On another note it makes more sense for WM to be split between two separate cities and I won’t put it past HHH to do so. No point in having one City bid for two nights when they can double the profit

Yeah a few folks are struggling with the definition of "main event" here - there's only one WM main event (which is Reigns vs Cody tonight). As long as both nights fall under the Wrestlemania umbrella, then the main event will be the final match that happens.
I imagine it's more lucrative to have them in the same place - as long as both nights are sell outs - as they don't have to worry about transporting the set (or even taking it down), everyone is in the same place, etc.
I expect a couple more of the PPVs will end up across two days, Summerslam and Royal Rumble are great candidates.

How long was Subway marketed as healthy? Marketing means nothing. And no those matches weren't the Wreslemania main event, as the company deemed another match as bigger and more important each time.
A main event is a singular offering by definition, at most the main event for night 1 is exactly that, the main event for the first night, but not Wrestlemania as a whole - in years past they would have been the penultimate match.
Given that WM is effectively a multi day festival rather than a single offering, they should use the term headliners instead.
