They are 5 points off top and 2 points behind united. won them the CL too.
What a rash decision.
What a rash decision.
Oh no! Third best manager in the league according to some poster on Redcafe is gone. In the end, he was nothing but De Matteo version 2.
Everyone frightened about them getting Potter but this is a different level altogether. I don’t see a Potter appointment much different to us hiring David Moyes. No guarantee of success at all.
I wish he'd stfu, this was the same prat that wanted Ole to be given more time, had we acted as quickly, h.we might not have allowed that clown to waste hundreds of millions which a proper manager could have done wit
Chelsea looked shite in every department, now watch Potter come in and turn it around, then we'll be asking how Chelsea seem to fix their mess so quickly.
yes there is, they can refuse to discuss anything with Chelsea. In this case Potter will be jeopardising his relation with the club and the fans of Brighton. There's no decision at all on Brighton's side if there is a buyout clause.
Potter got the "Proven in the PL" badge, though.Potter’s stock has surged ridiculously from this thread. He’s a good manager for Brighton but there’s a world of difference between doing it for Brighton and doing it for Chelsea. Is Todd willing to make such a huge risk? Us taking ETH is a considerable risk but this is a much bigger risk.

I like Nev as a pundit, but has he got a short memory? He seems a bit hypocritical sometimes
I feel like they're quite different and not comparable. Moyes didn't particularly have a distinct style of football that you'd consider to be a blueprint for future teams to replicate. He certainly managed to overperform with us and his best attributes were likely his man management/shrewd transfer business. Something you'd say were two of SAFs biggest qualities.
Potter is a manager that has a style of football which he's taken to each team he's been to and made excellent progress with. It's a style which is the present and future of football. It's not guaranteed success but it's more likely it works than the Moyes scenario.

Just avoid the 2025 "Hiddink Legacy" starring an out of his depth Jeremy Renner!
Yep, his league form bar the first third of last season has been ok at best. Would have finished 5th the season before if not for a Leicester collapse v Spurs and the nothingness of your league form after Christmas this year. . Maybe when he’s gone you can reassess his run of league results from a more balanced perspective.Cyberman can. That’s his thing.

Apparently last nights result had no bearing on this sacking, he was on thin ice win lose or draw. I suspect in that case the new manager is already pinpointed, and it's looking like Poch or Potter.
I think both would actually do well. People on this board were calling for Poch daily not so long back, so lets not pretend he is suddenly a poor coach, because he got sacked by PSG.

Then he isn't consistent is he? The hypocritical virtue signalling cnut. Genuinely can't stand the cnut. He's consistent though. Always calling for managers to get more time. Unless it's his own club.
according to the club journos, he was being sacked win lose or draw last night. Something behind the scenes has gone on,and looking on twitter, similar happened at psg and BVB apparently.Boehly gave the keys to Tuchel, pushed out all the other top footballing people from the club in the process, let him make the key decisions on transfers in a summer that went over 200m, then sacked him after six matches.
I think Moyes’ football was hugely underrated personally. He played good attacking stuff, especially towards the end. I don’t think every manager needs to try to invent football. This is what caused many to overlook Ancelotti’s brilliance for so long despite it literally staring them in the face.
Maybe so, and before they spent hundreds of millions. An Incompetent board maybe?Surely the manager should then have been sacked before the season started?

Why?
Spunking loads of dosh and sacking coaches. It's like Roman all over again and his time at the club was incredibly successful.
Really? I mean, you might not like him which is fair enough, but the criticism of him being overopinionated seems odd. He's got the largest platform of any pundit in the country so his word likely gets around the most, but I've never thought of him (or any pundit in general, really) as being overopinionated. He’s an over-opinionated idiot.
