Bloody Champagne in his eyes spoiled the mission :(

That's his stock risen now.Barca may see sense and give him a lucrative contract.

Along with assurman

Along with assurances of playing time ahead of Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and Fabregas? Maybe they could write something into his contract to assure him of that? They could drop his release clause if they go back on that promise. That way he could trust them, right?

Bring Muniain too then. I'd be fine with that.

An additional left-footer and another admired young talent? If DDG brings back both him and Thiago then we should sack our scouts and just give that money to DDG to sort out our transfers.

"You know this kid that's been at our club for 8 years now? He just scored a hat-trick in the U21s. Guess we missed something in him these last 8 years, huh?"

He was majestic in the final, his hat-trick was actually the least impressive thing about his performance.

We got frustrated with Ferguson for playing the likes of Giggs in midfield over upcoming young players and you guys criticize Barcelona for not playing him enough when they have Busquets, Xavi, Fabregas and Iniesta?

101 appearances (wiki, not the most reliable I know) for a 22 (just) year old for what some herald as the greatest side ever is quite some faith they've shown in the kid. Would he have got more for United at 22? And even if he had, by how much? Not a great deal more, even though our midfield is surely much easier to break into than theirs.

Barcelona set themselves up for a fall with the clause - however, he was injured earlier in the season. And, do we really believe that they should have been playing him just to make sure he hits his clause? Judging from the Rooney thread, most of our fans believe that you should want to play for our club - and if a player doesn't, let them leave. Would Ferguson have given in to a players contract, and played them simply to satisfy their contract?

Of course, he is a huge talent and a huge loss for Barcelona - but I don't believe they have done a great deal wrong here.

feck me I'm certain we have got him now.

De Gea publicly invites him to Manchester. He confirms the 18m euro release clause and asked if his future is in England he replies "I'm in Israel until 21st June..."

DDG: "For Kermit's sake, mate, get your ass over to United."

THIAGO: "Arghhhh lolz!1!!"

He also confirms he speaks English and the reporter mentions moving to England several times.

DDG doing his job!

Thiago comes across as a very mature and level headed young man. He said he just wants to play.

So he's in Isreal till 21st June? We'll have to put this one on ice till the weekend then.

He didn't say anything about the 21st of June. She asked him about his future and he said his immediate future was in Israel (this was presumably before the final), the commentator refered to the DDG comments being from Yesterday. Not sure how old the interview is.

Did he actually talk about the release clause himself? I just assumed the text was random information on the screen not what he was saying.

I definitely heard him say 'releaseo clauseo'.

Now what he's doing speaking Italian is anyone's guess.

the reporter ask him wtf your clause, why so low... just 18M.

and he said, well... for u and me, thats a lot of money.

level headed lad. When asked if the future lies in england, he just says his future is in Israel for now, and that he already told to the team mates that no matter what happens at level club right now, everybody must focus on Spain U21.

team leader of that young spain group, good.

The interviewer brings up the 18M release clause and says that every one "including Madrid" is saying that for that money you have to sign Thiago. Thiago responds by saying that he thinks 18M is a lot of money for him. So essentially he confirms it. It's pretty clear.

I've never wanted a player to sign for us more than this lad. Its right on so many fecking levels.

Ah ok, thanks for the info :)

The people saying he's not coming, deal with it are really
annoying. There are many clues he's leaving and all reports place us top of the list, how can you be so certain?

For what it's worth the interviewer seems dead set on the idea that he's moving to England. And when she asks him to confirm it he says that he sees his immediate future in Israel. She then responds by saying "but I was asking you about England". To which he chuckles and says "I know". No further elaboration on that point. She then asks him if he speaks English and he says "A little". He also said he's being talking to his teammates about the problems and challenges they face in playing for other clubs. The interviewer prefaces all the questions by saying that it's "almost certain you'll be leaving" which he doesn't refute at all.

Translation = it's f****** on!
