He hasn't actually said he'd talk about his future after the Euros, has he? Isco has promised a lot more in that regard.

He said at the start of the tournament that he is focused on the euro's right now, but he'll decide his future once the euro's finish.

The question is whether he meant straight after th Euros or just at some point after.

Guess we'll see in the next week or so.

With a serious hat on, I think he was just trying to say that he doesn't want to talk about his future and would rather concentrate on the Euros. A United attitude if ever I saw one :)

He will say 'Now the euros is over, we won. I will go on holidays and then decide my future'.

I hate it when players turn their shirt around after they've won something to show people their name. We fecking know it

Howard nurse is out there somewhere ringing united to try and get confirmation on alcantara winning the euro cup.

Did De Gea sneak our new kit for him to try on in front of the cameras?

Speaking of that, Martin Tyler mentioned something about him refusing a fan's request that he take a picture whilst holding a United shirt.

Without meaning to be a killjoy, this thread does have a seriously Hazard-ish feel to it.

You'd swear he was going to announce his intentions in his acceptance speech the way some of you are behaving here!

Remember the Hazard thread? Everybody had convinced themselves he was going to make a speech on the pitch at his last game and instead had to settle for his diva-esque twitter announcement a few days later!

I was reading the Catalan based Sport newspaper (essentially to Barca what Marca is to Madrid), and they said that he has already met Tito Vilanova face to face and told him that he has decided to leave. Vilanova tried to persuade him to stay but Thiago was unconvinced and will not change his mind. They said he made his mind up weeks ago. He has already studied offers from the Premier League, especially from Manchester United, who have made him a "very generous offer". They expect him to move on quickly in the weeks ahead. Barcelona intend to make negotiations as difficult as possible by demanding things like tax be added to the release clause.

I'll be visiting Barcelona in early July so if the fecker hasn't signed by then, I'll be sure to pay him a visit.

Does he have any kids? If so what colour was he wearing.

Interesting.

If this adds millions to the wages he will be offered by City or Madrid (or Barca) then the release clause is not the issue.

You really think this 1 final is going to change what the clubs were willing to offer him as wages? He isnt an unknown who has shone through recently, not by a far stretch. Clubs that actually are interested in him would have been in his ears for a while now.

Surely stuff like that is pretty cut in stone?

I suspect it is however as we saw from the add-ons that were added to Phil Jones's transfer fee, despite having a 16M release clause, the selling club can still make things difficult if they really want to. I don't have any knowledge of the legal fine print in Thiago's contract, so your guess is as good as mine.

Ambitious Thiago has made his decision and wants to go to Manchester United for his buy-out clause

  • It's front page on today's Catalan newspaper Sport that Barcelona
    midfielder
Thiago has made his decision and wants to leave the club this summer. His wasn't supposed to be coming to a conclusion before the end of the current U21 championships but Sport simply say 'Thiago wants to go', and the reason for such is all down to his World Cup dream. They say that Tito Vilanova has already contacted the player and explained the situation to him, that he wants Thiago to remain at Barcelona, but that there are other players ahead of him in the pecking order.

Thiago wants centre stage now and, according to Sport
could be heading straight for Manchester United for his €18m buy-out clause. Bayern Munich is stated as a second option, mainly due to Pep Guardiola links, but Thiago's major destination is yet again put down as as Manchester United. Barcelona are not happy about the buy-out clause and are expected to try and be awkward by putting IVA, tax, on top of that. That would bring the figure to around €21.7m, which isn't likely to make much difference.
Manchester United is an attractive proposition for Thiago and he could surely imagine himself filling the midfield role that many supporters feel has been lacking. With Sport saying he wants out and Manchester United being the club they reckon he's off to, then fans may get their long held wish.
Thiago is worried that the next season would be just the same as the last one for him at Barcelona and it's not just down to the minutes he plays but whether he takes part in the biggest
matches

and is seen as one of the club's major players. The youngster doesn't think this is possible and expects another Barca campaign like the last, so is prepared to move.
He's been a star at the U21 competition and is already friends with David De Gea. Thiago speaks English well and there's also the possibility that his U21 team mate Isco could be moving to Manchester City, meaning that there'd be three amigos from the U21 first team in Manchester. Thiago has seen the success of other Spaniards in England and a year being a big
player

for Manchester United would make a World Cup call-up more likely than a year sitting watching others play for Barcelona.
Sport think Thiago has made his mind up already, and Manchester United are the name at the head of the queue yet again. The Catalan newspaper are not the only Spanish outlet
running

a similar story today and Mundo also say that Thiago has decided a move away from the Camp Nou could be what's best for his World Cup dream.
Manchester United fans are bound to be getting excited about this possible move and the stories in Spain about the transfer are relentless. It gives the impression there's some truth somewhere, and a wish for more game time also makes sense. Manchester United would have to give him the confidence that he wouldn't simply be swapping the Barcelona bench for one at Old Trafford and other clubs are surely going to be sniffing around such a deal. Once the U21 tournament is over it's likely the Manchester club would want things sorted out as soon as possible to make sure they get him at the cheaper price and to avoid another club swooping in late.
From sport witness

Even if he came here, he'd have to have a hell of a season to get into the world cup squad, but it can't hurt his chances.
