where did i say he would stay at Barca, please show me my quote. You just dreamt that up, assumption and speculation at work. You just provided a great example.

It's more that speculation, to be fair. Barca players are asking him to stay and be patient, together with all the other comments from journalists.

His full name--Thiago Alcantara do Nascimento-- resembles Pele's full name--Edson Arantes do Nascimento. Is there any connection between the two?

Yes, you're right - my mistake. But feel free to rephrase my question and then answer it.
My point here is that a massive amount of peoples hopes are based on assumption and stuff they are reading in to things that are said which in turn just feeds the whole cycle. Kind of like Chinese whispers. Your comment was a perfect example of that, now just apply that to all the reports, so called quotes and theories and you see a whole lot of noise based on sweet feck all factual evidence, just circumstantial.

Even as a joke, thats the RAWKest thing ever written on here!

hang on, he stated that I stated he was staying at Barca. here is his quote "Ok then...What - and where - is your justification for stating that Thiago will stay at Barca?"
Show me my quote where I stated he was staying at Barca. Im not huffy and defensive, that again is you dreaming something up in your own head. Another perfect example of assumption based on nothing which is what the vast majority of this thread is.

 Read your post again mate.

And you did effectively claim he was staying at Barca. Steve said something to the effect of 'They've made it clear they're not going to try too hard to keep him. It's on.' And you answered:

all speculation based on assumption, it wont happen

How, in that context, does 'it won't happen' mean anything other than that Thiago's staying at Barca? Is there some secret third option? Were we supposed to gather from the words 'it won't happen' that you were arguing that he'll go to Bayern?

The Neviller's made jackasses of us all, he was the wise prophet leading us away from Kermit and his sinful ways.. too good to be true :(.

You can't stop the muppet machine once it gets going

Well couldn't you have written all that out in your first post, saving us from reading "He's not coming" for the billionth time? If you wanted to expose people's supposed naivety, there are easier methods than that.

Why all the negativity?

The transfer forums a hormonal place. We're an emotional lot. We react to every bit of news. They've got their cocks out so often, they've probably worn it out :(

Nothings changed. Absolutely nothing. We just have to be paitence. The longer it goes, then obviously people start to think there are issues

His father is his agent, and it's his job to create a market for his client.

I don't think he needs to create anything though. I think the ball is in Thiago's court, if he wants to leave he can.

He is creating different options/choices for his son. He'd be a bad advisor or agent if he failed in giving him flexibility.

How many days until someone on twitter spots Thiago at Manchester Airport?

Logically, i think he should leave Barca. With Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, and now Neymar in the lot with the likes of Pedro / Tello shifting about the wings. United need a central midfielder, who can also play attacking, and most likely he'll get a lot of game time. With Rooney being a tit and most likely leaving this summer or next season, having a player of his calibre and potential - at 18million euros THIS SUMMER thanks to Barcelonas blunder - would be a steal.

The downside is, he most likely will pull a Fabregas somewhere down the line and want to head back to Barca in the future.

Even if he does, a few years of service for us at 18m euro, can't complain at that.

You need to read this thread more often. So many times it has been mentioned as to why this might not be the case with Thiago.

Wrong. I just stated that it wont happen. This thread is about him coming to United. I didnt say anywhere that he would stay at Barca. Again you were putting words in my mouth.

You make a great example of what Im talking about by then talking about Bayern. You are making assumptions based on a very poor interpretation of what I said.

The thread is about him coming to United. I said "he isnt coming". I didnt anywhere say he was going to stay at Barca or go elsewhere.

So what do you have to offer stack? Cause I gotta say, I don't think you're getting in the spirt of things......

I don't think he is that 'connected' to Barca. He is not even Catalan.

I have an opposing view, I dont think he is coming here. (wish he was, hope like feck Im completely wrong) So should I just stay out of the thread?

You also can consider that individual awards apart, he's won all that he can at Barca already. It wouldn't surprise me if he was to leave and end up back at Barca but the Fabregas situation is considerably different, he wasn't exactly going places with Arsenal.

yes :)

Look if we're going to make this happen, people with negative vibes need to either get high or join us. When it happens, you'll be inspired. No on will be untouchable! First thiago..then Ronaldo! ..But if you don't think Manchester United have a chance of enticing a 21 year old kid that just wants to play, then fine
