Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

I can't believe this.
It's like a company has made another product that has sabotaged their own!
Why don't they just make WWE better (bigger budget, crowds, etc) if they know how to do it, with NXT.
Mostly because NXT goes for simple yet compelling story lines and has great wrestling to go with it. Accidentally, Vince has nothing to do with the show, Triple H is the main man there. You can draw your own conclusions from that, but the general consensus is that Trips really knows what he's doing.

it doesn't really impact on the WWE to be honest, we all love NXT but we still tune into Raw most weeks and this thread is still busy during PPVs.

First episode, continuing on to the last episode (and watching the rest in between).

Simples.
Yeah @Paz, just watch every episode.

So, the best way to describe Lucha Underground is a wrestling program that is done in series format (Season 2 begins next week). The way I explain this will sound completely absurd but hang with me. Lucha Underground is based around Dario Cuerto who is a rich business man who has a warehouse in Los Angeles that he calls The Temple. He invites the best talent from across the world to fight in the temple for honour, pride and well, money. The wrestling is mixed-gender in the large part and you have the following characters - a dragon, a puma, a hunter, death incarnate and his disciples, a pheonix, a motor-cross stunt racer and so on. There is one world title, a trio's title and a "gift of the gods" title which is like money in the bank.

So it all sounds absurd right? It's actually the most original and freshest wrestling around. The in-ring work is fantastic, the storylines play out like a drama series and the general feel of the series is just quality. It holds a 9.3 on IMDB, 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. I'd show you a match right now that would have you hooked and I'm sure everyone knows which match I'm talking about but I don't want to spoil anything for you - just watch it.

I tried to give it a go, but going to sleep. Who gave Jericho authority? Where is Ambrose to help his brother? Where are the Usos to even it up? I assume Jerichos turning heel? Hmm whatever.

Watched the opening segment and switched it off. Not sure if I will even watch the Rumble yet either.

Wish they stopped making it all about Roman. Virtually 0 other stories going on right now. Apart from Becky Lynch single handily dragging the divas division out of the mud.

I guess the events of yesterday is a hint of who Brock is going to face at Wrestlemania. Would usually complain about Brock squashing the Wyatt's would do damage to them, but for a faction of monster heels, i don't think they can be any less threatening.

Not sure what to make of the way Raw ended. Is
Bray/Wyatts
finally getting a chance to go over a big star. either way I was happy to see
Lesnar
get laid out

Terrible episode of RAW this week but one good thing is I have no clue who will win the Rumble, surely Reigns isn't going to win it....

Jericho was hilarious, those cartwheels looked terrible. Not sure if I'm amused by him in general, or just how funny it is to see him try so hard with his old stuff.

Some positives from Raw: Ko on Commentary, Top-rope Dis-Arm-Her & great promo from Becky, Wyatt doing a promo without a microphone.

Most of it was shit though: Why are Paige and Natty friends all of a sudden, wasn't Paige the one who jumped her backstage?
It feels like they are selling the Rumble purely on merit and are not really trying to make it very interesting. Although, every title is on the line during the PPV.
The ending to Raw has me slightly tempted to put money on Wyatt winning, after two years of shite predictable Royal Rumbles I would not be surprised if they go for a dark horse like Bray.

Seeing you all talk about Lucha Underground has me convinced, I'm gonna give it a go today.

Love the enthusiasm - I might give it a go! :) thanks again guys!

Average at best episode last night.

Positives:
Becky Lynch. Fantastic promo last week and pretty good this week. They've separated her and Charlotte from the rest of the pack and focused on building that as the main title storyline. It works. Simple booking, it's not fecking rocket science. Charlotte is ten times better as a heel too, wouldn't surprise me if she turns on her dad at some point too. Hopefully both deliver at the Rumble.

Brock Lesnar. No more needs to be said.

Kevin Owens/Dean Ambrose.

Negatives:
Pretty much everything else. Suddenly they've forgotten that Paige attacked Natalya not long ago. Paige has gone from being a heel to being a face in the space of a month or two. Brie Bella is the local jobber who's being overused in the most pointless way ever. They've built Becky/Charlotte decent enough if you ignore the pathetic booking of Charlotte going from a face looking for sympathy to being a heel in the space of a week. The rest is still an absolute mess though.

I should be sitting here happy that the Wyatt's laid out the champion, Reigns and the unstoppable beast Lesnar, but what's the point? They'll just quickly go back to booking them like shit right round the corner. Why am I going to buy for one moment that Wyatt is going to win the Rumble? He's lost numerous of his main feuds and then recently been feuding with The Dudleys and returning ECW wrestlers. What makes it believable for one moment that this man/group is going to take down Reigns or Lesnar? The Wyatt's are fantastic, the booking has been so shit for large parts though that it's tough to take them as a credible and legit threat to the title or other top stars.

Wyatts did the same to Undertaker, Kane, Reigns, Cena and then got dispatched. TBH, its about time they turn Wyatts face (by face i mean keep them the same but just go after League of Nations and Authority).

The subtle hints for them turning face are creeping in. I thought his Down With The Machine shirt today was telling, you could easily go with The Machine being The Authority.

This may be worth keeping an eye on, keeps being tweeted to Gabe, Regal, Gable, Jordan and Ryan Satin (Pro Wrestling Sheet).

The obvious guess would be Sami Callihan, but including the NXT folk wouldn't make much sense in that sense. Also worth noting that the weekend references is to crown the inaugural EVOLVE tag champs, so Gable/Jordan may signify some kind of cross promotion stuff down the line? It's an interesting tease at this point.

Can get 16/1 for Wyatt on Betfair, worth a few quid after last night surely.

Are TNA run by idiots? (rhetorical question)

So all the internet hype surrounding AJ Styles signing with WWE, TNA decide to post a load of his TNA matches on their website, nothing like advertising the competition is there? Ditsy Carter really is a moron.

In other news i have bought tickets to comic con in March and Al Snow is confirmed to appear, I am clearly going to try and convince him to get me hired as a writer.

Bray never wins any important matches though.

Think we are a shoe in for a either a Brock v Romans at mania for the title, or a triple threat with those two another, but dont think it'll be Bray.

In my years watching wrestling, the guy with the advantage on the go home show usually never wins.

Smackdown is the go home show...

Worst opening to Raw in ages. Jericho is just painful these days.

Surely this is a ploy for him to turn heel off the back of? Least thats how I'm reading it.

Also, the fact that he's avoiding any physical confrontations so far... might all be leading somewhere.

I think every one of his returns has had him take time to actually wrestle. They just don't want to give away his first match back on Raw.

Talks of Daniel Bryan going to get cleared are going about. He's in Pittsburgh for a signing event, but lot of places saying he's also going there to talk to WWE head of wellness.

- Wyatt's get rid of Lesnar. Lesnar get rid of Wyatt's.
- Roman is in towards the end. Sheamus eliminates him with help from Triple H. Authority thinks they've won.
- Daniel Bryan returns, at 30, and wins.

Authority try and screw Daniel Bryan over all the way leading up to fastlane, Reigns constantly one ups them. Bryan stays Champion.

Fastlane: Reigns vs Sheamus as number 1 contender match. Triple H interferes. Reigns calls him out for Wrestlemania on Raw. Maybe have Wyatt's vs Daniel Bryan for the title at Fastlane, with Brock returning to destroy the Wyatt's as revenge.

Set ups Wrestlemania as:

Lesnar vs Wyatt
Reigns vs Triple H
Bryan vs Sheamus.

You could replace Sheamus with any LoN member really...

Of course another scenario is Bryan dumping out Triple H, after Triple H enters and think he's won.

Just a dream scenario though, unfortunately i think they are going to stick the title on Triple H.

They've already announced Callihan for the shows. Way to spoil the fun, Gabe.

Yeah, it's a dream scenario alright.

Bryan isn't seeing Dr. Maroon, simply doesn't have the time. He wouldn't need to see him anyway to get cleared, but facts are facts and his career is as good as done. Even if by some complete ridiculously long odds scenario occurs where he can return they're not going to put him front and centre when he's wrestled what, 10 matches in 2 years through injury.

Good timing, I got told last night that several people on the main roster want him in the Rumble so they can Daniel Puder him. He should be at the show given its in Orlando and he really will need to do a bit of grovelling.
