He had Roman beat and lost due to interference, in the main event of Wrestlemania and he's massively over, yet people on here think he's buried?
People used buried far too often and it's lost meaning.

Everyone has had Roman beat and lost due to interference, it's the same match every time. Just like all the others before him, Cody will now end up in the mid card, probably feuding with Solo, while we wait another year for Roman to hit 1000 days.

He hits 1000 days in about 2 months. Everything will be fine.

Still doesn't make it worth throwing away such a great opportunity, and realistically we'll have to wait until mania next year for any chance of Roman dropping the titles.

Not bothered if it’s Cody or whoever but where does he go from here? he’s beat everybody on the roster and had the belt for 3 years if Cody doesn’t take it at Mania how can he drop it to anybody? Cody coming off his time in AEW is one of the biggest stars in wrestling
Not Seth. I don't know if they will go there but really the only guy who should realistically beat Roman is Seth. Roman's story has been about family, his cousins. I think it's poetic that while he brow beat his cousins into submission, ultimately his "brother" is the one to end his reign.

Of course he has another brother down in AEW but I doubt they're convincing him to jump ship anytime soon.

Not buried. But they had the chance to make Cody a massive star and blew it. They are relying too heavily on Roman and aren't building up too many others. Who can realistically take the title off him now? Last night was the time to do it. Why have Cody come back to win the Rumble only to lose to Roman? Waste of time. And interference again in the main event.

Will be amazing if Ambrose returned and beat Roman but yeah, seems a pipe dream unfortunately.

At the moment I don’t know what they have planned for this going forward? Maybe Solo winning the rumble and dethroning his cousin at next years mania? Sounds underwhelming but I’m literally lost for ideas as like many have said, it just didn’t make sense for Roman to retain against Cody. Especially when they have bigged him up massively when he returned from injury at the rumble and then just seemed the stars were aligned for him to win his first undisputed championship.

The bookies even had Cody as the overwhelming favourite which must be a first to have Reigns as the underdog. Hindsight I wished I had stuck a few quid on it.

For me at least, It was rhe right call, i dont see what people see in little Cody rhodeth. Uninteresting on the mic, average in the ring, no intensity, the 3rd best Rhodes.

That's probably the worst shout of the year thus far.

I think Roman will lose the title at SummerSlam. He's due to take some time off after SS and he would have passed the 1000 day mark by then.

They could go with Cody as the man to do it, build him up Rocky style. But personally I don't think he should be the one. The one to end such a historic run should be someone who's inextricably linked to Roman. It should either be Seth or Jey. Seth for reasons quite obvious and Jey because this whole Bloodline thing started with Jey, so would make sense for him to end it as well.

I didn’t know that was the case as all the reports before Mania weekend stated that he was going to go on a hiatus after Mania and return for SS.

I guess that’s obviously out the window now and will just wait to see what transpires. Literally don’t know what direction they are going to go with this now. I like the idea of Jey winning it as you stated but I guess we will wait and see.

Wow, that's some statement. Personally, I really like Cody. I used to think he was boring and only really had anything interesting to offer when he was partnered with and then fueding with his brother (Stardust) but since his return (despite the lengthy injury) I've really warmed to him. He's a fecking amazing wrestler and has some sick moves, he got charisma and he looks in outstanding condition physically.

For me he was the perfect choice to beat Roman and I thought it was nailed on before he got injured, however after watching the tag titles drop I had a horrible suspicion that meant Roman would win. It's fecking boring. The constant interference wins are boring. Gunther is boring too. Both he and Roman need to have a cage match and someone come in and take the straps of both of them.

Can't argue with pausing the match. If anything you wonder how he even continued.

You could've had Snoop bring out LA Knight and had 80,000 people screaming "YEAH!" but we get Shane and his self-indulgent shite again. That went well.

Will hair grow from that spot again or is Finn gonna have a big bald scar?

I genuinely don't see any charisma in him. He bores the living shit out of me. Now roman I like.

Roman is genuinely one of the worst champions i've ever seen, if he was winning clean all the time it'd be different but he's the Man City of WWE, needs to cheat to win constantly. It's honestly pathetic how they keep using the same shitty story for him all the time.

Of course he cheats, he's a heel, that's why people tune in, in the hope to see the hated heel get beaten. They tried him as a face and he was dull as feck.

Would absolutely love it if this was just part of a longer story with Rhodes and Reigns. Have Cody fail first time around only to rebuild for the next 8 or so months, win the Rumble again and finally dethrone Reigns next year at Wrestlemania.

Not very confident this will actually happen though

Absolutely brilliant main event though and a genuine shock imo to see Cody not win. Great Wrestlemania overall. Gunter triple threat match the match of the weekend for me.

But he cheats every single time, it's getting boring as feck now. If they really want to keep him as champ they should have him win clean for once, it won't make him a face but will make him look like an actual champ.

And that's why I love to hate wrestling, we all see it differently. I like Roman, he's just fecking boring and very, very one dimensional. Every single match is the same with him and all this tribal chief/head of the table bollocks is some of the most cringe worthy shite I have seen for years. It's embarrassing tbh. I also don't think he's great on the mic either. He lacks charisma and humour or anything that separates him from everyone else.

Also, Paul Heyman is reduced to being nothing more than a walk in guy. He was woefully underused last night and it's a shame because he's a genius when he is utilised properly.

After it ended last night me and my lads watched the classic hell in a cell with HHH, Undertaker, Rikishi, Kurt Angle, Stone Cold and The Rock.... And eventually Mick Foley...

Roman can't come close to any of those except poor Rikiishi but thankfully he was never made Champion for nearly 3 years. Cody, Seth, Brock, Bray Wyatt, Drew, Rey, Edge, Orton, even Braun Strowman...... They all have something more to offer than Roman imho...... At the very least they would make it interesting again and even if Roman regains (lol) it would still be better than watching him fail to land a superman punch and botch a spear before getting bailed out by his family all the time.

Edge needs to show him how to deliver a spear properly, that's for sure. If you're going to use one of the most simple and boring finishing moves then you best do it properly. Sadly Romans never look convincing to me, always a bit wet.

Edge's are crap too. A running hug. WWE should employ Rhyno to teach people how to do them.

Was just thinking this. Roman losing to Seth and the Seth v Cody 3 where Cody wins? Although Seth is quite over as a face at the moment. Would like to see Gunther in the main event next year.

The story was that he had to win after Roman and Heyman made out that Roman is the son Dusty wished he had. Cody said now I have to beat him. He didnt. Roman was right, Cody was cooked and now Roman has beat him, like the rest of the field, so its an interest killer. Everyone loses due to interference and because it happens all the time Cody should be expecting it.

How many times in the past year or 18 months did you think Roman was going to get beat? This was the only time. Up until Sami getting thrown out of the Bloodline they tuned in to cheer Roman. Now he does get boo'd

I love Seth he’s probably my fav wrestler but he’s been beat by Cody 3 times in a row including beating him with 1 arm. Feels a bit off with Seth at the minute.

Looks like that’s the way it’s going though Roman was planting the seed over the weekend

They will need to build Seth back up a bit that's why I think SummerSlam is the moment where Roman could lose. Gives them 4 months to build Seth back.

As an aside, I have to say I'm surprised by how many people have liked this current iteration of his. He's fantastic in the ring but his character has been that of a giant loser the past 2 years and he's seemed happy to play it as well.

Surely he has enough pull now backstage to ask for his character to be that of a serious competitor again. Hopefully it changes now and he goes back to being built as a viable challenger to Roman.

It would be Seth v Cody 4. Cody has already beaten him three times. I think most forget their backlash match haha

Fantastic match, and it was produced by Abyss.

Think
1: IC title
2. Womens SD title
3. Usos vs KO/Sami
4. Undisputed title (change of finish probably puts this top)
5. Mens tag team show case

were my fav matches of the two nights.

People like it cos of crowd interaction especially with his entrance music. Its the reason hes a 'face'.
Hes lost matches but hes at a point where hes already been champ, been made and the losses dont affect him as long as he gets a win here or there.
In fact, the obvious thing for him would be to say during Romans reign as champ, Roman hasnt beaten him as seth won by DQ (nor has he ever beaten Seth)
