Thomas Müller

We obviously wont get him, but I am baffled by some of the people in here saying they wouldnt want him. He is top quality and somehow only 25, even though he seems to have been around for ages... the new Schweinsteiger I guess.
German, expensive, not good enough, not English, doesn't fit van Gaal's style, too old at 25, absolutely terrible player*, would unbalance the squad, will leave for Real Madrid in 3 years, is not a "United" type player. The denizens of the transfer forum have endless reasons to spurn world class players.

I'd break the bank to sign Thomas Müller - like £65m, happily.

In fact, I'd say he's worth more (to us) than Gareth Bale or ADM, so maybe even more than that.

The guy is an absolute winner and is a class player, he can play anywhere in the front 3.

Would be the most exciting signing for years for me, seriously.

This midfield / attack would win trophies...

Mata----------Carrick--------Herrera
Memphis------Rooney--------Müller

A cnut on the field with a punchable face, dont want him.

Even if that means luring more red cards on the opposition? Jesus Christ, it looks like people have forgotten how some our players were called as cnuts by opposition fans, and yet we loved these players because they delivered while making rivals lose their own shit.

That's a sorry lot of excuses if anyone dares to pull even one from that. If there is someone who deserves a similar fee to what we paid for ADM, it is Müller and his fighting spirit.

I'm a big fan, but i don't see the appeal for bayern to sell, the average age of their squad is high and he's a 25 years old german, i don't think he's in the last year of his contract either, so unless he's really pushing for it, we don't stand a chance.

- 10 World Cup goals (in 13 games) at the age of 25.
- World Cup Golden Boot winner.
- World Cup winner.
- Champions League winner.
- Multiple domestic league and cup winner.
- Consistent output of goals and assists throughout his career.
- 5th placed in last year's Ballon d'Or

Yep, not good enough.

Pretty much. He just seems sort of average in every way. Not fast, not strong, average finisher etc. But he just seems so much smarter on the pitch than everybody else which is what makes him so good
 Are you having a laugh?

Even more baffling is why people think bayern would consider selling him... And even if they did let's be honest he will end up at real

It's like that scene from Dumb and Dumber when Lloyd and Harry were picking up hitchhikers, except Ed is behind the wheel

"Hey Louis, there's some more players there!"
"Pick em up!!"

This rumour was already ridiculous last summer when Müller was benched in a few important games, still on relatively low wages and had only 2 years left on his contract. Now that he was a regular starter all season and has a new longterm contract, it's just silly.

Stop killing the dream.

Muller is one of them players. He is excellent, but goes unseen quite a lot.
I'd love him, but I just don't know what his position is

Have said this many times now, he is my dream signing. We need some German

It does seem pretty clear Guardiola doesn't know how to get the best out of him so I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was fine with him moving on, but Bayern would obviously never allow it. I'd love him here.

A very intelligent and effective player, but bayern won't sell him and he won't leave Bayern.

Would absolutely love him here, he is the type of player that makes your team capable of winning the Champions League. LvG seems to love him too so i have no doubt we will be on the case.

Whether or not this is pure fiction, which of our four forwards are likely to score more goals for us next season, than would Muller?

Would be sensational if he came here but he is never going to leave Bayern, unfortunately. I'm sure the Bayern fans would rather Guardiola leave than him, if it came down to that.

Didnt he admit we tried to sign him last summer?

Good player, would do well for us.

Müller isnt that unhappy, he plays most of the time and just because he reacted once a bit angry, i dont think he will move obviously. Not now anyway. He said in the past he would be fine with a move abroad, but Schweinsteiger said that 30 times already and still palys for them. Plus it is more a tactic of getting a better contract than really a desire to play abroad. He still is young enough to move on later if he wants.

The only thing giving us hope is Guardiola, he would probably be fine with selling him, but not Bayern. His supposed unhapiness is blown out of proportion, he was frustrated that day against Barca and the media jump on it. They try to extend Pep's contract i heard yesterday, but he wont stay that long at Bayern and hasnt so much power to sell Müller, a Bayern legend in the making. I am sure Rummenigge would rather have his balls cut off than to sell Müller.

Yeah, of course we're going to sell Müller who has 4 years left on his contract for 40 million. I mean, we could also swap him for Luke Shaw and an epileptic badger, that would be just as reasonable.

What point? How is Muller a terrible player?
When you look at him you would never say he is a great footballer but when he is playing he is really good. I rate him highly but show him or a little of his play to one who is not watching football and i think the response will be "he must be terrible."

Can't descibe it better i hope you understand what i mean.

Anyone who doesn't rate Muller doesn't have a clue about the game. One of the most intelligent footballers on the planet, he would be superb here.

Sadly can't see it happening.

I do get what you mean. There's no 1 attribute of his which stands out enough to justify him being this good. Its just that he's a ridiculously intelligent player and good at pretty much everything.

Why does everybody think he's good only because of some mysterious, hard to define intangible qualities? He's exceptionally good at almost everything a footballer should do on the pitch. The fact that none of his qualities stand out doesn't mean they're all average. He's just great at pretty much everything.
