Have they actually turned Roman heel?!

I've not seen the PPV, but twitter seems convinced they've thrown a double turn.

That would be the logic given what happened, but logic is thrown out the window given Orton set property which wasnt his on fire and wasnt arrested nor booed.
TBH Romans gonna be in the same position he was, getting bood by adult males, cheered by kids / females.
And Braun will be the same, which is opposite.

Main event just finished... like that. Wish it had a bit more time.
But overall enjoyed that PPV. It just felt like... pro wrestling should. If that makes sense.

I kind of liked the finisher finishing the match just the 1 for once.

Yeah a very good show in my opinion, I think even though Smackdown has had the better weekly shows by far I still think Raw puts on the better PPVs.

Caught the ending of the ambulance match and it was hilarious. Reigns looks like a complete idiot and Braun doesn't get the rub of a decisive victory. Also I don't know why I was suckered in to the Joe/Lesnar match because I knew it'd be dissapointing and it was. Not as much as I'd thought it be but they booked themselves into a corner and topped it off with such a dud finish.

The problem I had with the finish was that Brock just got him up out of a submission attempt and his one f5. Would be fine if one f5 was beating everybody else, but weve seen people kick out of multiple f5s. Joe was built as somebody who worried Joe (and Heyman). In fact Brocks reaction after the match showed as much. Joe kicking out of a f5 and Brock having a WTF? face would have been quite something.

Braun looked like a badass though. Throwing Reigns around with ease, winning the match. getting crushed in an ambulance and walking away with no help. Monster amongst men indeed.

It was just poor booking all round, Joe only getting cheap shots in and going for the Coquina Clutch every time while Lesnar gets put through a table, flies into a post and still manages to win with one F5. The match wasn't helped by the fact every Coquina Clutch Joe did lock in looked a bit rubbish.

They had to do something to make the F5 look strong again, I guess.

Joe has looked strong throughout the feud and looked good last night, loss won't hurt him.

Just watched the Lesnar-Joe match after falling asleep last night, great match and well told, very glad they didn't go for a squash. Gets people really wanting a rematch that lasts longer now too. Granted other people have kicked out of F5's before but if they're actually gonna start respecting finisher moves then I all for it. People should not be kicking out unless it's Wrestlemania and even then it's overdone.

The rest of it was dross, though I haven't seen Reigns-Braun yet.

Still madly in love with Alexa Bliss though.

Enjoyed it for the most part. Joe/Lesnar was a bit cack and everything I expected it to be. Absolutely no Balor/Club was a bit weird. Not even being mentioned.

Think Graves fecked up the commentary during the iron-man tag match. He said partway through that a draw would mean Sheamus and Cesaro would retain, then Booker jumped in pretty much straight away with how he couldn't wait for some sudden death action and wanting a winner that night, then nearer the end at 3-3 Graves said something about sudden death.

If a draw meant Sheamus and Cesaro retained, then there was no need for Cesaro to make it 4-3. With that rule, even if Jeff had managed to pin him after the Twist of Fate at the end S&C would have retained.

This Kurt Angle thing is going to be horrific isn't it?

Dixie Carter was giving interviews for WWE24, let's just hope it's not her again.

Brock Joe match was awful. Are they just trying to book Brock and Joe UFC style? Max 2 or 3 moves and looking for their finisher to end it. Joe looked amazing at the start but it was very anti-climatic.

The double turn of RR and Strowman was interesting. All I noticed was that they gave major major sympathy to Strowman. And the shot of RR looking into mirror at what I took to be a major heel scowl was significant too.

I thought the tag team match was the best on the night even though Matt Hardy moves like my 60 year old dad.

It was the fist PPV I've watched since Mania. I thought overall it was pretty shit.

When you have Brock allowed to say lines like "You don't deserve shit." while the others argue by saying "Ha ha, you lost last night." It just makes them look like dorks.

Joe still held his own with the 'look at me when I'm talking to you' line. Reigns was typical Reigns, fading into the background when he's in the ring with two much stronger presences.

What's this Kurt thing? I mean anything to get him wrestling again I'd love to see him have another WWE match but I have a feeling this reveal is going to be ultra cringe.

Let's hope it's not what @KM suggested! Imagine a segment having both Stephanie and Dixie.

Poor Kurt. Should be a hard line manager and is bring reeled into some soap instead. I wanted them to book Kurt as a fearless manager, stepping up to Brawn when he gets loose, talking some smack, etc.

Raw is shit. They're lucky smackdown is worse. At this rate I might not bother with Wrestlemania tickets.

I can see some kind of horrifically cringey storyline where Kurt has been having an affair with Stephanie. HHH vs. Kurt at SummerSlam. Pretty much a repeat of an old storyline to try and bring back some attitude era fans.

Great Balls of Fire was actually a very good PPV IMO, although I'm probably overrating it slightly as its competition in terms of 'good' PPVs recently is almost non-existent.

Some of the results were actually quite surprising. I was sure they'd have Seth beat Bray, as Bray seems to lose every feud and Seth's just been put on the cover of 2K18. Thought they'd have Roman beat Braun too, and after the ending I'd have probably preferred that. Iron Man Tag Match was pretty sweet as well I thought.

Raw was OK compared to recent weeks.

Samoa Joe has to be in the Summerslam main event at this point, and I'm fairly sure the company knows this.

I can see it being a four way with Strowman getting himself involved next week... either that or Strowman will cost Roman the match and it'll be a straight rematch.

I was convinced the original idea was Roman takes the title from Lesnar at SummerSlam and probably holds it until at least Wrestlemania, but this is starting to look a little more unlikely now. There's too much heat still there with the Joe/Lesnar angle and everyone wants more. The Roman/Strowman feud is also far from finished, when I and probably most people thought it'd end at GBoF. So, one of the scenarios you came up with is almost sure to happen. A Fatal Four-Way would make the most sense with SummerSlam still over five weeks away? I'm not sure how they could string along straight up re-matches for such a period of time without losing a bit of momentum. At least this way, they can cover another two weeks with something like:

- Braun interferes to either cost Roman the match against Joe, or more likely just ruins the match entirely and Kurt orders a Triple Threat the following week.
- Lesnar then interferes in the Triple Threat, resulting in no winner again. Simultaneously putting over all three guys as it's an odd situation of Lesnar not wanting to face any of them, but Heyman playing the whole 'they don't deserve it' card. Obvious solution is if no one can play nice, then all four of you are going to settle it.

Again though, I'm not sure if Vince is going to allow the 'dream' of Roman Reigns beating the guy who beat the streak originally, what with him being the one who finally buried the deadman at Wrestlemania as well. I always thought they'd stick with this. They've got themselves in a tight spot as anyone else taking the title from Lesnar diminishes Reigns a bit, as he doesn't get to beat him (as Lesnar will likely take time off once he doesn't have the belt IMO). Heyman could stick around and manage Joe or Braun, though.

If Reigns doesn't get the title next month, then they'll probably work on something for Survivor Series instead. He's winning it at one of the big four.

Expect Joe to win next Monday as Reigns was nothing more than a 3rd wheel while Joe And Lesnar looked like stars

Kurt Angle is having it off with Stephanie McMahon, this will lead to a feud between him and Triple H culminating at Wrestlemania.

The whole Cass leaning into to talk to Big Show seemed weird

His promo was dire, you just don't believe he's this heel who doesn't give a shit about anything. That and one of the script writers doesn't seem to realise that normal people don't say totem pole. Enzo's promo before their match on the other hand was brilliant, he's one of the most natural on the mic in the company.

I thought Roman came across pretty well. Good balance of cockiness and arrogance, whilst still looking like he could back it up. His line about looking for Strowman in response to Joe bringing up his defeat was great.

I think Joe's going over Reigns next week and the reason him and Lesnar took the spotlight was because they're the two with the proper feud at the moment.

Shame I can't see Enzo doing much as a single wrestler though.

Im still sad Enzo and Cass didnt win the tag titles. Not even in NXT. Thats some sad stuff. They broke up way too early.

Also hoping Joe wins the title at Summerslam. Let him hold it to Rumble, lose it to Brock again if needed and have him put over Reigns since they seem so adamant to crown Reigns every year at WM (whether its the title, by HHH or by Taker). Seems like thats the plan eh?

Angle :nervous:

Just get Lesnar-Reigns out of the way before Wrestlemania, they could put on a decent match but the crowd would be far more receptive to it at Survivor Series or the Royal Rumble.

Samoa Joe has looked brilliant in this feud. I wasn't really too interested in him any more at this point, his stock had been going down for years in TNA and they waited far too long to make him champion. When he signed with NXT I was very much 'meh'. Wasn't overly impressed by anything he did in NXT with Balor/Nakamura and thought he got lost in the shuffle with Rollins/Triple H at Mania.

But he looks revitalized again since Extreme Rules and he has been a lot more believable as a badass in the Lesnar feud.

Kurt Angles face when Roman got out of the ambulance was the best moment of the ppv though. What a reaction :lol:

Roman will never be a top heel at this point simply because no matter what he does, a large portion of the crowd are still cheering him. Beats Undertaker at Mania and retires a legend-still cheers. Attempts to actually murder Braun-still cheers.

Would have been so easy to continue his cocky persona from the night after Mania but instead it was back to normal the following week.
