 PP have Rooney is 225/1 to win the RR and 150/1 to have the most eleminations

We get down to the final two and its Rooney against Wade Barrett. Barrett is chopping Rooney in the corner. There is no way Rooney can recover from the savage beating he has experienced over the last 20 minutes. Barrett is the fresher man and well on top.

But Rooney gets some adrenaline and battles back. Hits Barrett with a brutal Man City-like bicycle kick. He goes to throw Barrett over the ropes but.....counter....bull hammer by Barrett. They battle some more and Barrett is about to throw Wayne over and Rooney hits the "Slap outta nowhere!" to send Barrett tumbling over the top rope and to the floor.

Wayne Rooney has ACTUALLY won something this year!!!!! He runs off celebrating in the turnbuckle.

But wait .... What's this.... Vince McMahons music plays as he walks down the ramp and into the ring. "There have been only 29 men who have entered so far you innumerate feck! Let me introduce the 30th man into the Royal Rumble......the one.....the only...

Phil Bardsley

Good timing, I got told last night that several people on the main roster want him in the Rumble so they can Daniel Puder him. He should be at the show given its in Orlando and he really will need to do a bit of grovelling.

According to Alveraz, they got their wish.

Let's see him get suplexed a million times by Brock.

Triple H says there is a huge surprise at the NXT Royal Rumble taping tonight.

Doubt it's Styles, as he's going straight to WWE. Nakamura is in Japan till the 29th. Anderson and Gallows are booked for NJPW / ROW till Valentines day.

So... Austin Aries?

The biggest surprise would be if this taping sold out tbh.

Most likely thing is probably some kind of tournament that they throw highlights of on the Network where the winner gets entry into the Rumble, a bit like with Itami at Mania, even if it is a terrible way to debut someone (well, anyone, including if not especially AJ Styles).

#1 Entrant - Roman Reigns is confirmed, no?

Pff, Royal Rumble. Charlotte vs Becky is where it's at. That's been a great feud over the last few weeks. Proper heel and a proper babyface.

Becky winning on Sunday would be great.

Yeh most likely. Aries will be fun in NXT. Wonder what sort of gimmick he will play, hopefully still "the greatest man alive" stuff.

Assuming wrestling was real..

If entrants 28 & 29 eliminated each other with nobody else in the ring, would entrant 30 then come out and win the Rumble by default?

Unless a Curtis Axel situation occurs and he doesnt enter the ring...

Also interesting: http://www.tnawrestling.com/Search-Listing/item/6977-AJ-Styles

AJ Styles has always been synonymous with TNA and TNA synonymous with AJ Styles. AJ helped build the foundation of IMPACT WRESTLING, and his phenomenal body of work lives in our rich history - something we are very proud of.

In the last few weeks, rumors have swirled about AJ Styles, his future and TNA Wrestling. Fans have asked for the status and wrestling media have made numerous inquiries.

For the past several months, AJ and TNA were involved in serious discussions to bring him back home to TNA. Creative discussions escalated and two additional wrestlers, Drew Hankinson and Chad Allegra, were enthusiastically added.

These discussions culminated on December 14th in Nashville, Tenn., where all attended a meeting at Dixie Carter's home. A handshake and written deal between AJ, Drew, Chad and TNA was agreed upon and signed by all. Start dates were determined, creative decided, merchandise designed and plane tickets purchased.

Over the Christmas holiday, and after the lawyers finalized the long form agreement, all communication with TNA stopped.

AJ's lawyer contacted TNA and stated the wrestlers had changed their mind and would not be honoring their commitment to TNA.

Yes.... Yes..... Erm No.

TNA are so salty.

Yeah, nobody even asked or wanted to see him return to TNA. If anything, it makes them seem second rate.

"Oh hey guys, they agreed to join us, but then WWE came in, and AJ and the rest said 'laters, were joining a real company'"

ffs

Where's @phelans shorts to fill us in

On the TNA stuff? I'll add whatever I can.

TNA's Indian tv deal is much bigger than anyone knows, they're making a lot of money from it and can legitimately pay for big names as a result. The case here seems to be that TNA offered the 3 guys very good money, and were willing to allow them to work with New Japan as well (they agreed this kind of deal with Bennett and Kannelis) which they provisionally agreed (although contrary to what TNA say I don't believe anything was signed). They went away and spoke to New Japan carefully and soon discovered that New Japan as it stands are completely unwilling to work with TNA, ergo the TNA deal became a write off.

It should be pointed out that AJ was seemingly negotiating with WWE quite some time before then as he'd refused to take bookings past last weekend a long time ago but he had an agreement with ROH that he couldn't get out of.

Maybe more importantly is that Karl Anderson was under NJPW contract, which TNA have now openly admitted to tapping up, which could be a massive mess for them.

Well, the Bullet club is yet to be confirmed.

Can always go after the R.O.H talent too.

Edit: would probably never happen, but i'd love Bobby Roode. Pure class.
Well yeah, there are more than enough names left of course, but still. Out of the top of my head: Young Bucks, Ricochet, Zack Sabre Jr, Marty Scrull, Tommy End, Candice LeRae ect ect.

Is there any chance of WWE trying another "invasion" style angle with NXT vs WWE? The roster seems to have enough talent that it could work and also allow NXT stars on Raw and vice versa

I think it'd end up hurting NXT if they go brand vs brand. Couldn't then see how 'NXT' go back to where they are now after losing (Which they would) to 'WWE'.

I think if anything, they could do another Nexus style 'Invasion' with 5 or 6 top stars from NXT coming up to the main roster at the same time as a group.

But I think they're better keeping it totally separate (storyline wise) to be honest.

I agree, in the long run WWE will benefit from that, as would NXT. An invasionlike angle would be fun I guess, but if it's a brand war it will just end in WWE/Raw winning it and that would hurt NXT. I can see them go for the Balor club invading WWE, either as heels or faces.

I think Balor is about to be called up soon.

If you read the taping spoilers that take them up to the 2nd week of march.

There is nothing for him, the main focus seems to be number 1 contender battle, and that won't be resolved till the next set of tapings. Makes me think if they focus is Sami and Joe, one of them will be getting the title [/spoilers]

i think we're reading this very different. As it stands there no Takeovers until Dallas, the chances of the call up to me depend on who he's facing there.

If he's against Joe, you may be correct, but honestly I don't see it.

If he's against Zayn, then it's perfect for debuting Gun and Gallows and having Finn have the much needed heel turn.

They always tend to tone someone back just before the turn in my head, but maybe I'm misremembering.

Fwiw I was told there's no main roster plans for Anderson from the same person who told me he'd signed, which you'll remember I posted in here a week or so before it was even a real rumour so I trust them.

Yeah Takeover is along way away, but after the Joe vs Zayn 2/3 falls match happens. They only have one or two shows to actually build anything between Balor and who ever wins. In the mean time he has a little thing with Apollo Crews and a match with Neville (although that may not be aired) with no segments. So for me it's a bit strange they've got there champ so quiet. Either it's a build for the Bullet Club debut, or he drops the title and moves on. Maybe he'd drop the title, debut Bullet Club, he loses again and they go off the the Main Roster.

Personally i think they need to hold off with Bullet Club till Balor goes up. Then use them to help him with a main event push straight off the bat. Somehow think of something creatively different for them, have them demolish Brock or take apart The Authority. Just book them strong straight off the bat.

One of the reasons i think Balor will be up soon, is that they've just signed Austin Aries... and with Nakamura on his way, Itami coming back. Then Crews, Joe, Corbin, Zayn. It's becoming quite stacked at NXT, so they need to move people on soon.

So I put £1 on Ric flair entering the rumble at 100/1, £10 on AK styles entering which returns £18 and £14 on Lesnar to win it at 3/1.

well, on Nakamura I believe the working plan (always worth pointing out that this can change up to the day of a show with Vince involved) is that he debuts night after Mania on the main roster although vignettes would probably be better. Zayn I expect up around the same time if not the same show. Corbin I expect up in the next year more than I expect Finn.

A lot of this is based on my reading of the booking Nakamura excepted, so you may well be correct, but as of just before Wrestle Kingdom there were no plans for Karl and Doc as I say
