Salford is very sensitive to criticism of Roman or the Bloodline, you aren't the first to have a comment jumped on with a hyperbole loaded response. I half agree with you, Roman is still pretty bland on the mic, and he's wrestled the same match every time he shows up for a few years now, but his character work has improved immeasurably and he carries himself so much better than he used to. The success of the Bloodline story though has been down to Jay and Sami more than anyone though, at least in my book.

I think he's improved massively on the mic and very good at playing to the live audience now, which used to kill him in the past.

I would give him a lot of credit for the bloodline stuff personally, but my gripe is he rarely has matches and when he does they are all exactly the same. He gets beat up then someone appears to save him at the last second. It stopped being interesting 2 years ago and they're still rinse and repeating it. He's built and presented as a monster opponent but you'd probably have to go back years to find him legitimately winning a match against anyone at this point....which is really fecking stupid for someone who's supposed to be "the most dominant champion of the modern era"

Ignoring Jimmy's recent turn, this is all a part of the story of dethroning him though. He's been built up as this monster heel, final boss type character but always has to rely on his family to get the win. Cody said it and i bet you it'll be played over and over again, and that's the usos left. Then solo is going to leave, and then heyman will leave. At that point Roman will be by himself through his own fault, and that's the point hell lose the title because he's got no one to save him.

No, definitely not. There is no Bloodline story or success what so ever without Reigns. He’s hands down been the stand out performer of the last two or so years with his character work.

I think they honestly wanted The Rock in there with him but it just never managed to materialise. Now I don’t think there’s any doubt that they’re doing a long story with Cody to have him be the one to dethrone Roman at Wrestlemania next year. It’s been a fantastic story overall with everybody involved and I’m confident it all comes to an end at Wrestlemania.

Not really understanding why people are saying the Jey and Jimmy stuff makes no sense. If you’ve watched regular then you’ve seen plenty of stuff dropped to give reasons behind the turn. Also, maybe, just maybe let them explain it all before saying it makes no sense? There’s a lot to complain about with the WWE but imo this story isn’t one of them. In fact it’s crazy thatthey’ve managed to make it such a hot story for so long.

That's a huge exaggeration to me, you're right that there's no Bloodline without Reigns, but it also wouldn't have worked without Heyman, the Uso's, Sami, they've all been integral (and it really picked up after Sami got involved). Even then, this WM wouldn't have felt nearly as big without Cody, the actual stand out performer, as the opponent. It isn't Reigns carrying it at all.

His character work is good but the group has masked his deficiencies too, with Heyman doing a lot of the talking and Sami keeping the story interesting when it was getting stale

As for the latest Jimmy and Jay stuff, it makes sense them breaking from the Bloodline, but then Jimmy diving right back in? Nah that's just silly. Hopefully it does end at Mania, which would be a 1 Mania later than it should have, but I won't be holding out much hope.

He's definitely improved, but he was dreadful before, whereas now he's decent, but he isn't among the top talkers around. And you're right, by all accounts he deserves huge amounts of credit for the Bloodline stuff, he pushed hard to move away from the bland super-Reigns character he was forced into, and put together a group that compliments him really well, but he couldn't have carried it by himself, due to the issues you've mentioned - the same match again and again, only being around part time, etc.

The card for All In is looking really disappointing. Kenny in a trios match? Ospreay vs Jericho? (both rumoured).

One of the biggest wrestling shows of all time and Khan is treating it like a throwaway Dynamite. What in the actual feck.

They've already sold the tickets, so probably think the UK audience will be happy with whatever they are given. Rather than build a memorable card that builds a UK AEW audience forever, they are taking it for granted and seemingly giving more attention to their show in Chicago two weeks later. Mental.

The fact that it’s 2 weeks away and the card is nowhere to be seen in itself is a fecking disaster

When promoting the show all they harp on about is tickets sold…..ok now build to the fecking matches maybe?

Seem to be treating it the same as WWE used to treat UK shows in the attitude era. Except WWE weren't stupid enough to host a barely glossed up house show at an 80,000 seater stadium.

Even more stupid when you think how much it would cost to hire out Wembley as a venue and the cheap ticket prices. You'd think it would make sense to really maximise on the event and exposure otherwise what's really the point?

To be fair, AEW is terrible at building PPV's from what I can gather generally. And at least All In has the MJF-Cole stuff to it.

But it's clear as day he got it due to his connections at an insane bargain price, thus being able to sell half the tickets in the heavens for £25, which is dirtcheap for a Wembley day out regardless of event... as it wasn't booked by anything else on a Bank Holiday weekend, otherwise why's he booking it knowing full well it's a few weeks out of the All Out cycle too

But I don't see the card as bad as some. But you were never getting Punk vs Omega this soon, or I dunno, Kenny vs Ospreay III, again, just too soon. Kenny tends to pad his stuff out.

It's already gonna be one of the biggest wrestling shows in history, and yet it's a disaster? That's beyond hyperbole.

They've been building various matches for months, just that some of them couldn't be announced in advance as it'd spoil where the story is going. I genuinely don't understand the complaining about the card, I think it looks great, and AEW generally put on fantastic PPVs even when the builds have been lacking.

In terms of tickets sold? Sure. In terms of build and the quality of the card its looking lacklustre to say the least in my opinion

It will be a good show but they’ve had an awful build up to it outside if the MJF storyline

There's a world of difference between lacklustre and a disaster. I personally expect it'll be one hell of a show, AEW usually smashes the PPV events, and the build has been fine - Punk vs Joe has been building since Collision started, the Darby/Swerve stuff has been going on for a while, the women's title match is 4 women who are regularly interacting. Jericho will be involved, but the match can't really be announced yet without spoiling his current story. The only dodgy build really is the FTR vs the Bucks, which is mostly because you don't want to let the latter anywhere near a mic, and for Omega who really should be involved somehow.

Think it's utterly ridiculous having ppvs back to back the way AEW are doing it. The builds for both and the cards for both have sufferes because of it.

Also, said this before, but someone else needs to be making the decisions in aew, not Tony. He's too much of a fan. If there's any ounce of truth about certain talent being told to go home from collison (I'm genuinely dubious) because punk said so, can only imagine he's lost the respect of a lot of talent.

Aew shouldnt have announced anything bar the main event for all In.
Just have everything be a surprise...

Just reading up on all this stuff thats apparently going on backstage at AEW with Punk/Collision etc.

You have to wonder if he's really worth all this hassle?

Nope. I honestly couldn't care less if he's at all in or not. Dude is a toxic cancer, fragile as feck. Ticking time bomb that will inevitably go off.

I think "dubious" is being generous, given it's coming from Meltzer who's regularly twisted things to make Punk look bad recently, and has been caught doing so.

Plus he definitely is worth it if Collision is anything to go by, it means the glorified indy stuff stays on Dynamite and we get a proper wrestling show.

Is it coming from meltzer? Pretty certain it was off a patreon podcast? (Unless meltzer is apart of said podcast).

Pretty sure it was from Fightful.

While I think the All In card looks mostly pretty good, I'm really disappointed that Omega and Jay White will be wasted in a trios match. Hangman, Ibushi (as someone who doesn't watch NJPW, I don't know who this guy is, and AEW hasn't given me any reason to care), Takeshita, and even Juice aren't a huge loss, but Omega and White are brilliant and it's a shame they're being dragged down by association.

How do you know White then? Purely from AEW? Ibushi looked ridiculously out of shape in that blood and guts match as well. I hope he comes into this looking better because he's genuinely an incredible wrestler.

But yeah I'm feeling slightly disappointed for the same reasons. Might be the only chance I ever get to see Kenny and I wanted singles Kenny against anyone really over this nonsense. And as for Jericho politicking his way to a match against Ospreay...not impressed. Hopefully Will can drag something decent out of him.

I'm sure like most AEW PPV's it will be a cracking show and the crowd will be well up for it but I really wanted more singles matches on it in all honesty. That said I expect FTR v YB and Cole v MJF will be great and we'll get some unexpected bangers on the night. Just seems slightly like a wasted opportunity to me. All Out being the week after has absolutely not helped either. I hope that doesn't mean loads of matches with interreference as well to set that up or people will get pissed.

White I know from his AEW appearances, including back when he was a visiting attraction, but he made me take notice from his very first promo, and since being on Collision I'm convinced he's destined to be a very top star. He should be in a singles match, as should Omega who's a completely different animal in singles.

As for Jericho vs Ospreay, I'm actually excited for it, if Ospreay is half the wrestler he's made out to be then he'll be able to put on a stellar match with Jericho who, while aging, is still a great of the ring and knows the storytelling and psychological side. It might not be all action, but it could easily be top drama.

I definitely agree about not wanting many dodgy finishes, but it looks like All Out is going to be a chance to feature the folks who won't get on the card at Wembley (looks like Hobbs and Miro will be going at it for example), with possibly one or two follow ons from All In (like perhaps the Omega singles match we're not getting).

I assumed All In would be instead of All Out (Well I got confused and thought it was always called All In). Just seems weird and pointless to have both.

AEW’s Cash Wheeler Arrested for Aggravated Assault With a Firearm - Wrestling News | WWE and AEW Results, Spoilers, Rumors & Scoops

Cash Wheeler, real name Daniel Wheeler, is facing one count of aggravated assault with a firearm after being arrested on Friday morning by the Orlando Police Department.

The Orlando Sentinel reported the news. According to county records following the arrest, Wheeler was booked in Circuit Court. No further details were given.

FTR (Wheeler and Dax Harwood) is currently the AEW Tag Team Champions. They’re scheduled to defend the titles against The Young Bucks at the All In pay-per-view event on August 27th from Wembley Stadium.

Has this idiot just fecked the tag team title match?

Havent been keeping up with AEW as much after the first couple of Collision shows. The Punk situation has left a bad taste for me and I havent been as interested in watching the shows.

The Cash arrest sounds pretty bad. Obviously need to wait for a bit more information but unless it was an extended family member pulling a weapon on him first, or the story is made up and the police clear it quickly, then he's made a really stupid mistake with very bad timing. And he shouldnt have been on tv wrestling with a warrant out.

Collision is good. I enjoy collision a lot, regardless of punk. Deffo worth giving a go.

Not watched a Dynamite or a Smackdown in full in god knows.

I didnt enjoy it as much as Dynamite, but I have been keeping a general eye on Starks and therefore Punk because of working together. I like Starks so would be interested to see what they do to elevate him.

Other than that I wasnt into the storylines

All In is cursed...

Bucks/ftr 2 was great and reckon third could have been fantastic. Obviously might still be a big chance it goes ahead and he can travel over.

The build for All In has been meh outside the main event.
Also reckon Jericho wanted to be a face going into this event with 80k to be singing his Bands song

Thing is he probably won’t be face since it’s in England. The crowd will sing his song regardless, since it’s a banger. Still miss his list persona. Best/funniest stuff of his career. Should’ve ended on a higher note if Vince didn’t screw him.

I still watch all the AEW TV religiously, but the All In build hasn’t convinced me of another slog to Wembley after two trips for United this year. Danielson, Pac and Hayter injuries have really hurt the build for this one. I’d be sorely regretting it now FTR v The Young Bucks will be off too. I’m certain the show will deliver on the night, but I’m not salivating right now.

Logan Paul is boxing in I think October.

Think there's a fair chance he picks up some sort of title before that just for the advertising.
