Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

I did, just not as much as now. I didn't realise how boring Raw would be without him and I miss him and maybe even love him a little bit

Fair enough. He's pretty underrated by a lot of wrestling fans IMO. He's carried a pretty heavy workload and mantle for a long, long time.

Indeed. I think he'd be the perfect WWE Champion right now too. In a face/face feud vs Reigns, the crowd reactions would be quite unpredictable and it would make for good watching. Hopefully he turns super Cena mode on and makes it for Mania.

so is Cena considered a good wrestler now? back in 2008 when I was watching, all the "smarks" hated him for his lack of talent. he botched every move and couldn't sell injuries.

also Jericho. he was a god then, but noone seems to like him anymore?

Cena is a good wrestler. Puts on a lot of good matches over the course of a year, with a variety of different talent/styles. He has definitely improved though, wasn't always good.

Jericho has declined, plus he just comes back and puts guys over now. But because he constantly loses he has sort of lost relevance.

Mania is 9 weeks away. He couldn't. Could he?

For any other person, it's impossible. For John Cena, I'm not ruling anything out.

Go on then.. Book Cena at Mania.. But it can't have any (much) build as he's not going to be sure of competing until weeks before at the earliest..

What scenarios are there for him if he does, miraculously, get himself fit and healthy?

Tbf it's John Cena at Wrestlemania, you don't need a big build. Rock vs Hogan build started on the go home show for instance.

That was about the peak of people hating John. Not long after most started to realise that yeah, this guy is fantastic. It was still the cool thing to hate him (still is at shows) but by and large there's no malice at all, it's just part of the show to chant Cena sucks. Cena's 2015 was the second best of anyone in the world that I saw, and he's always up in that top ten before you talk about the stuff we don't see such as all of his charity work, whether official or off his own back. He legitimately has a strong case to be in the top 20 or so of all time.

As for Jericho, he's lost most of his athleticism and has become a charicature of himself who has a big return every 6 months when Fozzy aren't touring. Classic case of diminishing returns. He's essentially the wrestling version of Regina George's mum.

First I've heard of him being on that tour, but it sure looks like Tommy fecking End.

Any of the Irish lads in here ever done OTT btw? Keep hearing rave reviews about the shows and it seems to be growing at an ICW-esque rate without the documentary ICW had helping them. Starting to attract some names now, Will Ospreay is on one of the next shows, I believe Mark Andrews has done a show or two as well.

I keep meaning to go, its on the day before the ICW show...thatd be a hard weekend.

Cena has been stuck in crap feuds in the last few years at Mania, if he was him i'd veto another such match.
I suppose the temptation for him to be used in these matches is to elevate the midcard performers.

If it's touch and go whether he'll be able to compete it'd be better to put him in a match that doesn't require much build, though the Andre the Giant suggestion was slightly tongue in cheek.

Kinda figured.

Problem is takes away the opportunity of a spectacle for the fans...Cena is a big deal, put him against another big deal and we have those massive matches that go down in folklore.

They put him against Rusev. Did nothing for him.

I just want Cena-Taker. It's one for the ages.Rock-Hogan type of matches where the actual matches is just part of the spectacle.I'm a sucker for that.

Cena/Wyatt wasnt a crap feud, it just turned out to be one given how it ended. I think it was one that he should have lost, then again I thought he should have lost to Rusev... the guy who came out on a freakin tank.

Cena is a beast but I wouldnt mind if he just did some sort of promo with Rock and Austin (since it seems certain both will be there).

I think for Cena/Taker it needs at least one or two weeks build. Taker comes out, says nobody is willing to face him and Cena returns and challenges him for the weekend (that imo would push last minute tickets and subscriptions). Thats if Cena is ready otherwise I can see them using him as a suprise (without wrestling)

Anyway, SD was fun. Probably the first time in months I watched the original content without forwarding it. Neville/Kalisto was fun. Would love to see some sort of best of 7 between them ending at WM. Or a triple threat with them two and AJ.
Highlight reel was good as well.
There was even a reason for AJ vs Axel.

Just seen the news - devastated to read it. Bret is my favourite ever, and one of the strongest guys in his real life it seems. I so wish he can win this one as well :(

Bret was my fav especially through the 90s. Hope he wins this one.

Aw man, Bret HArt was always a favourite of mine.

I used to get the WWF video tapes for XMas and birthdays when I was a kid and I think I watched this Summerslam 1991 match a million times (I was 13 at the time and MR Perfect was my guy).

Not watched it in ages, more aggressive than I remember.

Would love a WWE curveball at Fastlane, and have Ambrose win, and then he wins the title. Loved his promo with Brock.

So why doesn't the badass hero come out and help the Big Show, who's taking a shit kicking for helping him last week?

They really don't help Reigns with this daft booking.

Love me some Heyman promo. Stacking both Ambrose and Reigns on top of each other for a pin would be amazing. His Billion Dollar Trophy Husband remark was great too.
Abrose coming in and stating his need for the title strenghens the story quite a lot I think. He felt a bit out of place in it so far, but now he's really hellbent on getting the title too, it feels less so.

Lillian slipped up calling the Uso's Grammy Award winning. Now I get WWE wants to hype them, but that one was a bit out there. The commentary team even repeated it.

Miz TV segment was cool. Miz is a great (underrated) heel. With Brie winning, I can see them go for a placeholder Brie vs Charlotte feud real quick so they can do Charlotte VS Sasha at WM.

Big Show saves Reigns, Ambrose and Jericho from the Wyatts but none of them can be arsed to return the favour? Damn you creative.

The Titus mini-push continues and Breeze is still getting punished for his backstage "attitude". yawn.

Guess this means the end of those Diva's factions. Now disconnect Total Diva's storylines from Raw/Smackdown and stop calling it the Diva's division, and you are building a respectable Womans division.

No Wyatt vs Lesnar interaction? boooo!

So Owens beats Ziggler last week, Ziggler beats Owens this week. Welcome to 50/50...

This seems to have replaced Sheamus vs Orton as there new go to match up. Think these guys wrestle on TV at least twice a month, without actually getting into a feud.

Wyatt's father was taken to hospital, it's why Bo was 'recording a rap album' .

It's their grandfather, Blackjack Mulligan that was taken to hospital - not their father, IRS. Seems that he and his two sons were called away from Raw to be with their grandfather, so doesn't sound good at all.

I didn't think it was terrible... just completely meh.

I liked some stuff... Heyman/Ambrose straight into Kalisto/Rusev was a nice start. The MizTV segment was really good... Miz was excellent on the stick, and New Day talking about slash fiction was pretty hilarious.

Ziggler going over Ambrose clean though? Nah... not having that. This could be the first step towards Owens becoming "just another guy" unfortunately.

They should copy the wcw booking and have Reigns f5 them both, put Ambrose underneath, then Reigns on top then pin them both. Ref counts, but then declares Reigns the winner as he was on top of Ambrose  Imagine the reaction.

Also yes about Miz. I was just thinking hes a villain who likes to be hated, even if its lower level compared to what they need. He gets people cheered (Bryan, Riley, Sandow). Need more heels like him tbh.

I guess you mean that Lesnar F5's them both? That would be amazing indeed, and that would give Reigns nuclear heat from the crowd I think.
