Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

Vince McMahon made WWE what it is and has been and by the sounds of things, he's broke it. When HHH takes over, he's going to have some sh** to unravel and put back right, that's going to take some doing. Vince has got too comfortable that his product is unrivalled and has been for a long, long time, WCW came close and Vince bought them out, then TNA was a flop.
Sounds like Wenger at Arsenal

This is what hurts WWE at the moment. You have to fill three hours of Raw and two hours of SmackDown weekly, and upwards of 15 PPVs a year. I think reducing Raw back to two hours would be a massive step in the right direction, but I doubt they'll do it any time soon. So much of the time is filled with absolute fecking dross that I find hard to believe anyone finds entertaining.

It's horrible stuff. When Roman was moved over to Smackdown, I thought it was a statement of intent from the WWE that they wanted to reform Raw and, fair enough, have Vince's guy as the face of the blue brand going into their mega TV deal. How he came out and introduced the concept of a 'wildcard' suddenly made the idea of brands redundant and it keeps going from bad to worse since then.

One thing that I can't get over is how much time they're giving Shane on the microphone and in general. All of that talent glancing towards AEW and probably hoping for a run in NXT and they keep sending him out there on both shows to feud with Roman. It's pure, unadulterated shit and I blame myself for managing to convince myself week after week that it has to come good.

According to someone I know who's attending Takeover XXV, the event will apparently start at 6:15 E.T. instead of 7. I'm not sure what's happening before 7 E.T., but there you go.

Reading about the raw after double or nothing is sad. made even worse when you realise nxt is a WWE show and see how different it is presented

Raw being 3 hours is an issue. This wild card thing makes it a total mess on their ability to make stars

The Ambrose / moxley podcast was great listening

What a Takeover, and what an ending to the whole PPV. Besides WWE, wrestling has never been any better (other than the Attitude Era).

Every single Takeover delivers. It's incredible that it exists in the current WWE where the main roster TV shows and PPVs can be such colossal shitshows.

A guy like Roddy, more or less a henchman in a stable, is able to have matches like and elicit huge reactions from the crowd.

Crazy ladder match. Wrestlers must hate those matches with the beating they take in them. O Reilly's back was mangled.

Io is something unique in the women's division. A legit high flyer. Shame the language barrier will probably hold her back on the main roster.

Adam Cole and TUE have the potential to be huge on the main roster.

Gonna watch takeover soon but this made me laugh

And yeah takeover always delivers no matter whos taken from nxt brand and demoted to raw or smackdown

Adam Cole and TUE have the potential to be huge on the main roster.

Considering the shitshow made of bringing up NXT talents this year, that doesn't mean very much. Vince legitimately seems to have no idea how to utilize all of that potential. It's a really bad climate for NXT talents to be walking into and their seems to have been a shift in perception in recent years as to how desirable it is to be on the main roster i.e. it used to always be about getting called up, now it's more about fulfilling all of their potential in NXT.

I watched the opener with Riddle and Strong, and the womens match and both were good. I had no interest in the tag match or united states title match. I'll probably watch Cole Vs. Gargano eventually.

It was a ladder match and it had undisputed era in it, what more do you want?

Takeover 25 this weekend... Should be a cracker.

We shit on the WWE, but in takeover they have the most consistent and high quality "PPV" show in wrestling.

The problem there is its even difficult to get invested in NXT at this point because you know there is no continuation of their development.

They are hot as hell in NXT and everything done to start off their character and story arch is undone within months, hell even weeks quite often on the main roster.

So, in a nutshell...why even bother getting invested in NXT when its ultimately a waste of time?

It had ReDDragon, I'm not very interested. And I dont watch a match just because it has ladders.

Anyway for anyone who doesn't know about these and I doubt thats many people, but still, the new Botchamania is out

Because NXT is gradually becoming a place where stories are done in their entirety and Raw and Smackdown don't appear to be the only goal in wrestlers' minds anymore. Ciampa-Gargano has been one of the most captivating feuds in ages, and the Undisputed Era have been central to so many great things that have happened in the last few years. Velveteen Dream is also doing fantastic work. If any of those are called up and forced to do hokey shit to amuse Vince, that's crap, but that doesn't suddenly mean what they did in NXT was a "waste of time." Their jobs are to entertain and they've done that to an excellent standard. No point looking years down the line and telling yourself it will end. Just enjoy it for what it is now.

Plus just treat NXT as a different entity to WWE. Act like its old school ROH where you would watch their stuff and then see em signed up by WWE and given completely different names.

Im basically not watching Raw/SD anymore and just focusing on NXT, NXT UK and maybe WWE PPVs.

NXT is clearly cater to hardcore fans which is a good thing because the quality is there to see. What i want to see is NXT being treated as the equal same brand as RAW and Smackdown. It being branded as developmental brand just lower its value into casual watcher. Takeover never failed to deliver since its inception.

Don't get me wrong, I love NXT... The Takeover PPV's are arguably some of the most consistent and best PPV's to be found anywhere in the wrestling world.

I'm just finding it more and more difficult to get invested in NXT knowing full well that for all their efforts they will never have that same level of story arch and match again and their efforts financially rewarded as such.

I would never want to take a chair shot from Brock. A bit too much venom in those swings.

I don't know what Charlotte was at last night but loads of people are saying it looked like she was refusing to sell for Lacey.

I just watched that and it seemed really weird. I could forgive the whole her just falling to the ropes from the woman’s right(which has laid out everyone) due to maybe not connecting clean. However after that it seemed really messy don’t you think? The bull dog take downs and what seemed like Lacey just trying to get to her back the whole time. Weird spots that looked like they were testing strength but it didn’t really come across.

However must have been a planned match and I’m not sure about the non selling because there were spots in it that were obviously pre planned like that hand stand kick up that Charlotte put the boots in.

Looked like Lacey missed a spot as well when Charlotte was going for the figure 8 as there was a weird delay there.

Bit of a shame because I think those 2 could be really good given their size and athleticism and Lacey got some tricks. Saw her do a spring from 2nd to 3rd recently to something else which looked damn cool.

And finally the man handle looks an awfully lot like a renamed rock botttom
Interesting that they’ve shown Becky getting in the ambulance with
Seth
WWE embracing their relationship.

Charlotte/Lacey if you like car crash wrestling.

Brock's beatdown of Seth was brutal.

Not much else.

Carmela super kicking Drake Maverick. Alexa Bliss drinks coffee, Alexa Bliss spills coffee due to Billy Kay, Alexa Bliss smashes Billy Kay for spilling her coffee and ummm Fire fly house doing some weird sort of fitness video.

I saw a gif of Cesaro pulling a table out from the ring with R Truth on it. I think that's about it.

New Japan, Best of the Super Juniors finals is on now. Will be a good event featuring Jon Moxley's debut and the final of the tournament with Will Ospreay.

PM me if you're interested and you need a link

Ah, don't spoiler anything. I'm watching it later on when it's uploaded to Watch Wrestling.

Okay just for Hoof The Ball I wont talk in any detail about NJPW unless maybe later in spoiler tags.

But what I will say is WWE fans will be happy with the Ambrose/Moxley and Juice Robinson match because it was better than his WWE matches. And the main event was something everyone should watch. Shingo Vs. Ospreay was absolutely jaw dropping.

Imagine how crap WWE has become when the most entertainning thing going on is Bray Wyatt and his creepy gimmick and R-Truth's goofy act. Nothing much to look forward.

It was though. They were some of the hardest chair shots in years. He cut Rollins' back up and I bet some of Seth's screams wasn't just selling.
They were all flat and perfectly placed shots and you could tell Lesnar was controlling the impact. It’s a small tubular chair that probably just cracked the metal on the frame and gave Seth a little cut.

They were hardly brutal chair shots.

Super showdown predictions
Lars Sullivan V Lucha House Party
Finn Balor V Andrade
Roman Reigns V Shane McMahon
Triple H V Randy Orton

Seth Rollins V Baron Corbin
Brawn Strowman V Bobby Lashley

After its unveiling the other week, it's both sad and amusing that R-Truth is arguably the best part of the show with the 24/7 title. Shane is so boring that they even had him interrupt one of his segments. Not that saying this is supposed to detract from R-Truth obviously being good at what he does. He's killed it in the comedy segments for years.
