I leave for one day to hang out in San Francisco, where it was absolutely spectacular yesterday, only to comeback to posters bitching with each other over the degree to which one's speculation is sound or not. Let's face it, none of us know jack shit.

I'm okay with all this, but for those who are actually getting pissed off -- and not those who are just having fun being quarrelsome -- I recommend a margarita on the rocks. Salt it with tajin, though you might not be able to find tajin that easily. But make sure you're using a good quality tequila, real lime juice and, perhaps surprisingly to some, a dash of grapefruit bitters. DO NOT drink sloshy shit frozen margaritas at chain restaurants. Nasty sugar bomb stuff.

As for Thiago, I believe.

I said "he isnt coming".

That seems to be a statement of fact. Most people on here are just having fun, or just want to believe it's going to happen. They are hardly saying he is definitely coming.

does anyone else think we might not buy anyone at all this summer?

Well Ronaldo's obviously not going to happen this summer, Strootman's gone very quiet so at the moment at least it appears that it all hinges on Thiago which seems far too good to be true

yes :)

Look if we're going to make this happen, people with negative vibes need to either get high or join us. When it happens, you'll be inspired. No on will be untouchable! First thiago..then Ronaldo! ..But if you don't think Manchester United have a chance of enticing a 21 year old kid that just wants to play, then fine
It's almost as if only the best United fans think it's on and those who don't aren't real fans.

Like when we signed Ozil, and Sneijder, and Hazard, and Lucas Moura.

Oh...

You need to read this thread more often. So many times it has been mentioned as to why this might not be the case with Thiago.

Fair enough.

I don't think he is that 'connected' to Barca. He is not even Catalan.

Thats always great to hear, being Catalan usually adds a stamp that says "heading to barca in a few years" on your forehead.

Even if he does, a few years of service for us at 18m euro, can't complain at that.

See heres the catch, this season its 18 mill. Next season, that clause will rise to 90 mill. So it IS a sort of now or never with this kid. But I guess a lot depends on what he wants as well. I just think, a player his age, should get regular games or risk stagnating.

Well that's one way of looking at it. There's nothing wrong people speculating. Let them speculate. Like Tevez..like RVP...Like Rooney...Like Nani...Like Anderson

I dont think what you said matches up to what he was hinting at.

I thought Indykaila said news within half hour. Its been more than half hour you clown.

Is the real clown the 20-something year old from Leicester inventing sources and stealing stories and hedging bets or the person hanging on every word of the 20-something year old from Leicester inventing sources and stealing stories and hedging bets?

Spoiler alert: there's two clowns.

That's my point, we get him this season for 18m, plies his trade for a while, fancies a trip back to Barca, we sell him back, likely for a lot more than 18m. Sounds alright, though I'd rather he come here to stay.

At least its something. It has died down today. Hoping for something to kickstart it again.

Let's hope those jealous journalists don't sever Indy's lines of communication... #prayforindy

It's become far too negative in here since Jamie Jackson stuck his beak in.

I haven't seen a drool smiley in ages.
There are still more reasons to believe its on than to believe its off. It's just taking longer than is comfortable.

We haven't even fecking signed De Gea yet? Pull your finger out Moyes.

I know you're joking but just imagine if Thiago comes out and says that he wanted to join United but Moyes' long vacation put him off.

So there really was no point in Thiago getting the 18m release clause put in his contract then, was there?

Probably the feckers are going to try to buy time and send the case in the court or something like that, with the hope of passing the deadline of 1 August.

Of course Barca are going to dispute it. They've dropped a MAJOR bollock here and will be doing everything they can to redeem the situation.

First thing they will have done when they realised the reality of the situation was call in their lawyers to comb Thiago's contract with a fine tooth comb to identify any way they can argue the clause doesn't apply.

If necessary, ours will be doing the same to ensure it does.

The positive in this, if true, is that it does suggest they're now moving away from trying to convince Thiago to stay and towards forcing him to stay through 'legality'. It'll further reinforce Thiago's desire to move on and, at worst, force us to settle for a higher fee to keep things amicable.

Maybe.

There's feck all they can do about it (©RAWK)

I'd say Graeme Hunter is very reliable from everything I've heard about it. I imagine what he means is that Barca are going to make things as difficult of possible in the hopes of getting a compromise settlement from United.

Fact is, we won't know what's really going on until IndyKaila finishes writing this email from United.

Jake's gif moment could potentially go down as the biggest low this place has ever seen if this move breaks down. Come on Thiago #doitforJake
