Are they giving Kofi pretty much similar story to Becky?

I really hope if both matches are triple threat at WM, they dont use the copout of 'injuring' one person, they are taken away, and then miraculously come back near the end to win.
The way they're building Becky she'll be rolling down the ramp on a wheelchair at Mania. This crutch angle should've ended weeks ago.

I thought as much after last weeks show which if it does become a triple threat then that is some seriously lazy writing.

Anyone want to take a bet that John Cena vs Samoa Joe for Mania?

Another thing, noticed Miesha Tate follows Becky and has been liking some of her stuff on Ronda and so on  Bants...

The pissing on kayfabe side of this story has killed about 80% of my interest in it. I've gone from "It would be fecking awesome to see Becky win at Mania" to "It would be cool to see her win at Mania" and with a month of shitty convoluted build up left to go, I'll probably reach "Who even cares..." by then.

Becky/Ronda/Charlotte is old hat. This is the women's feud I want now...

Make that a ladder match and it will steal whatever show they put it on.

I might be further along the scale than you but I’ve gone from surface of the sun hot to glass of water at room temperature.

When I think back to that Raw before survivor series and how pumped I was for it to now with the shit show WWE have put on I’m just truly gutted. Should never have added Charlotte and this leg injury has gone on too long and been over done.
Should have had her show up after Mania to that Raw make the challenge and that should have been the last contact between them apart from screwing each other over at the PPV’s and shots via media and stuff.

Yeah the leg injury sees her coming out, being a badass then having her leg taken away and reinjured. It's happened about 5 times
Heck even Stephanie kicked her leg to escape her

I watched a couple of recap videos to find out what going on in the wwe these days, on one hand the women's division is the best thing about it, but jeez they know how to completely spoil the momentum they seem to have stumbled upon with the Becky-Ronda storyline and get casuals interested in the event, its almost like the excitement that diminished surrounding Mayweather-Pacquiao when that was going on. When it happens it will still probably make it be the biggest PPV the "sport" has had, like Mayweather-Pacquiao, but by the time they actually get to the point of fighting it will be a bit, meh. The whole Becky as the female Stone Cold, pushed down everyone throat its almost cringeworthy from the knee braces to getting arrested
As for Charlotte getting added to match, going by comments on youtube of people disliking the idea of it, and although they are probably right, but what from the recap videos i have viewed, the storyline to me looks like they are heading as follows:

The PPV today, they will do the whole Becky is injured thing, so Ronda will help Becky in defeating Charlotte, also beating Charlotte down, getting her back. Then come wrestlemania, it will play out that neither Becky or Charlotte will be able to beat Ronda individually, they will then team up against her and put their signature submissions on Ronda at the same time (think it anatomically possible) at which point she will be about to tap, but then her MMA horsewomen will come out and save her, beating down Becky and Charlotte. Then the other two from the wwe horsewomen will save Becky and Charlotte. wwe faces. mma heels, completely they will do a double turn.... and do a MMA vs WWE storyline
As for all the back and forth on twitter between Becky and Ronda and with Ronda referencing wrestling as fake, that's rubbing people the wrong way, the entire thing is a work. Its done fairly well, but not sure where they are eventually going with it..
Outside of the women's division everything else seem so stale. The only thing that is entertaining is Daniel Bryan, as "the planets champion", and the crowd not sure to boo him even when he insulting them

Two other observations are how wwe have resorted to killing off surprises. Like when a wrestler returns, instead of just playing their music they would have someone come out introduce them making their return less impactful, i presume its down to the internet and they dont bother trying to keep secrets anymore.
When Chris Jericho first entered the wwe, even thought i had no idea who he was, nor there being spoilers about, the anticipation of that count down was so well done, and was so invested in him by the time he arrived. That's one thing it appears they need to get back to and stopping killing excitement by pre announcing everything. I dont know anything about NXT, but saw they pre announced the appearance of the top guys on the main show, why not just make their appearance and then have the commentators explain while its happening , thats what theyre there for :wenger:

The other observation is how clean some of the strikes look and how well matches flow. There seems to be a lot more production then when i remember back in the late 90s early 00's, camera angles are done to a tee. Back then you could clearly see non strikes happen and wrestlers talking to each other and instructing the next move...:D

@starman loads of extra material for a sequel as even listening to her talk about what her life was like, the eating disorder, the drugs, her hair falling out, the depression, considering suicide, coming back from all that then being forced to retire, you just can’t write that stuff but I don’t think she would want the whole home movie thing glamourised and it would surely be a massive part in any follow up movie.

I’m going to go see it tomorrow but I agree with what you mentioned about the rock,
I’d never heard of this until recently and I wish it had never come to light as it does now seem just engineered other than her just pulling herself up to that position.

The more i learn about Paige, its amazing how she never got fired, only the Rock probably could have gone that wayward and still survived. It seems completely down to the fact that a movie was being made about her. (The article below back in 2017 suggests that). I dont know if there is some sort of consent required when they told her back in 2014 the movie is being made, if not, in hindsight for the wwe, it was a terrible thing telling a 21 year old. It basically made her indispensable until it releases and probably altered the way she behaved.
The interesting thing is how long it took to make for such a low budget movie and when it was released. Filming seemed to be completed back in mid 2017, post, end of 2017 but release seems to be delayed 2019, just when her contract is up, so it will be interesting to see what happens. If the film is successful (which it seems to be doing well at the box office), all is forgiven, keep her on and maybe push for a 2nd or Vince doesn't forget and she gets released in the next few months..

A $17.5 Million Movie Might Be The Only Reason WWE Hasn't Fired Paige

If the WWE Hall of Fame had a wing for abysmal public relations, Paige would be in a class of her own.

As the once-promising former phenom remains idle (she is currently out with a neck injury) while women's wrestling has passed her by, there is a very real chance that the embattled 24-year-old could be done with WWE. WWE, Paige and members of her family have spent the past year engaged in somewhat of a cold war. Paige's position with the promotion is presumably protected by the forthcoming Fighting with my Family biopic produced by The Rock and directed by Stephen Merchant. Last year it was reported that MGM purchased world rights to the movie in a deal that could be worth as high as $17.5 million.

Still, famed tabloid editor Dave Meltzer vaguely reported that WWE has no plans on using her because of "everything that has happened." Let's get more specific:

The Self-destruction of Paige

  • On July 20, 2016, WWE split up Alberto Del Rio (now known as Alberto El Patron) and Paige by sending them to separate brands via the WWE Draft. This move was reportedly done due to the increasing social media drama from the radioactive couple.
  • On August 17, 2016, WWE suspended Paige for 30 days due to a wellness violation. Del Rio received an identical suspension one day later. Paige later claimed the violation occurred because she failed to take the drug test in the allotted time given.
  • On October 10, 2016, WWE suspended Paige for 60 days due to a second wellness violation. This time around, Paige's excuse was that she had taken a prescription drug, something her father publicly reiterated. Paige's brothers, Zak and Roy Bevis, also issued similar public statements.
    • On October 11, 2016, the war grew colder when WWE publicly fired back with a contradictory statement that its troubled star was suspended for an illegal substance.
    • On October, 12, 2016, Paige and similarly troubled fiancé Alberto Del Rio were attacked by an assailant wielding a knife who reportedly engaged a verbal altercation with Paige. The story was quite hazy, with no eyewitness reports or confirmation from the police.
    • On December 30, 2016, Del Rio was arrested following a nightclub brawl in Austria. He later fought his own brother at a police precinct after breaking free from the arm ties intended to restrain him. The fight reportedly left the walls bloody at the precinct. Del Rio joined Paige at a Raw taping in Tampa, FL soonafter.
    • On February 20, 2017, while filming scenes for Fighting with my Family following a Raw taping, The Rock sporadically called and left a public voicemail for CM Punk to placate WWE fans who were defiantly chanting his name. Punk is currently involved in a lawsuitwith WWE doctor Chris Amann, and the impromptu phone call reportedly drew the ire of both Vince McMahon and Triple H. Though none of the scenes directly involved Paige, this was more controversial press surrounding a movie that has become of a thorn in WWE's side.
      • On March 2, 2017, Paige raised even more eyebrows when she appeared backstage at a taping for Impact Wrestling, a national promotion that serves as WWE's distant rival.
      • On March 10, 2017, Ricky Knight—Paige's father—suggested WWE was conspiring against his promotion by booking competing shows in nearby Norwich, England on May 6 and 7.
      • On March 17, 2017, Paige was the victim of an online hack that released several raunchy photos and videos of the WWE Superstar.
      • On April 7, 2017, Paige appeared alongside Alberto Del Rio in a Periscope video where he went on an NSFW drunken rant bashing WWE.
      • On April 14, 2017, Paige tweeted a series of follow-up videos where Del Rio continued his profanity-laced public criticisms of WWE. Del Rio zeroed in on Triple H, who he called a "p---y" who "married well." The videos remain on her Twitter timeline.
If Fighting with my Family contains half the drama of Paige and her ongoing tensions with WWE, WWE Studios—which reported an operating loss of $200,000 in 2016—might finally have a hit. If all else was equal, it's safe to assume WWE would have washed its hands of its Paige months ago.
Paige and WWE's back-and-forth about its wellness policy is similar to that of Adam Rose—who tweeted a doctor's note in response to his 60-day suspension—and Eva Marie, who also claimed she was unfairly suspended due to prescription drugs. Both talents parted ways with the promotion shortly after their violations, though WWE has reportedly kept Eva Marie's departure under wraps since she is still featured prominently on Total Divas.

For Paige, The Rock watching a documentary on her unique family one night in his hotel room may be the only thing saving a job that she doesn't seem to want anyway.

Paige's contract with WWE reportedly runs through 2019. If she's still with the promotion by then, consider it a miracle.

No one really bothered about Fastlane? Only thing that sounds interesting is the US fourway and they've only just announced it.

Filler PPV really.

Dont know why it exists when historically WM comes after elimination chamber.

Besides becky/charlotte and shield return couldnt even tell you any matches

Asuka is the best...

Just have her interfere in the Becky/Charlotte/Ronda match and kick the shit out of them, take Ronda's belt and crown herself undisputed champ.

Really good PPV that. Was really entertained by 6 of the matches - 3 of which were great (Tag, US and WWE title matches)

That was a fun PPV.

Becky/Charlotte was not needed.
The Bar match was a whole lot of meh. Both could have been shorter given it was for storyline purposes.

The WWE title match was good and all men did well esp Mustafa, given the position he was in and how the crowd started off.
The first tag title match was good too and the ending was a really good beatdown.
Womens tag match was a bit weird but ok. Guessing they may do a multi tag match at WM (Beth/Natty, Trish/Lita?, Bellas?, Tamina/Nia, Iiconics, Mandy/Sonya, Riot Squad, and the champs).
And US title was a great match. Good move putting it on Joe.
Main event was great fun.

AJ vs Orton at WM could be great too, if given time.
Guessing Kofi vs Bryan gets made.
Womens title match has been made too complex esp with Becky still using the crutch.

She has kind of struck her in the face, might not be heal but ball off your foot still hurts, props to Mandy for taking it or being willing to take that if it wasn’t a mistake by Askua.

That PPV has given me hope that the WWE still can entertain me despite having its issues. Here's hoping the road to Wrestlemania doesn't bring up any nonsense with it. Fastlane was a decent start (except for the Women's division), so let's see what Raw has to offer particularly with that they previewed in Fastlane itself.

That would be saved for part timers who need to be carried, I'd be surprised if that trick was used in Kofi vs Bryan vs Owens, should it happen.

Also Kevin Owens is fecking brilliant. He brings so much interest to the brand for me. WWE was at its peak in recent times when he was champ and had his various moments along with Jericho and "the list".

What a fun if utterly pointless PPV, though watching it in parts might have helped. Was there really any need for it to be four hours long?

It's amazing how much they've screwed up this Becky/Ronda feud, and apparently Paul Heyman has been the one in charge. Thank god Becky is as hot as she is or else this whole thing might be dead by now. Oh and I still don't understand how Tamina is still employed.

She's big and legacy thats about it. They dont really have anyone else to do her limited role, although shes probably going to be part of the next tag champs

Heal Ronda is actually pretty damn good, this is the character she was born to play. Thinking at Mania we’ll get a Becky win, then Ronda is joined by Shayna and the other two and they beat the snot out of Charlotte and Becky, then Sasha and what’s her face run to the ring setting up the build for a summer slam match or something like that.

Side note Dana Brooke given the worst promo material ever.

Belly?

Ronda pulling back the curtain and saying shit like "If you believe in this carny charade, you're an idiot" doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. That isn't playing with kayfabe, it's shattering it. It's end days WCW levels of nonsense.

That storyline is beyond saving, I just hope they don't try anything stupid with the Kofi one or else I'll be invested in nothing at Mania.

I absolutely hate this Rhonda / Becky / Charlotte feud... it's just garbage.

Mania has a LOT of matches (definite in red)

Rhonda vs. Becky vs. Charlotte
Rollins vs. Lesnar
HHH vs. Batista
Bryan vs. Kofi (vs. Owens vs. Ali??)
Orton vs. Styles
Reigns vs. MacIntyre
Shane vs. Miz
Buddy Murphy vs. Tournament winner
Lashley vs. Finn Balor (with other mid carders thrown in probably)
Angle vs. ??? (Corbin? Ziggler?)
Women's Tag Title Match
John Cena vs. ??? (Samoa Joe? Could be Kurt Angle though I guess, with Joe being against Mysterio/Almas etc.)
Raw Tag Title Match
Smackdown Tag Title Match
Smackdown Women's title match
Women's Battle Royale
Men's Battle Royale

That's 17 matches... Last year was 5 hours 10 mins, I think this year could easily go up to 6 hours. Woof.

@Annihilate Now! - dont forget they will probably put a music act in between.
I think they should move the Andre the giant battle royals to the Raw and SD.
SD has mens
Raw has womens or something.

Angle vs Cena would be cool, but then again, Joe seemingly called out Cena and Joe/Cena could be badass.

So, no more Dean Ambrose? No more Shield. Wtf?

Fastlane was meant to be the last ride for them.

Gutted for Ambrose . WWE had always wasted his talent once the Shield splitted .

The roster is wall to wall wasted talent. Read this week Rusev now has the same losing streak as Khali on PPV's, Sad really. I remember when he debuted thinking they've got an extremely unique talent on their hands. Big, mean and could legit go with anyone.

Becky better come out on SD and cut a promo and something mad has to happen because they've completely fecked this up and ruined it.

Despite the Women's stuff being trash... At least Smackdown is doing a good job with the Kofi story and the Randy/AJ feud.... even the Shane/Miz stuff has been good to be fair.

Still too many loose ends though... although if they make US title match a ladder match between Joe, Rey, Almas, Truth, Ali and Owens... that could be amazing.

Orton's promo was the best thing he has done in years and it's up there for one of the best promos overall in WWE in recent years.

Really excellent and has me hyped for an Orton match for the first time in God knows how long.

Hopefully orton/aj gets given time as i think they could tell a great story. The subtle build before the RKO/Flying Forearm within the last week was great too.

If a United player did a Chris Benoit, do you think we’d wipe him from our history and forget he existed?
