And prime time players have split I've heard

I watched RAW yesterday. The opening bit had so obviously been re-written since the night before that it was cringeworthy and insulting.

Also, why are the New Age Outlaws the tag team champions? Is the entire thing now just a giant back slapping club for half arsed old timers who turn up when they feel like it?

Why is Punk getting stick for sulking off, when the alternative is people like Batista and Orton, who have about as much entertainment value between them as watching a close up of Michael Owen's face on pause for an hour?

Wyatt would also be an excellent character if he actualy had any kind of purpose or agenda, instead of just randomly fueding with people with no explanation why.

Judging by the spoilers for this week's Smackdown:

It's painfully obvious that Batista will face Lesnar at the EC and just when Lesnar is about to defeat Batista, Taker will make an appearance and cost Lesnar the match, leading to them facing off at Wrestlemania. I hope there's an actual explanation why Lesnar is not in the title match at EC when he was contender number one, although ''self-proclaimed''.
There's no logic in putting fecking Cesaro in the match and not Lesnar, especially when he destroyed Big Show at the Royal Rumble. WWE could still save the situation by making the match between Batista and Lesnar as a number 1 contenders match for a shot at the title at Wrestlemania.

Oh and according to some dirtsheet speculation, now that Punk has walked out, Bryan will likely take his place against HHH, which means another potential Bryan screw-up at EC.

If by old timers you mean Triple H's friend's, then yes, and it has been since the early 00's

So, caught up on Raw, WHEN d-bry doesn't win the title at EC therebis going to be outrage

He isn't going to, nor should he. It has to happen at mania. The pay off at EC won't be as big as at mania. Yes chanting a successful defence won't be as big as chanting him winning.

IMO the payoff has always been planned for mania, no matter how many fans want it to happen yesterday. The Bryan fan logic path seems to be

Is Daniel Bryan champion yet?

Yes -> Yes -> Yes -> Yes -> Yes.
No -> make him champion at the next available opportunity.

Fans need to just wait, like good old JR said. The right time is WM.

I totally agree with you. i still think that bringing back the money on the bank match at mania would both add a bit of spice to the show and allow Bryan to cash in at the end of the show. This CM Punk leaving thing looks legit at the moment, i'm unsure what to make of it

Punks contract was coming to an end in July. He wasn't going to get a push in those circumstances especially with the likes of Batista, Cena, Orton, Lesnar around. He should have left in good graces though. It's tough outside the WWE. He still has many years left and he might need to come back.

Can understand why he's pissed when he's been in pointless story lines since august, and as someone who could have been one of the main guys in the authority storyline (over the bloody Big Show) instead he was put in matches against Ryback and fecking Curtis Axel. On top of all that, a 45 year old comes back and gets a guaranteed title shot over guys that deserve it much more. Then again, none of this could be relevant as to why he's walked out. He's looked sloppy lately, and maybe needs a bit of time away from wrestling.

Speaking of Batista, I was actually happy with the news of him returning, until I read that he was set to headline mania. That's just plain wrong. The crowd don't want to see it. They can't keep him face either really, because fans will continue shitting on him and his matches. They must have something up their sleeves because going into mania with an orton - batista main event would be such a disaster.

If Punk is indeed off... then surely it'll be HHH vs. Bryan - which, at least, is actually a match that makes sense.

Can't blame Punk for going home...

NAO are tag champs
Orton is the world champ
Batista is headlining (yes fecking headlining) Wrestlemania and won the rumble
Nash took a spot at the rumble which was completely unnecessary
They've rewrote history and are now saying DX were the main pioneers of the attitude era

What have all these got in common? They're all HHH's friends

NAO had 'you've still got it' chanted at them since they came back, it facilitates the Cody/Goldust split which we knew was coming for their match at WM and also puts the tag titles on a heel opponent for the next face group which IMO will be the Uso's to challenge for. NAO are more over with the crowd than Real Americans for example and with Zeb slapping Swagger recently I'm not sure if they're going to break up anyway. So it's a good move, people can't complain about Bryan being held back with him being so over, and then not put the tag titles on a group that are over.

Orton being the world champ, again puts it on a heel for Bryan to fued with until Mania with the whole authority storyline. There isn't really many other heels ready to be the face of the company for the babyface to get his moment against at Mania. Batista wasn't back when this happened, Brock was otherwise engaged, Sheamus was injured, Del Rio we don't want as champion ever again, yadda yadda.

Batista is headlining Wrestlemania and IMO rightfully. Wrestlemania is now Raw, it's not a B PPV, it's not designed to entertain normal fans. Wrestlemania is about getting the most buys physically possible. Nobody knows who Bryan is who doesn't watch WWE. Nobody who is casual, would buy WM because of a poster with Bryan on it. The guys who watch RAW know who Bryan is, the guys who don't, don't. Wrestlemania is about star power hence the old legends come back for it because it's money. It's nostalgia, it's people remembering 'the animal was a beast a few years ago, I'll tune in and see what he's like now' the same with Hogan coming back and someone will probably complain he stole 5 minutes from Tyson Kidd by appearing etc etc. Wrestlemania is about 'how many people can we get to buy this' and they have to appeal to the casual fan. I also think too many people are getting caught up with 'Batista is headlining WM' that doesn't mean that nobody else can join him. For all you know, Batista, Lesnar and Bryan are headlining WM in a triple threat. For all you know, Batista and Bryan are headlining WM in a singles. You don't know that. People talk like Batista is the only one headlining WM because they're angry that Bryan isn't, even though they don't know yet that Bryan isn't they're just going from the dirtsheets. There comes a time when you have to put the business before yourself. WM 30 is a landmark WM for the company and thus it will focus on the past as much as the future. WM logic is 'will this make us more money? Yes - do it No - don't do it.'

I agree with you on Nash's spot being unrealistic but he was in town anyway doing the kick off party and all of the above, allows the commentators to play the conspiracy angle and fit it into the storyline which helps propel it.

All the talk about HHH behind the scenes is how he's very different to Vince and how great he is with a great mind for the business going places/doing things that Vince wouldn't have done. How he is amazing with the new talent making sure there's a gimmick for them and they're not rushed, making sure that everything is right for them, look at Bray who is HHH's pet project, look how great his gimmick is compared to Husky Harris and how over Bray is and how he's being booked. So on one hand we have this guy who cares about the new talent, who makes sure they've got it ready for them in advance and then as soon as Bryan doesn't win the WWE title, he's a conspiracy guy shitting over the younger talent and making sure all his buddies have it cosy. It's double standards. It's either one or the other.

Oh I personally think Bryan is meh....He's be a mid carder in the Attitude Era...As would 99% of these current wrestlers...I just do feel, and always have felt, that HHH puts ego first before business....The angles and storylines he's booked himself into over the last 3 years is ridiculous and he had no business being in them

Well Batista walks out of WWE in 2009 because of the direction of the company, has a failed MMA carear and returns to headline WM without even competing for over 10 mins, Punk meanwhile hasnt even got a storyline after carrying the company the last 2 years so he has every right to be pissed, WWE knows everybodys gonna watch WM30 anyway and subscribe to the network so they dont give a shit who they bury along the way cause in merchandise Cena is number1 and he isnt going nowhere

Why would they give him a big story with his contract coming to a close(I assume they've offered him new ones and have been rebuffed so far), and put him on top of your show only to let the cnut walk out? They'll never do that again, been burned in the past too many times.

I get where you're coming from, but I don't think Batista needs to be in the title match to get buyrates. Wrestlemania 28, Rock vs. Cena was the big audience grabbing match, but wasn't for the title. Punk vs. Jericho was the WWE title match that night. Anyone wanting to see Batista would tune in whether he was wrestling for the title or not.

Actually, WM28 outsold WM29, so the non-title Rock/Cena match did better than the one that was actually for the title.

But, like you say, Bryan could still be in the title match. I'm just trying to give another angle to it.

So you rather give it to somebody whos already left you for 4 years, is 45, injury prone and terrible worker and on the mic and doesnt even get into proper shape for a Royal Rumble match?

(While pissing off your two top guys in the process where one of them leaves)

theres a new generation of talent that are ready (Punk, Bryan, Reigns, Ziggler, Ambrose, Wyatt) but WWE makes the same mistakes WCW made circa 2001 and they themselves made with Bret at WM in Ceasrs Palace where they didnt trust him enough at the big show

At no point did I say it should have gone to Batista(I absolutely wasn't happy with his Rumble win), but there is no way in hell Vince, or HHH are going to give it to someone who could walk away and burn them, especially someone who(IIRC) has a history of being a troublemaker, and is a known arsehole to boot. It's a reasonable decision too.

I'd have preferred it to go to Bryan, and tbh he could be invovled yet.

If Punk doesn't want to play ball, he can go feck himself. Ambrose isn't ready(sadly, he's one of my faves), Ziggler is overrated to feck because he oversells and has that cnut character the IWC loves, Reigns would have been good too go in fairness, and I'm not sure if Wyatt is ready for the main event either.

Well they went with Michaels for years even though he was a known ass and threatened to leave many times, Austin did leave before and Brock also, Bryan and Punk have done absolutley everything asked of them since they arrived e.g over seas tours, autograph signings etc and are clearly over, for me Vince is using his position in the market against his hardest workers, knowing they really have nowhere else of note to go,

But as I said previously, they know people will still buy WM30 and the WWE Network no matter what happens, so the only way to get any sort of change in the WWEs policy would be to effect their income i.e Boycott of WWE Network which will not happen, PPV Revenue is 100% more important than what the real fans want to see, You think HHH could go on Good Morning America tomorrow and try and sell WM30 because Bryan is headling against Wyatt and people would give a shit or know who those guys are

Michaels is one of "their boys" though, always was. Austin and Brock are/were far and above more superstar/money/over than Bryan or especially Punk will ever be, they obviously will get away with shit, the Rock or Cena would have too. Santino probably does everything that's asked of him too.

If HHH did go on Good Morning America or whatever, most non-fans/casuals would far more likely think, "who the hell is he on about, where is *********, has he no big stars". For ********** enter whatever wrestler they have heard of, or used to follow, Lesnar, for example.
