Thomas Müller

Do not want. And I love having a couple of arrogant but world class players / icons at United who oppo fans hate but almost every United fans love, but in Müller's case I just can't stand his punchable face, he and Neuer annoy the hell out of me.
Great player, mind!

I don't think there is a Bayern player who is more unlikely to get than him, maybe Neuer.
We can just try to get Messi too when we are on it.

Yes but think how much that face would wind up the Scoucers, as he celebrates his hat-trick at the Kop. He would be OUR, rubber faced Teutonic tw*t. ;)

There is no way this guy is leaving, he is a marketing and media superstar for Bayern. It would be the equivalent of Scholes/Giggs leaving us

he is a 13-goals a season player - and I mean that quite litterally.

He has scored 13 League goals the last 3 seasons :)
About the same as falcao and Rvp combined this year then... Considering he is not a centre forward that's not too bad
. He probably wouldn't cost the £600k a week we are spending at the moment either

An upgrade on Fellaini in our current system then?
He would be but if we get him I think LVG will look to play a forward pointing three in midfield instead of a backward pointing one like we do now. I dont think LVG sees Herrera as deep playing midfielder so I think he would struggle for playing time if we get Muller for that role. We would also need another defensive midfielder to partner Carrick if this was the system he wanted.
Carrick New DM
Muller
Di Maria Rooney Memphis

Now we could just play him on the wing but since we already got 5 good wide players I can't see us going for another wide player with all the other gaps needed to be filled first.

That would be interesting, although a shame to leave out Herrera.

Always reminds me of this dude from Con Air:

Nick_Chinlund004018.jpg

He's a dead ringer for Rudolf Garmisch, the arrogant German Ski champ, from the film Hot Dog.

Why does everybody think he's good only because of some mysterious, hard to define intangible qualities? He's exceptionally good at almost everything a footballer should do on the pitch. The fact that none of his qualities stand out doesn't mean they're all average. He's just great at pretty much everything.
Agreed. It's such a lazy narrative that gets pushed around. He has a fantastic engine, world class positioning, adept on either foot and is about as clinical as a finisher can get. It's just because he's not very quick and lacks the supremely tidy close control many people perceive him as this accidentally great player.

I can't see a German player who is a regular for the German champions wanting to come here.

Would be a good signing though. But not happening.

One of those players that is rubbish, but his ridiculous statistics means I'm unable to prove it. I respect what he's achieved, but have never been able to get into the 'Mueller is an amazing player' club.

Anyway, he could be the type we need up top to help knit things as opposed to individual brilliance. I have a feeling Lewandowski could be gotten though, and would prefer him in a choice.

Surely there are some Bayern players who want to try their hand at another big club in a foreign league? What were assuming here is every Bayern youth product will never leave and retire as one club men.

Most of them dont want to, in the last few years there seem to be a few Germans going abroad, but not the ones at Bayern. They have everything they need there. Good city, money, titles, a starting place, good fans, family etc. If they leave, then as young players without a chance of playing regularly or past their prime. That doesnt even mean going abroad, they often stay in the BL. The only one i can remember in the last ten years was Ballack, it is a rarity.

Makes sense, I believe very few would leave the full package that Bayern München is.

I really like the guy, and would love him here, but I don't know how he would fit into the team. I don't even know what his position is, he just seems to be at the right place at the right time, all the time, he's a bit of an enigma to me.

Exactly.

What we need is an out-and-out goal scorer, not another low-scoring forward whose lack of goals can be justified by the fact he's also quite good in other positions.

What money will he be on. Offer him double & see the wheels turn.

I'm going to laugh off all rumours linking us to him, but secretly hope that we live in an upside-down universe in which that move is somehow possible.

Anything is possible. They used to say Nesta was Lazio through and through.

Please lord, no. I could never bring myself to support him. (I would)

LVG is going to confirm Manchester United's return to the top tier of world football clubs by stealing Muller away from Bayern despite Pep's panicked attempts to prevent this happening.

We will then laugh off Real's attempt to steal De Gea by tying him down to a new 12 year contract. Bale will become super shit and be sold to Swansea for 7 million pounds in the summer of 2016, he will play off their bench.

We will become the first team ever to win the UCL for three consecutive seasons.

Carrington officially becomes renamed the "Field of Iron Tulips".

You read it here first

Can't believe we have some people on here that think we can say no to a signing like Thomas Muller.

Why not? There's people saying no to Ronaldo and Gareth Bale too.

People are saying no to them based on the money involved in correlation to the quality.. i.e. £70m for Bale is a joke etc and he is not worth it. I am sure if Bale was offered at £40m, you would get the odd few but Bale is polemic in that sense.. it is expected.

Ronaldo again - money, at 40m.. no one would say no but his age etc makes it a disputed signing for 70odd million.

Disputing Muller's class though where he is being linked to us at a fair price seems strange to me. He is the genuine article, proven performer at the highest level.

Why not? There's people saying no to Ronaldo and Gareth Bale too.

Ronaldo with the reasoning that he went to Madrid the first place and his age is starting to kick in. Bale with the reasoning that he is a one dimensional one trick pony. What is the reasoning behind an intelligent player like Muller who has been critical for Bayern and the german squad ?
