She's alright, @VP89 must be spoiled when it comes to women

Becky <3

Also Impact has been needing to be renamed to ge the stench of the past away from it. Not sure about GFW. Jarrett has played Anthem well though.

Yeah agree with this, it was an excellent match.

Has the Impact wrestling being officially rebranded as GFW been discussed yet? Jeff Jarrett is heading creative sadly but i see it as a positive move in the world of pro wrestling.

TNA are a weird one. It's such a mess of a place, as a business and as a prouct, that it would have been better off being put out of it's misery long ago. However a company on it's scale with a TV deal in the US, it's hard to create from scratch and it is good that there is a place like it for guys to work. Does look like it's going to continue on in a similar vain though since the takeover.

Also Becky is god damn lovely.

TNAs rebranding as GFW is Jarretts ultimate revenge really isn't it. He must be feeling pretty damn good right now.

Couldn't give a stuff what happened at Slammiversary, while I checked the G1 Specials result as soon as I got up this morning before going to work. Then watched Omega vs Ishii on the way to work.

Found myself watching old Nitros over the last few weeks and the first year of the nWo is still awesome all these years later.

I done that about a year ago. Went from Mid 96 till the death. The 1997 episodes are great.

This weekend was the first time in my life that I actually looked to see what the G1 brackets were.

Clearly whatever New Japan are doing is working.

New Japan has been fantastic for about a year now. Brings me back to my childhood of not knowing who was going to win matches, and the standard of wrestling is the best in the World.

I honestly think if NJPW keep expanding (like they are trying to do with the US shows), Then they can become a serious contender to the WWE. They will probably never get as big due to not being as accessible being based in Japan, but they have already had a massive increase in subscribers to New Japan World and that will keep increasing with the G1 coming up.

It's a great time for them to spring forward, as WWE is quickly losing steam.

Yeah, the popularity of Bullet Club and its members have got a lot of eyes on their product from this side of the world and a lot of people stayed after checking out a few shows.

This is the first year I actually know the majority of the wrestlers in the G1 brackets instead of knowing one or two and having little if any idea of the others.

Its a much better alternative than some others in fairness, Id much rather watch NJPW than anything TNA/GFW have put out in ages, think the last thing I watched there was the Hardys last appearance. I will follow the ROH results and occasionally seek out anything major happening but tend to spend more time on NJPW these days.

Part of the appeal as well. Because WWE is so predictable these days its nice not knowing every single in and out of a company and being surprised by the results of matches is a nice change.

Yeah same here. The only ones I haven't heard of before are Bad Luck Fale, Togi Makabe, Evil, Juice Robinson, Tama Tonga and Toru Yamo.

Oh, apparently Juice Robinson is CJ Parker, so there's one to add to the do know list.

Tama Tonga is Haku/Meng's kid

and Makabe and Yano are NJ mainstays

Fale and Tama Tonga are Bullet Club members and I only know EVIL (think its all caps for some reason) because I saw his name and thought its either the coolest or dumbest name for a wrestler

Have no earthly idea who Toru Yamo is though?

Evil is one of Naito's bros in LIJ, wears dodgey eye makeup. Toru Yano is the low blow guy, he's great.

Fale is a huge Tongan dude, used to be Devitt/Balor's bodyguard. Can pull out some great matches but is often just kinda filler. Tama as mentioned is Haku's son and brother/tag partner of the former Camacho.

Makabe is a long time NJPW guy, he's not really up to much anymore, usually just pulls out one great match a year, always gets used prominently still because he's a huge star in Japan with his own cooking show. EVIL is the former Takaaki Watanabe if you watched ROH, he's really good.

Toru Yano is one of my faves, he's the banana peel basically, comes out, low blows folk, exposed turnbuckle pad, roll ups. Very good in the G1 environment to stop it being repetitive WRESTLING IS SUPER SERIOUS stuff, also means he can be used to beat anybody on any day as he always cheats.

As an aside, Juice is REALLY good now. His improvement over the last year or so is ludicrous.

Is that the first time Lesnar's spoke in like a year? It's weird every time, he has the voice of a chirpy car salesman.

Cheers for the right-up, I need to check out a Toru Yano match.

I suggest people listen to this if you have any interest in the Chris Benoit story. Arguably one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to.

Shit PPV name aside, the PPV this sunday looks really interesting and has been built well imo.
Esp the main event. I really hope Brock/Joe is an all out beast of a brawl and competitive. Nobody (except Goldberg) has looked close to looking like competition for Brock since probably Taker.

That raw set up great balls of fire really well... I'm invested in many matches (apart from Rollins v Wyatt).

Although it didn't have much build this week, Neville v Tozawa will be great, even a show stealer possibly.

Enzo cut a great promo to hype up his battle with the 7 foot catchphrase.

Reigns v Braun should be hella fun.

But the main thing I'm looking forward to is Joe v Brock. Their segment this week was pure class. I hope there no winner. I hope they brawl so much that the whole arena erupts like Dragon Ball Z

It won't be a show stealer on the pre show, yet again the crowd will be completely disinterested in the cruiserweight title match.

It's weird that you two post that as this past week I've started watching old Nitro's, too. I started at the 1st show of '97 just because that was the month Macho Man returned. Watching these old Nitro's and seeing the Benoit-Taskmaster feud with Nancy is pretty sad, though.

On the topic of the Joe, Lesnar and Heyman interview from RAW, I felt that it fell completely flat. I liked the idea, but the execution was terrible, in my opinion.

If that interview had been at the start of their feud with Joe having accomplished nothing on the main roster I'd have got it, but it wasn't. For them to no sell Joe after, what, a month of him getting the better of them didn't make sense to me. I mean Joe's not only got the better of Brock in a brawl, not only choked out Heyman, but just choked Brock himself out last week and they're all smiles? Lesnar should've been at boiling point, surely.

Agree with the last point, it was completely backwards.

The Orton-Mahal feud needs to stop, the Punjabi Prison better be the end of it, which will be fecking awful and not a look at The Great Khali climbing a cage kind of awful.

They went there , rater R like xavier woods
Made me laugh that. But why did they then repeat it?

What a pointless return for both Cena/Rusev.

Yeah, what was that?

I thought for sure Bryan was gonna make Rusev take the match or something. I think Cena is brilliant but I can point to a lot of examples of him being a hypocrite with his comments in the past about part timers.

That rap battle should have been vintage wrestlecrap but it was brilliant.

Usos have come on leaps and bounds with their heel turn.

I dont fully agree. I think this the story they are going towards given Brocks domination for almost 4 years or whatever it is.
I think this will lead to Brock/Joe being competitive.

I hope :nervous:

15 German Suplexes and 1 F5 later and the internet hits meltdown mode about Joe being treated like a jobber.

Really loved the G1 Specials in Long Beach this weekend. The only really bad thing was the Tanahashi - Billy Gun match. Everything else was really good in terms of in-ring work and a representation of what New Japan is.

Except for JR. He sounded so fecking disinterested in it all, it was inexcusable. Mixing up names and even sarcastically remarking "good luck with that" when the winner of the new title announced they were going to go for bigger crowds next time they come to the USA. Such a shame.

Understandable but it just didn't come off as natural to me.

I wouldn't mind. Bar Joe/Lesnar the rest of RAW is trash so I'd have no reason to keep up to date if they were to do this. I'm sure it'll be a good match, though.

I've seen a lot of complaints towards JR for this.

With their "crew" behind them they looked like straight-up thugs.

They're by far the "coolest" act in the WWE right now.

Made me laugh that. But why did they then repeat it?

Apparently that's a thing that happens in Rap battles... apparently.

This was decent, and better than some actual rap battles where they just rap about who kills the most people and sells the most drugs. If the New Day and their crew showed up to an actual rap battle dressed like that they'd get roasted.

It's his gimmick? To be fair it genuinely feels like it is done now just because that's what you do, rather than actually thinking he sucks. Maybe in ten years time the same thing will happen for Roman.

Yeah. Like the You Suck when Angle comes out.

They cut the best line out of that video!
