Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

Christ Smackdown was shit. Had Carmella retaining MITB all over it since day 1. Theyre now bad storytellers and predictable on top of it.

I don't know why they didn't just do that match at the PPV. Ellsworth trying to cheat, Carmella resorting to chair shots, could have added the Ellsworth/Becky spot and she'd have still drawn heat from winning, but would have avoided all of the controversy from having Ellsworth get the case.

Watching a bit of Smackdown. It feels like it's been ages since AJ actually had a match but, in reality, it's probably only been like two episodes. Crazy that him and Owens are stuck in the midcard, getting little TV time, with Mahal and Orton still in the main event. It's been them two for an age and, when Cena's back, he'll probably go straight into being the number 1 contender once Orton loses again. It's so boring.

I really like Smackdowns tag division, though. They need to go full early 2000s when they had Edge&Christian, Hardyz and Dudleyz with The Uso's, New Day, Fashion Police and American Alpha. Just have all 4 teams in the mix, all out to prove they're the best team, and the stuff will be good. Each have their own personality and can put on good matches/segments. I do think Breeze and Fandango need to improve in the ring, though. I've loved them together but I've yet to see them really put on a good match as a team. The Colons are alright, too.

Also, it's the first time in a long time I've seen a Bryan segment and he's probably still the most over guy on the roster.

Whilst i like the move to go for a new champion at the top, Jinder just hasnt had great matches. Whether its a combo of going with Orton (who is boring right now) or its Jinders lack of being able to have one (his match with AJ was ... ok, not great), I think the main event suffers and thus the show suffers (as its normally built around that).

Less than half a year ago, you had AJ at the top and things playing off him and the show was fantastic. It felt fresh.

For discussions sake. Would you guys be cool with Bryan leaving and wrestling somewhere else even if its dangerous to his health?

Not if it's dangerous for his health no, but i think he's of the same opinion.

Every time he's talked about it, i think he's been quite open that he'll wrestle again if his health allows. I think he's undergone more testing, and judging the fact he's increasingly talking about getting back to it, something's encouraged him.

Nope. He should really take WWE doctors advice and just call it a day. He has a family now to think of ffs, its not just about him anymore. I get that having his career cut short will feel unfinished and that it will always be an itch he needs to scratch but he needs to look at the bigger picture.

If the argument is made that WWEs doctors are playing it safe by not clearing him to avoid the possibilities of a injury/potential lawsuit/pr nightmare there is still the fact that he has the underlying head trauma issues that caused him not to be cleared to begin with.

Going to compete in somewhere like NJPW or ROH would be insanity considering the in-ring style and who is to say they would clear him either. NJPW probably want to avoid anymore Shibata like repeats and can see ROH following WWEs line of thinking considering they are owned by Sinclair Broadcasting. The best I reckon he can hope for is some small time independent show that is very very lax allowing him to wrestle. And even then who is going to want to wrestle him? What wrestler would want to be the one to give him a full forearm or boot to the head or suplex him on his head knowing there is a much much higher risk of something awful happening?

Pretty sure he isn't cleared for any activity, including hitting moves on people, otherwise he would punched Elsworth in his stupid face on Smackdown this week.

However if he was somehow cleared for activity like Bret Hart was (can give but not take any offensive moves) then build up a Miz/Sheamus fued for a while and as soon as the bell rings have him put them in the Yes Lock and have then tap out straight away. (fantasy booking, Miz because they have always been associated and Sheamus because it would be a nice nod to WM28).

I hope he doesnt. And I agree, now that hes had a kid (and is marred) he needs to take that into consideration for anything he does going forward. What he currently does is probably the best thing he can do imo.

Regarding Smackdown going bad recently, I think alot of it boils down to Road Dogg now being the head writer for it.

Worst thing is, Carmella is terrible in the ring and get's absolute no reaction from the crowd. Can hear the crickets when she walks out. Ellsworth has been a god send for her.

The Carmella problem basically sums up the booking of the women's division throughout the WWE. Alexa Bliss should not be the first RAW and Smackdown Women's Champion either as she is still very green in the ring. Thankfully she is good on the mic and it has masked it a bit. Just feels like with the women it's a case of 'everyone gets a turn with the belt'.

All three main shows main evented by the women this week. Safe to say Asuka and Nikki Cross comfortably came out on top, brilliant title match.

Bliss wasn't first Smackdown champ

Saw two spots from that on Reddit, looked vicious. In a botched kind of way, but still cool...

Good to see Ranallo back, he needs to be on SmackDown again. Shinsuke would be 15 per cent better on the main roster if Ranallo was screaming "KINSHASAAA"

Very good match mate, certainly worth checking out. The right intensity, a well built story and a really good rivalry. Enough memorable spots in there. The table spot to finish it was awesome.

This was everything the Women's MITB matches should have been. They had two shots at it and IMO both disappointed.

A bit random but I'm currently watching some Randy Savage clips. He was way before my time (I didn't see his WCW run when I was a child as I never knew where to watch it on UK TV and he had left the WWF by the time I began) but he's still one of my favourites ever. Certainly top 6 with Stone Cold, Daniel Bryan, Christian, Jay Briscoe and Bret Hart. That list changes a lot, to be honest, but, as of right now, that's it. Damn, this guy could cut an amazing promo and his feud with Jake "The Snake" Roberts was awesome.

Bar maybe Jay Briscoe, I don't think there's anyone who can cut a promo anywhere near the level he did in the entire business today. Even Jay's not on his level as much as I am a fan of his. The intensity (which, to be fair, Jay brings a lot of) Savage brought was off the charts.

That promo style is pretty much dead now, which is probably for the best tbh. The world changes and they needed to change with it.

I don't watch much WWE any more so don't even know if they've let him talk yet, but Aleister Black is one of the best promos on the planet for my money. I'm always totally engrossed whenever he talks. Aside from that there's obviously Kevin Owens and Alexa Bliss who are INCREDIBLE talkers. Bray Wyatt's delivery is phenomenal but he's all too often just saying the same thing and it's boring as hell at this point.

Yeah thought they played it quite safe in both matches. While I wasn't expecting anything like powerbombs through ladders and anything like AJs fall at MiTB they did seem to be very cautious for the most part. Understandable. I also don't think thank needing to use the 20ft ladder on Smackdown helped them either, its unwieldy enough for the men let alone the women. Thats not meant as sexist as it probably sounds either.

Nope, he hasn't said a word yet.

There was a point where there was a ladder tipped over on its side and Becky went to pull it back up by standing in the middle of it then walking backwards. It got to a point where she was on her tip toes because the thing was too big.

It was like they didn't think to lower the briefcase for the women so they didn't have to use the bigger ladders and thus struggle with them.

Anyway Kairi Hojo has a new name, Kairi Sane. Also Viper is in the women's tournament which is looking really interesting.

cant wait. Given the tournaments dont fall into the normal WWE creative blackhole, this should be another fantastic tournament offered to us.

It is dead but I wouldn't say for the best. When Macho Man spoke, you listened. Whenever someone in the business today speaks, you kind of tune out because you can tell it's either scripted or their heart isn't in it.

He had such great versatility. You believed it when he was happy, sad, angry because he spoke from the heart.

3 entirely different types of promos, all, in my opinion, great. You just don't get that much emotion anymore.

I agree about Bray's delivery, and I am a huge fan, but that fact that for years he's been saying the same thing only for him to lose said feud over and over again has caused his promos to become meaningless.

Before being fed to Cena at WM30, Bray was one that, when talking, I was engrossed in, too. I still like him but as of right now his promos don't mean a thing. I think the only wrestler I'm engrossed in when cutting a promo right now is Samoa Joe. In the WWE anyway.

I'd be surprised if she doesn't win the tournament. Don't even get me started on some of these fecking name changes.

Yeah agree with this, it was an excellent match.

Has the Impact wrestling being officially rebranded as GFW been discussed yet? Jeff Jarrett is heading creative sadly but i see it as a positive move in the world of pro wrestling.

Get out and never come back. Ever.

Wouldn't touch her with a 10 foot pole...
