Thomas Tuchel | Gone to & from Bayern (In Summer)

I'm shocked to see that they actually have 10 points from 6 games, after getting third and a UCL quarter-final last season, from the way he's been sacked you would think it was 5 from 6 or something. The performances haven't been great but still being decent results with a new squad.

Absolutely bonkers decision. :wenger: The worst one made by Chelsea by far. Tuchel is no mug manager even if things are looking shaky at the moment.

Klopp wouldn't last two minutes there. I suspect even Pep would be told to get on his bike after a few draws/losses.

Probably their model of signing players this season..and the previous (Lukaku) signings

Something isn't right with their type of signings..

Then it will be Chelsea winning this year's champions league. Congrats Blues fans.

He's not the new owners' man. I strongly expect Chelsea to continue languishing under their new owners for the next couple of seasons.

On merit and potential Potter should get the job because I think he would be excellent there. I hope they go for Poch though. I can't see him doing anything outstanding there, so there will be two benefits, firstly that Chelsea won't be up to much, and hopefully it will be the final nail in the coffin of our club's obsession with him, having seen him be fired from PSG and Chelsea.

They don't buy their players for the manager. They buy it for the team. If they are good enough they will work under the next manager as well. That's how an actual football club works.
That was correct until about 3 months ago. One of the things Tuchel was unhappy about was his greater role in identifying players since the technical staff above him were removed and the summer has seen them buy players to fit his system and style of football; for example they are now left with two £50m left backs and a striker that went there because he wanted to work with Tuchel again.

About 0.0% chance they fire the coach who brought them back into the top 4 and won them the championship league, 6 weeks into the new season after spending a gazillion pounds on players, who haven't even all started a single game yet
that went well.

Overall I'd call his league performance a flop. They never looked like challenging and always like they could get a random battering. Obviously did good to very good in cup competitions, but so many nearly moments in those too.

Shocked! ….doubt even Abramovich would have acted this fast.

They can be planning on getting a manager with the same system. Tuchel isn't the only one in the world who played with 3 at the back.

Would be something if our job came up, then Chelsea job and he can't get either. Poch for Leicester or Brighton.

Damn it. I wanted him to stay to make our top 4 chances easier.

This was the first unread post for me today :D

In terms of types of players maybe so, but not in terms of the type of person he usually goes for. He wants younger hungry players.

Does he? His team regularly includes Welbeck, Dunk, Veltman, Gross, Lallana. I think he just likes a mix of players.

They should hire Ruud Gullit. He's done it before, he's a shite manager and I don't like Chelsea. It's a win-win situation.

Well not for Chelsea, but eh.

Big shame that. New manager bounce disguised an average coach that was taking them nowhere. If they get Potter they'll have a young up and coming manager who might do well.

I think the new manager bounce he got made him a little overrated personally.

I still think he will go on and be a good coach but people were starting to talk about a top 3 with Pep and Klopp after he won the Champions League which he isn't close to.

Overrated. Not because he's a bad manager, just the level of fawning over him was ridiculous.

Well, this went exactly as predicted by the majority once he was hired.

They were massively fortunate in a few of those games and were lucky to play against Leicester who are even more useless at the moment. I've watched most of their matches this season and they've been absolutely woeful. Something wasn't right behind the scenes.

I hope they go for Poch over Potter. One is exciting, impressive and a manager clearly on the up, the other is Poch.
If they go for Poch, we can continue calling them idiots and laughing. If they get Potter somehow...yeah then not so idiotic, other than not getting him sooner.
Or Potter does a Moyes and does us an even bigger favor. Then we can laugh even more harder.

Potter won’t take the job with that absolute lunatic at the helm. Spurs or Arsenal are perfect for him and it’s only a matter of time before those jobs become available.
