave Brighton, especially for a club that still appears to be pretending it's Abramovich's puppet.

People say this but it would be a massive pay rise and a chance to manage a top 4 club. Yeah there's greater risk of getting the sack there but it might be a once in a lifetime opportunity for him. I think he'd be a fool not to take it if offered.

Who was exactly targeting players like Aubameyang and the Napoli defender guy?

I hear Fat Sam and Peter Reid are looking for work

Maybe Lumpard would like a second go... or give Jose it for the 15th time

You could tell with how the summer transfer window had gone for them that behind the scenes all must not have been well. There did not appear to be any cohesive transfer strategy and if anything they appeared to just try and hijack other deals their rivals were trying to do. Not a good sign. Then the start of the season - Spurs game aside when they really upped their game and did well - they have been really poor. I am surprised to see Tuchel sacked so early in the season but the writing was on the wall and I thought it was likely to happen before Christmas if things didn't improve.

It was asking too much of Tuchel given how involved he was with the transfer window. Not sure what long term culture he's going to build spending 300m on purchasing players who Tuchel likes but the new manager may not. Or were these purchases solely of Boehly's discretion?

Chelsea is the club to go to for a quick fat pay off.

He's above Klopp right now. Is Klopp not second best manager in the PL?

Surely you're not going to use the Chelsea board as some form of sane footballing body? :D
