Vince doesn't pay attention to wider wrestling world, which is one of his biggest flaws. He'll know there is another wrestling show out there, that has tv with a few guys who used to work for WWE. He'll probably think it's another TNA, which didn't do any damage to WWE so will pretty much ignore it. HHH is the one who will be looking at AEW and how it could affect WWE.
Yeah, but I reckon HHH will be able to do feck all too. His public references to AEW suggests he's a bit rattled by it all I think.
Also AEW brings back some hardcore elements which Vince outright bans. I'm unsure of AEWs rating but I know Double or Nothing definately wasn't PG. They know their demographic, and it's going to be the 30 something crowd and kids will just follow (like we all did when we grew up watching WWF). On top of that it's got better minds in booking and a chequebook to compliment.
WWE is rotten to the core, there is far too much stink to salvage it. Creative are poor, talent are leaving and the executive decisions made to salvage ratings has actually made it worse.
Watched AEW this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. One thing I think people don’t realize is while people may not be too thrilled with WWE or even watch their product, wrestling as a whole hasn’t been this healthy in a while. There’s easily a large enough group of wrestling fans to turn AEW into a success story.
I also don’t think this is going to wake Vince up and WWE will suddenly improve. He’s been desperate to get Roman over at all costs and the only idea he had to get fans on his side was allow him to use the word bitch and have him beat everyone. If he can’t get his pride and joy over, it doesn’t exactly fill you with confidence that he’s going to suddenly produce this amazing product.

Read somewhere that their tv rating is TV-14 which is the next step up from TV-PG which is what WWE are.
I agree WWE is shit now but "talent are leaving" who? Ambrose is one. I bet The Revival, for all their moaning, will absolutely sign a new contract. If Sasha does actually want out (I still think she's just on a break) she'll have to wait three years to run down her contract.
No one of note is leaving except Ambrose and that's an anomaly.
Sasha Banks should be a formality for AEW once she's out of the no compete rubbish WWE probably have on her.

Ambrose is a weird case. He was the "other" shield member. Still a main eventer but not pushed as much. Hated where his gimmick was going. Almost died injured! He probably feels he needs a fresh start somewhere else all.
And 2 weeks before that there is Fyter Fest. Cody done an interview he said that All Out will be their main PPV going forward a long with double or nothing. Also one more (didn’t give a name for it) that will be more extreme

He is WWE's Alexis Sanchez. In WWE for a retirement payday, he hasn't been motivated in ages. He has had one properly great match in all his time in WWE, against Cena. The supposed internet dream feud he was given with AJ was terrible. If they're taking on WWE guys then they need to take people who have a point to prove.
AJ recently signed a new contract and has said it will be his last, for whatever that is worth.
Ah, is it a work-rate thing? I was disappointed with his match-up versus AJ but since put his lull down to incorrect booking than anything else. If he goes back to Japan and suddenly performs maybe it was WWE not being right for him?
Did AJ suggest it's his last ever contract or just last with WWE?

Also on last night, it's been a while since I laughed this hard at anything in wrestling. So dumb but so funny...
Because of all your chatter about the AEW PVP I had a look at the highlights online. It actually looked really good. Video I watched only showed all the spots and big hits, but some very impressive stuff in it. Those tag matches (I think, as matches were not announced in the video) had so many cool moves in them, though I can see how people would be slightly annoyed that some of the didn't finish the match.

Sasha ain’t going nowhere and I believe the fans have given her a free pass over this. If she wasn’t a NXT darling she wouldn’t be praised for doing this shit.
This isn’t a Luke Harper situation who has been told to stay at home. He is seeing out his contract as Vince extended it for the time he was injured. I don’t think he can extend any more as WWE are the ones that told him to stay at home.
Where as Vince probably can add more to Sashas contract for not showing up when she is supposed to and I hope he does. Austin got criticised for taking his ball and leaving yet somehow nothing has been said about Sasha. Sasha has been given more than any other women in that locker room besides Charlotte and probably Alexa. She signed the contract last year too, so its stupid on her part.

Is it just me that thinks that Moxley/Ambrose isn't that great? I'm just basing off his WWE run, but all his best matches came as part of the shield... And off the top of my head I can think of only one or two single matches that really stand out.
He isn't great but he has been one of WWE bigger stars over the last few years so name value, even without the Dean Ambrose name, is what he is being brought in for. They have other guys to appeal to the Meltzer demographic of workrate and 5 star matches.
With that said, maybe he'll be more free to wrestle a different style in AEW that will be better.

I would consider myself a lapsed fan and AEW was the first time I enjoyed a wrestling show for years.
Mainly because it reminded me of the attitude era. Yes I know I'm living in the past but it's what I enjoyed.
Didn't feel like it was shoving any agenda down my throat. The matches were fun. The whole presentation for a new organisation was impressive.
If it gets a TV run that has easy access in the UK plus a couple more good wrestlers, think I'll be watching it more closely.
He was one of the worst match workers in WWE, but that was in WWE which didnt play to his strengths as a deathmatch/hardcore wrestler. And his promos were filtered for the PG audience.
I dont know if he'll end up a superstar (like he is now, having defected from WWE while they were clearly begging him to stay) but he has a chance because it'll all be down to himself now, not what Vince allows him to do.
Hold on, I'm confused. Why is Sasha so bad for walking out? It's a contracting job ultimately and she's been jobbing for far too long. I am completely against this idea that she's been given more because she's literally been doing nothing for 1.5 years or so at least. From her initial burst and feud with Charlotte, nothing has happened with her. She has every right to walk out, and I disagree it's stupid on her part to walk out because ultimately she can just sit back and relax, return with her image in tact to AEW rather than job in WWE for another 2 years. That's how it is, WWE can release talent at a flick of a switch and talent can stop turning up. I'm extremely pleased to see someone like Sasha be the first to stick it to them and hope it inspires others.
I enjoyed her tweeting pretty much throughout the AEW show. That's not a sign of someone coming back to WWE any time soon.
Becky was in the same position though, probably a worse position really since she was doing nothing for a long time which is the worst spot to be in as a wrestler but she didn't take her ball and go home, if that is what Sasha has done. Look what knuckling down and rolling with the punches did for Becky.
Jobbing for too long? Besides Charlotte she’s probably the second most successful women on the roster.
If all the wrestlers started doing this sort of shit it will be anarchy. Somebody has to lose in wrestling. Since Sasha has joined the rosters she’s been winning more than losing.
There’s been other women in much worse positions like Becky who haven’t thrown tantrums and walked out.
Becky is the result of a weirdly obsessive fan-base. I say weird because when I saw her make her debut I wasn't much impressed by her (I'm still not). I recall people here get a bit annoyed by any negative Becky Lynch views and her fans always had her over. Becky got her dues eventually, but it won't last. Rumours are Vince isn't too hot on Becky anyway. I look forward to this day because she has as much charisma in her promos as my foot.
I don't really want to argue whether Sasha has or hasn't had enough of a push in her overall time with WWE, I'm just saying if she felt she lost faith in the booking of WWE and how they plan her future direction she has every right to leave. She's done next to nothing in the past year so it's fair play to her. I wish more wrestlers do the same because that' the only thing that will get creative off their high horses and listen more.

Just because other women have been in worse positions, doesn't mean Sasha should just pipe down and accept it. If she doesn't think the WWE is right for her she can move on. It works both ways, they do the same to their talent they want to release FFS.
You don't win the main event of Wrestlemania pinning Ronda Rousey and ahead of someone like Charlotte without Vince fully behind you.
Festering for too long? Well it wasn’t festering when she signed a new contract last year or only a few months ago she was made the first tag team champs. They wanted to split her and Bayley up because they were losing Ronda, Nia and now even Ruby Riot is probably out for a long time, so they wanted more singles competitors.
If she was doing “nothing” for 18 months like you said so why sign a contract last year. Well she can’t move on because she’s there for another two years and Vince will probably add time to her contract. She signed a contract that they can legally freeze if she doesn’t bother turning up, so she’s ruining her own career.

I also don't buy the lack of singles talent. There are way, way, way too many womens wrestlers out there that are sitting on their arses. Either invest in the tag team and let them have a proper run or don't bother.
There was no real alternative last year. There is now. She's smart to walk, she knows there is a serious competitor she can walk to.
What is long term? With Seth, she's been the most popular person in the company for almost a year now. That's an eternity for a very strongly booked face in wrestling these days where fans can be very fickle.
With Becky apparently Vince, and Kevin Dunn, weren't keen on her because of her accent which is why she got pretty mediocre booking despite being one of the best they've got. Since she blew up though he is behind her, hence the main event and winning both belts.

No hyperbole, this is one of the worst hours I've ever watched on Raw.
During the Shane match there were loud "AEW" and "This is awful" chants. This isn't hour 4 in a shit PPV in a smarky town. This is the first hour of a Raw, in Kansas.
Christ I hope AEW can step up because I am sick of this shit.
Now I feel good about skipping the rest of the first hour after watching the first 20 or so minutes.
On the bright side, Ricochet vs. Cesaro was an amazing match.

Strowman and Lashley eliminated themselves by going away from the ring and into the crowd (at least that's how Cole justified it).
Also, Zayn mentioning AEW just shows that WWE don't take them seriously despite the crowd chanting its name.
Nah atleast we got Brock dancing which pretty much saved the first hour.
People criticise Brock but he was acting like a clown and it was pretty hilarious to watch. He was the best thing about the show. He is capable of being entertaining just look at his feud with Eddie and Kurt in the past.
Sounds like they really stuck in to AEW.
