Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

I've been watching back through RAW from 1997 and some of the promos and angles back then I'm not even sure how they got away with at the time.

Like Farooq being one of the biggest heels in the company based on his gimmick of speaking out against racial discrimination.

Pretty sure there was also an episode at some point where Austin was wandering about all night with a gun because he wanted to shoot Vince
Wait until you get to Capitol Carnage (I think) when Vince roars that the next PM will be of Pakistani extraction as a heel promo and gets booed because of it!

AEW has gotten into the the bad habit of just throwing matches together rather than them having any meaning - they could get away with it a bit when they had the rankings as a win would intrinsically have value but at the moment not many of the matches outside of PPVs actually matter.

Punk is a huge miss, he's one of the all time greats when it comes to getting folks invested in a programme, and instead we're getting the same trios match every week.

Regal leaving AEW makes the whole Mox/MJF stuff even more bizarre.
In fact, they have Winter is Coming not this wed, but next Wed and the main event of Starks/MJF is set. How can you have a match for the title between these two and not even had a promo battle. MJF has hardly mentioned Starks and Starks is more focused on the battle royal this week (and even then whilst he mentioned he wants to take the ring and then the title of MJF it seems his focus / feud is with Ethan Page)

Ricky has the sass

Edit - Oh and the Regal interview was nonsense. They really messed everything up trying to get him out of there quickly. Costing his own guy the title as a final lesson, and making MJF's life miserable by giving him the title is about as dumb an explanation as you could come up with. Lets say Regal had some logic. Now MJF has to stay in the company, lose the title and not want to get it back. That sure makes for a compelling future for him doesnt it. The BCC doesnt need me line doesnt really work when Mox lost the title, because of Regal. So yeah

Apparently TK let him out of his contract early with the agreement that Regal wont be on tv, and Regal's appeal that he wants to work with his son who is in NXT and is featuring weekly. That could easily just be the sympathetic excuse to get out and go do important backstage work as Triple H's #2 though lets be honest.

So only the ROH library from 2011 onward will be available on the app which tied into the idea that not only did he over pay for ROH video library but he didn’t even buy all of it.
Of course Meltzer etc dismissed it but it really was a terrible deal. They can’t even get a tv deal now despite having one before Tony bought them up

The word on the street is that Matt Riddle has been suspended by wwe hence why he was written out of tv last week,
Either was given a choice of Rehab or being fired since this has been his 2nd wellness police failure in 6 months,
Must be some other substance other than weed, because that doesn’t get tested for in wellness policy anymore.

Reports suggest that Vince could be onhis way back, according to the Wall Street Journal, personally can’t see this happening.

Bryan Alvarez was gushing about the womens title match from Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor from last night so I gave it a watch. Certainly a very good match overall from 19 year old Rok-C and Miranda Alize. Not perfect but some impressive sequences at times. Rok-C is going to be great and Alize is a very good heel. The tale of the tape had them at 5'9 and 5'10 but from watching I'm pretty sure thats not very close to true  Edit - Rok-c from looking online seems to be more like 5'1 so they added 8 inches  I'd be 6'4 in Ring of honor!

Anyway if you enjoy womens wrestling its definitely worth watching that match to see how good Rok-C already is. Overall it was better than most of the womens matches in WWE and AEW and as Alvarez asked the question "How did none of the bigger companies sign these 2 women before ROH did shortly before this?" Thats certainly the question to be asking after the match

Congrats to Rok-C (Roxanne Perez in NXT) for becoming NXT womens champion and good on WWE for signing her not long after that ROH match.

Mandy released...

It seems

I only became aware of how far she was going on her site in the last day, but yeah shes doing topless and similar stuff. Didnt seem like WWE would be aware of it and okay it. So must have been trying to do it to grow her brand for when she leaves WWE.

To be honest she barely improved in her entire NXT time, at least in the ring, she changed her image yeah... Didnt look to me like she really wanted to be there wrestling. Same with Gigi to be honest. Thats the first thing I think of when I see wrestlers not bumping properly on their back and making their opponent's offense look weaker because of it. I thought she was just going to go fulltime onlyfans but I think her even more x stuff is on something called fantime. So probably fulltime to that

I'm only learning about this now, what the feck?!

X stuff? That sounds disgusting! Where can I find it to block it off? Where?

It was bizarre. Mandy was trending. I clicked it, I see she's lost her title, she's been fired and then scrolling and people have just blasted videos over twitter.
And you see screenshots of her telling someone to take something down.

The Mandy Rose situation is one of the most ridiculously hypocritical stances I can ever remember WWE taking. Her gimmick for years was her sexuality and she was a throwback to their Divas era of women.

In all honesty, no ones going to miss her for her workrate. I imagine she was given the opportunity to delete her content and she declined (though obviously there's no way to know this).

It's never nice to see someone lose their job, but bigger and better talent have lost their jobs for less at the end of the day. I'm sure she'll be fine.

She will be back im sure of it.she did well. Sucks for toxic attraction.

Catching up on wrestling. Rampage has really been a nothing show and has been since week 2. So bizzare they haven't used that show at all.
Just saw the latest ratings and khan clearly wants to make rampage mean something again (putting mox this week) but it's gonna take a lot of good will for people to watch that again

ricky Starks is great. Such a shame they basically had one promo showdown before the match tonight. Mjf shouldn't / wont lose. I really think they need some screwy finish with Starks next feud coming in to cost him. Somebody like Jericho who starks can feud with then beat. Then give him the tnt title from Joe. Then build towards him v mjf rematch.

roh ppv was kinda meh until the pure title match. Btw briscoes / FTR are both awesome. Best tag feud going.
aew missed a trick by not having FTR win the titles of young bucks (having all the titles) then having them be the ones to lose it to the acclaimed

one thing I really hate about aew is how many matches have random pile-drivers like it's a clothesline. Or Canadian destroyers as a move to set up for another move.

also did anybody watch the vince vice TV show?

Bianca Belair is so shit. Why is that a thing?
Her and Ronda are getting shafted by atrocious champion holder booking.
Neither are great on the mic or have the personality of your Becky’s and Charlotte but feck me put them in a decent programme.
I genuinely forget who holds the women’s belts most weeks.

Belair just has the look and feel of a main eventer. She can put on a decent match too. She's terrible on the mic but so is Rousy and Sasha Banks was barely any better when she was the no1.

They don't really give many of them any properly built fueds or stories to build their character around. Rousy one minute is doing the Austin vs Vince thing with the management, the next she's a heel teaming with Bazler. Belair is basically women's John Cena where she's meant to be the main face but they just have her walk through anyone she wrestles.

Ripley is the only one i can think of who's character has both been given a chance to develop through story telling and had consistency, and it shows. She's by far the most interesting one.

Does she have the look though?

She’s got a really really tiny head. Not body shaming the girl, she’s a beautiful person, but the tiny head doesn’t exactly look menacing. One headbutt from some meat head like Natalya and she’d be out for the count

Winter is coming was fun. Crowd was excellent and added so much to the show.

The jericho match was great. Hopefully there's a follow up with Action cos AEW recently has been start stopping a lot of things.

It does look like they're trying to go in the right direction again with them now featuring/using Starks, hook, Perry, and quite a few of the younger guys

They need to stop trying to make Jarrett/lethal a thing in 2022 going into 2023. Just stop it.

Mjf/Starks was a good main event. They need a big follow up for Starks too.
