"thrashing out a contract" what the feck does that even mean? People in a board room are hitting some pieces of paper with sticks/batons/chairs ?

So it looks like it might actually happen......Utd.......signing a midfielder........I feel faint!

I remember school days when we weren't allowed out for playtime until we'd finished some copy up writing, so as playtime loomed, the handwriting would get more and more ridiculous as it got rushed through. I imagine his contract will look something like that. By the time he's penning his signature, it's pure chicken-scratch, tearing through the paper.

Is he actually any good? I've really not seen a lot of him.

I have watched him a lot in the last 3 years and I think that potential wise, he can be the best midfielder in the world. At the moment, I think that Gundogan is slightly better than him, while Thiago is slightly better than Wilshere. Considering that these three are the best young midfielders in the world I would say that as now Gundogan > Thiago > Wilshere with potential Thiago > Gundogan > Wilshere.

I really want to look at some YouTube videos but I will restrain until there's something official.

I am excited for Carrick. He gets a competent partner after a long while, feels good..

Cleverley might not be on Thiago's level but he has proved competence.

Will be nice to see how this works.. I always thought Moyes would want a more physical presence in there - still possible I guess, especially with Carrick being 32 very soon (I think).

Oh yeah he has. Not for 90 minutes though.

This is him, right?

Did you ever play 'Theme Park'? When you were negotiating with the trade union you had to repeatedly click your mouse button as quickly as possible to move your man's hand over the table quicker than the Union rep's hand, so you shook hands on your terms.

Well it's nothing like that.

Did you ever play Tarzan? where you have to go through the jungle and you collect things and the cool music plays in the background while you save your ape parents?

well its nothing like that.

You don't have to convert him, he's already a cnut.

(zing!)

After reading so many of your posts in the CE forum it consoles me to see that even you can go Muppet :). Still waiting to see Wibble post a gif of himself cooking his sausage ala Jake though.

RVP is keeping 20.

Hernandez might take 9

He'll get 8 if Anderson leaves, 14 if not.

Hernandez wears 14 for club and country that is he trademark now. Welbeck might get 9???

IF Thiago joins
IF Nani stays
IF Zaha doesn't go on loan
IF Anderson shreds a few pounds

Can you imagine the level of skill & trickery we would have in our team.....as the youngsters say it would be sick!

Thiago will get 8, Welbeck will possibly get 9.

If if Ando doesn't leave, I think that it's reasonable to strip him of that important number if we sign Thiago.

If Rooney leaves, Thiago should get no. 10

Phil Jones will get number 9, Thiago 4.

Four year? Why the feck didnt we give him a 14-year deal while we still have the chance? feck sake, Moyes..

United give long term contracts only to employees which haven't won jack shit yet. New policy.

He hasn't been a consistent starter yet for his team, hasn't played a minute for United yet. I think it's fair to say that he shouldn't be getting ridiculous wages right off the bat, we're not City, and he's so young that he's bound to get better and along with that his wage will rise, shit it might even take a single season for that to happen, I just don't think it'd be exactly fair, even though he's a fecking fanstastic prospect and has more than a good chance of succeeding here by the looks of things. He's still got to play well for United before getting the big bucks (besides it's not all about money for him, and I doubt the initial wage offered would be small anyway)

We wont know what he's being offered. We dont even know what Rooney gets

Have we ever taken an 'important' squad number from a player, excluding those that have lost their number going out on loan. I can't think of many where it's happened. I remember Brian McClair going from 9 to 13 when Andy Cole signed. It doesn't seem like something we would usually do though, where as Real Madrid and Barca seem to do it all the time.

just give in. if we don't sign him, you will have still enjoyed watching some very fine highlights. if we do, you'll know why you should be ecstatic.

I think despite some fans seeming to really care about it, no-one at the club gives a damn about shirt numbers aside from the 7 shirt. Nor do the players. Thiago knows that if he comes here he'll be an incredibly important player, and a starter. So what does his shirt number matter.

The only way this makes sense is if you're suggesting all those using "cocks out" and it's derivatives are cnuts. In which case, I couldn't agree more.

I can neither confirm nor deny. But yes, absolutely.

I wouldn't normally, but this is Thiago. It's Thiago, Raees. Thiago.

I only watched half of it but it's enough..

I knew he was good as I watch a bit of La Liga but his Youtube video is very good.
