Thiago Alcantara | Signed for Bayern Munich

First off, leave it out with the insults, buddy, there's no need for that.
All I'm pointing out is that Manchester United were in a situation at least once before, where they were trying to sign a player and didn't offer enough money. The whole thing was a bit of tongue and cheek banter with TN anyways, so I've no idea why other people are jumping on it.

Fair enough, don't be surprised when people call out nonsense, if its meant for TN pop it in a conversation or don't be surprised if others jump in. It's intense in here :D

Yeah, I've just realised. I mean everyone knows I'm a clueless idiot but for you to actually come out and say it? Well, I...ahem...sorry, I have to go. I'm filling up here. :(

Pogba hadn't featured properly in our first team. Thiago just scored a hattrick in the final of am international tournament. To compare the two is a joke.

I am not comparing the players, I am comparing the situation in which they are. Both of them thinks that they should play more than why they did in the last season at United/Barca. Both of them can leave the club and club can do feck all bout it. Except empty promises.

I just hope we act with haste. Of course, I am not in the slightest bit privy to the details of our transfer dealings, but we do often appear to spend a whole load of time 'preparing bids' and other stuff 'related' to the actual bidding for/signing of a player. What then happens sometimes, is the eventual club just comes in and buys said player, in what seems like much less time. These clubs are often filthy rich in fairness, and may be more willing to appease the seller - but I think we could move a bit more swiftly at times.

Take Lucas for instance. Yes, we eventually appeared to have a deal, but from my observation, he was our player to lose for quite a while. PSG's involvement in the whole affair appeared to last about 48 or 72 hours, by simply coming in and just paying what they were asked to. We, however, spent weeks and weeks before getting to the finish line. I can't help but think if we had agreed a deal weeks earlier, we would have gotten him. PSG were not really mentioned until a few days before he was announced, it was all us.

This is perhaps my nerves kicking in here to be honest, and I am a bit afraid of another club coming in and signing Thiago. He really would be a dream signing, and personally, a player I have been an admirer of for about 5 years and would be thrilled to see him join us as I'd have never thought it possible before.

For all I know, we could already have a deal in place. I just hope we do not over-deliberate. The sugar-daddies do not give you a free run at top players nowadays, and if you are in, you need to be in heavy and decisively I imagine.

You know when the papers say we're "preparing bids" that doesn't mean we're sitting at a desk typing up a fax for weeks on end.

Also, Phelan isn't here to spend ages preparing our bids any more.

I am aware of that. But thanks.

On a side-note, I would love to see Shinji adopt some of the individualism into his game that Thiago shows. The one thing I'd like to see Kagawa do more is to take his man on, it really adds another dimension, especially in the role he plays.

Whatever happens though, if Thiago joins, I look forward to them playing together.

Didn't Thiago already use United to get a new contract last summer (or was it the one before)?

 Because Thiago and his dad (ageing, slightly frazzled World Cup winner Mazinho) seem like master manipulators of the press, leaking stories here and there to carefully engineer the conditions for a bumper pay rise.

Or, you know, because either the media made up some crap (never!) or we were interested in him but for one reason or another (our loss or interest, Thiago deciding to stay, Barca raising their contract offer in order to keep him) it didn't happen.

'use United', honestly...

Does anyone else have the feeling that Moyes' first presser will be him unveiling 3 new signings at once? I keep having visions of the worlds media gathering round to see Ronaldo, Thiago and Strootman be introduced to the fans. After I clean myself up I realise that it's nothing more than a massive pipe dream but still, what if...

Can't believe people actually think like you do, Rozay, but fair enough. Why do you admit to having no knowledge of our transfer dealings (which applies to everyone besides Moyes and the board) and then come up with those ideas? It boggles my mind. We all accept we're speaking from a position of ignorance here but some still want to draw conclusions from that.

Cause the clause would go down from 90m to 18m (EUR) only if he didn't played 60% of the available games for 60 or more minutes.

Maybe we've already signed him but aren't announcing anything until Moyes officially starts working for us. It wouldn't look right signing players without officially having a manager would it. He will be unveiled the day Moyes starts as our new manager.

Possibly. I think everyone knows that if we got someone, Moyes will have signed off on it or more. But compared to most clubs we do tend to be quite careful about doing things 'properly', so it might be that we'd delay any announcement.

It clearly wasn't a conclusion, it was a fear/theory based upon things that I have actually seen (previous outcomes). I admit that I have no idea how those outcomes are reached, all I know is I don't want it to be reached again in this situation. I'd like the signing of a player likely to be coveted by both prestigious and very wealthy clubs to be done as soon as possible, that's all. I'm sure the club do to, just that it hasn't always worked like that, and I hope it does this time.

I've passed no real judgement per se.

Is he a Mou type player? Doesnt he always like two defensive mids playing behind his attacking four?

 There's your conclusion/judgment. And it's a wrong one.
