Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

Not sure I want to rewatch Ospreay-Jericho.... there's no way that sounds as good as I thought it was from the crowd, though I still can't see how Meltzer gives that one a 5*.... but not putting it past him.

TK coming out at the end off his tits announcing next years was hysterical. He's so awful, in such a lovable way, to the point where I'm not sure if he is actually just a billionaire mark, or there's some character in there he's playing, because I know nothing of him outside of this, but given even MJF drops the schtick now and then, I'm guessing he's just a billionaire mark.

Its probably this  But tbh, it leads to really great shows even if the build is questionable at times.
Sting coming out to Metallica for example is just awesome.

They've hit gold with the MJF and Adam Cole storyline as well. Much like the Sami stuff in the Bloodline it just kind of happened organically and they've rolled with it. Was fully expecting Cole to turn last night but was happy with the swerve in the end as it's still got a lot of mileage in it. The pair of them have never been so over and must be doing a mint on merch the amount of 'better than you baybay' and 'double clothesline' tees I saw on the night.

Also I will say this about AEW, they're not afraid to throw the home town a bone, putting Saraya and Ospreay over and sending them home happy with the main event. I thought that was where WWE was a let down with Clash at the Castle. Could've easily put Seamus or Drew over in the UK and switched it back later but they seem more hung up on creating pointless streaks and records that ultimately mean nothing.

Yeah, no way saraya should have won or people would have wanted it if it was not the home town wrestler.
But the reaction was great. They need to follow it up at all out though with something big. The womens division has not been good for a while and I expected a long run for Shida.

Just finished watching All In. Way too many gimmick matches for my taste and I really can't get into the Lucha style trios matches.

Punk vs Joe was a good opener, and the Jericho vs Ospreay match delivered in spades. Young Bucks vs FTR was as good as you'd expect that match to be albeit not an all time classic.

I can imagine the main event will be divisive as it was overbooked to the max, and cheesy as hell. Properly cringey melodrama. On the other hand, I was engrossed in every single moment of it and the crowd absolutely ate it up - which I think are the two main metrics for whether a match is great.

Overall an event I struggled to enjoy, especially compared to other AEW events, primarily because of the overload of multi-man and stipulation matches but the highlights made it feel like a solid show overall.

What was going on with the crowd though? They sounded deathly quiet for most of the entrances, particularly the heel entrances. Not much enthusiasm during the first couple of hours of matches either. It was like they all felt awkward being the first one to cheer or chant. The FTR vs Young Bucks banger finally woke them up and they were good by the end.

^I suspect those who were there will completely disagree. I do have a feeling they fecked up with the crowd mics early on and then fixed it later.

Dunno if that's true of cole, he's always been over everywhere he goes. This just happens to be his first major storyline in aew, since he's been pretty start/stop with injuries and whatever since he came over.

What cracked me up watching it back today is that 90% of what they showed during the Stadium Stampede match was shown in the ring. They spent fecking ages fighting backstage and you kind of wonder what was the point if they weren't going to show it

I don't think i've witnessed so many umbrellas get broken.

Yeah the Stadium Stampede was clearly geared towards folks watching at home, I had absolutely no idea what was going on for most of it.

Apparently Punk and Jack Perry are both suspended pending an investigation into their brawl…

What a mess that AEW locker room is. Both the men and women’s division seems absolutely toxic

Not insanely far from the truth to be fair. From the main show, the 3 best crowds were the the 3 singles matches mostly.... take from that what you want Tony.

Tbh, I just rewatched and I think crowd mics were fecked throughout.

Yeah there were a few moments when it was suddenly turned up and it sounded like a proper wrestling crowd. That audio feck up was pretty consequential, as it seriously alters the viewing experience at home.

I'd actually argue that was how it was in the stadium. Being SUCH a big crowd, it was hard to maintain a massive noise.

Was incredibly good though.

Crowd was loud throughout I'd say especially with the first few matches and the last couple. There was a slight dip in the middle and the Golden Elite v BCG match felt a bit flat at times from where I was sat.

It's obvious they mic'd the ring up pretty heavy as the bumps sounded amazing.

Three guesses at who the guy who handles travel logistics is best friends with.

He really does work with some childish scrotes.
Is it that dude who was liking anti-punk tweets?
Punk having to take the train is nuts.

Yeah crowd was great for most of it, Punk vs Joe, Omega, Saraya winning, and the main event had particularly huge reactions, but even the quieter matches were still fairly loud.

Taz said he could feel the collective "Boom!" on the Cole entrance.

Yeah I was rolling that up in the main event, unless you mean the tag match but people were still filing in at that point (I was trying to run to my seat with a couple of full beers which didn't go well ).

That's a mind-boggling level of pettiness! I was aware that there were a bunch of nepotism hires in the company, but didn't realise quite the extent of it.

Jeez we were close, I was immediately behind the foam finger in that clip!

 cool.

Had some annoying drunken Scot next to us just going "feck off" throughout the whole thing and being deliberately contrarian in seemingly every match. God he was annoying. I think even his friends were sick of him by the end.

Ugh, hate people like that. Trying to make it about themselves.

Anyway , I'm thinking about it but for next year they gotta build it big and imo possibly have Ospreay as the main event.
And hopefully more one on ones / less gimmicks to make the gimmick matches mean more

I think that will only happen if he signs with them and I kind of get the impression that giving him all these opportunities is Tony dangling a big carrot in front of him. From what he's said in the past he doesn't want to live in America but then Pac doesn't either so hopefully they can work something out.

Speaking of which Pac and Hayter both better be fit enough to be on the show next year. Jamie v Mercedes would be a potential co main event.

Just finished watching it back. I was surprised at how subdued the atmosphere sounded on the broadcast. The crowd was almost deafening for the most part (or atleast where I was sat).

Did anyone else use the stadium stampede match for a beer and food run?

Hopefully, All In at Wembley becomes AEW's mania level event. It was brilliant.

All Out card is looking pretty brutal at the moment, can't see myself getting it really.

Khan says he'll do a double event next year too. I call bullshit, he's double downing on this year and it'll be more spread out next year, with better builds for both.

Yeah that I don't believe, they've gotta find a way to space them apart, otherwise All Out will always be an afterthought going forward

Doesnt he want All Out in Chicago for Labor day weekend (this will be third in a row) whilst All In will be London (second in a row next year) on Aug Bank holiday weekend
Im guessing hr really does want it that way.

He must be handcuffed by serious bargains for the locations and dates to be fair, any other reason is utterly psychotic, which Khan also is.

Watching dynamite
The Canadian destroyer is basically an armdrag equivalent now. Just weird how dropping someone on their head isnt seen as anything but a middle move.

Also smackdown was fun but then the whole Jimmy uso thing is very strange.
Cena is great.
La knight v miz has been very much fun
I'm liking the lashley with profits team up too.

From undeniable to undesirable, punk sacked...

Good riddance to an absolute cnut.

Recently started watching WWF, WCW and ECW from the start of the Monday night wars and it's all wonderfully shite so far.

Shame, because he's had some great moments in aew. He returned because of how they kept a lot underwraps regards to Brodie, yet it seems everything has been leaked since he got there.

Was cool seeing him at All In tbf, wonder what's next for him
