Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

After Raw on Monday I had this sneaky feeling Roman would win. Against all logic, all build up.

Acknowledge him, you're witnessing greatness.

He had him beat. Everyone feels robbed. Fair play I guess. In such disbelief.

As long as it's not the rock :nervous:

Wondering if they are thinking Cody needs a loss, then to build him up and take it? Dunno. I'm intrigued to see where it goes but Cody was super hot and it peaked for mania

Cody can feud with Solo now. No one on Roman's level.

Backlash is may 6
Assume Roman won't be there so that's another 30 days added to his reign so around 975. Will probably then appear on raw or smackdown close to the 1000.

Overall loved wrestlemania. That main event was hot and think they should have had Cody win it imo, as WWE don't tend to do faces correctly and they got one pretty much gifted that is the same age as Roman.

Edit: I think king of the ring in Saudi is 999 days :nervous:

From someone who’s not watched a WWE show in years, as hot as Cody supposedly is right now, him beating Reigns is not believable.

Roman will drop it clean at 40 to a small technical guy, following on the pattern from 10 (Bret), 20 (Benoit) and 30 (Bryan).

I have to say there have been some cracking matches these last two days, but the main event was a huge let down. Roman winning is a joke. The fact all the main belts haven't changed hands for a year at least (I know the tag team changed the other night) says it all about how stale it's all become. Such a shame as there are so many great wrestlers out there. Cody should have won imho.

As most know I had tickets for this mania and me and my lad should have been there. I've just gone online to check and can anyone explain to me why tickets for mania 40 are already three times the price than they were for 39 and for much worse seats too?

I haven't watched yet but is it really surprising Roman won? I don't think so. I thought Cody probably would win though.

Another interference win in a main event victory for Roman. Half of this reign should come with a fecking asterisk at this point.

It became boring a long time ago - feels like the belts are being held hostage.

Not for me. It’s about the third ppv in a row that we’ve been told the moment is ruined for a title change only for the next defence to be bigger and better.
Cody may have become too big, too quickly. There isn’t much more more elevation he can have if he did win last night.
Fans get themselves worked and it’s fecking hilarious

Been a while since I have enjoyed hearing that a babyface got jobbed out like that. Not sure I will ever be able to take Cody seriously as a face ever again.

Wow

What in the actual feck.

Great 2 nights with a legit shocking main event that’s probably killed Cody

Not sure where they go from here that was stupid

Not bothered if it’s Cody or whoever but where does he go from here? he’s beat everybody on the roster and had the belt for 3 years if Cody doesn’t take it at Mania how can he drop it to anybody? Cody coming off his time in AEW is one of the biggest stars in wrestling

If Cody isn’t believable then there’s not a wrestler on the roster capable because he’s one of the biggest stars in wrestling currently

It’s been one of the best WWE storylines in years with the Bloodline vs Sami, KO and Cody this would have been the ultimate pay off but it seems like they don’t want the story to end I just hope they don’t go too far and mess it up

You just hope they have something better planned as it could get really stale with Roman being part time. Let’s hope Cody can keep the momentum he’s built. Will be interesting to see what happens on Raw tonight and after. They would have expected the backlash for Roman to win so surely must have something in mind going forward.

Sami was a big part of the Roman storyline both in and out of the bloodline. They really have to get creative going forward.

Then wtf are you arguing about if you understand this key and simple fact

It might be semantics, but it's pretty clear - Wrestle mania as a single event has a single main event, which is the final match.

Basically "night 1 main event" is not "Wrestlemania main event".

Well fans said this after the last WM v Brock and they then went on to create two super faces in the space of a year just by teasing a title win v Roman.
Maybe Jay White who defeated a similar beast in Okada? Gunther could step up by Summerslam. Jey finishes and ends the Bloodline story?
It looks empty now but if I told you a year ago fans would be begging for a Sami or a Cody win v Roman by seasons end it would have looked empty as well

Cody is a ready made star though they could have still built those other wrestlers you mentioned regardless of tonight’s result.

Cody and Sami are 2 of the hottest baby faces in the business and in the space of 6 weeks have both been beaten by Roman. I love this storyline but they have to be careful a story can easily be ruined, I just don’t see where they go to get to this exact moment again with a red hot babyface in a position to win his first world title with everything they’ve built along with it.

They’ll end up going round in circles they’ve almost definitely completely fecked it up. Montreal 6 weeks ago and Cody tonight won’t be matched again.

I’m guessing Cody vs Solo will be the programme and Roman has been calling out Seth all weekend I think they’re already moving on

Reckon that outcome and finish might have buried Cody.

Not sure what happens now with RR but it's getting boring, Bloodline bailing him out every title fight going and seems like giving him both titles was a mistake as now he can't possibly lose. Seems a mess and interested where they go.

So deflated after that main event - it's the first match in ages with WWE that I've genuinely cared about the result, it had the huge match feel that nobody else on the roster could deliver as they've all been buried by Reigns, the stars were aligned perfectly but instead we had the exact same layout and finish as every other Roman match, but this time there's no ongoing Sami storyline to keep it interesting.

I want to see where WWE goes with it, of course. But I reckon yesterday was the perfect culmination of everything and Cody winning it would have taken him to the next level. He had it all, the fan support, the story, (the adversity of coming back from the torn pec) and the match was special where Cody was undefeated vs Romans streak, Cody is there every week, Cody and Reigns had never faced each other and seemingly 99% of the stadium all behind him. I dont think you can get it any bigger than that for Cody.

Him winning would have cemented him as a top top star, Reigns doesnt lose anything from it cos hes had the epic run, and with Cody winning it opens up new feuds and challengers.

Nowwith Reigns winning, whos beats him? Jey Uso if they try heat him up as a singles guy, but I dont think he gets to the level of Sami and Cody. Reigns has beaten all the top guys. So somebody from NXT like Bron? Gunter is a heel and I dont think would get to the level of Cody. Another guy from the outside?

I just cant see cody winning it down the line being as special as this moment would have been, or a bigger moment and culmination. At best it matches it, but then, if thats the case, you gotta do it on the big stage where it will be memorable end and be a memory for years to come.

Im just thinking of huge title changes happening at mania, and how it would have been if they instead had the guy lose(to win it down the line)
eg HBK losing the ironman match.
Austin losing to HBK (with Tyson as enforcer)
Batista or Benoit losing to HHH.
Kofimania
Or Danielson losing to Batista or Orton?

Part of me is hoping they have something big big planned, but right now it has that feeling of Sting vs Hogan at Starrcade.

Just watched night 2 and feel deflated after that main event. First match in a very long time that I have felt hugely invested in and it just felt now was the perfect time for a new champion and a new chapter to be written. Everything just made total sense for Cody to win. The bloodline vs Cody, KO & Sami storyline was one of the best ones they have done in a while and it just felt right on how it firstly ended on night one with Sami & KO capturing the tag titles for the very first time as a tag team and then for Cody finishing the story off. I just don’t know what they have in store now as it’s going to take something monumental to top that. Another 365 days for Roman as champ. Don’t know who down the line they have as the person that will stop the streak?

Anyways, really enjoyed the whole Mania weekend. Rhea vs Flair and that HIAC Finn vs Edge match were brilliant in particular.

The only thing I can think of is that they're aiming for 1000 days, and booking for stats. Either that or they have no idea who to put on top yet.

Cody was genuinely ideal, he had the credibility that nobody else in the company had as they'd already been fed to Roman, he was the homecoming kid, and he has the Rhodes story as well.

Another problem is that Reign's reign (no pun intended) is really stale, he's part time, has had basically the same match for the last 2 years, Sami making everyone break character was good as life support but this was the time to give the story a good finish.

He had Roman beat and lost due to interference, in the main event of Wrestlemania and he's massively over, yet people on here think he's buried?

You won’t be laughing when he’s put in a mid-card feud with Solo for the coming months…

The thing with Endeavor is a bit bizarre? so it’s a merger of sorts with McMahon taking on a massive roll over both companies? Thought he was looking to sell the thing

Everyone has had Roman beat and lost due to interference, it's the same match every time. Just like all the others before him, Cody will now end up in the mid card, probably feuding with Solo, while we wait another year for Roman to hit 1000 days.
