Not sure why some are discounting our chances in getting Thiago over the scousers. We can offer champions league football and the chance to play with Pogba and Bruno. We’re still a big draw for players despite our current position.

Bayern doesn't want to sell.
It's Thiago who decided he wants a new challenge and Bayern won't stand in the way.
He has done them good service so they will allow him to leave, they just want to be compensated fairly.

The 30M price is just a steal. Liverpool are pathetic for trying to negotiate that down even more.

Where do you get that from? Pogba's form since returning from injury has been excellent. Him and Bruno play when fit - Thiago (if bought) will play alongside them. Rotate with Matic.

This will definitely push Scott down the pecking order!

Anyhow, don’t think Thiago rumours are true at all. Just a convenient club name to trigger our greatest rivals in upping their bid.
 
Overrated as hell, in my opinion. Bayern 2020 was immense mostly because of Gnabry, Davies and Lewa/Muller scoring their chances.

It's highly likely that we asked. Not sure if we will get him tough.

We wanted him before, he is quality, pricing is reasonable. Woodwood already knows Thiago's camp well - so if he is moving - it makes sense that we would ask.

If the response was that its a done deal to Liverpool - we'll move along. If not, then it's time for some competition!
 
If there is any truth in this and VDB then I would say Pogba may be on the move. I know that would upset some but he is not the all action 8/10 Ole seems to like and I don't think there is a better 6 than Thiago.

I don't quite understand why Pogba is supposed to be displaced by Thiago. They're nothing alike.

He would obviously replace Fred/Matic rather than Pogba or Bruno.

Keeping the ball is one of them best ways to defend. Thiago is excellent at it.

Pretty sure we can, question is if we are even interested? UNITED 2020 Seem to run a silent op on transfers so who really knows? Maybe finally Woodward learned something. Class never goes out of style, Thiago was the golden heir of a generation unseen at Barcelona before Pep lured him away. He is class and will add quality wherever he goes. Being a little injury prone as he is and also Pogba unfortunately I think game time sorts itself out rather naturally and compliamentary.

He is 30 years old and just won the treble with Bayern.

He is looking to play in the PL for a team that can compete with Bayern immediately.

We are at least 2 transfer windows away from that (and that is assuming we get a Sancho this summer).

Also, Klopp >>> Ole as far as shown trophy winning capacities.
 
If he and DVB both comes, we will 100% play the diamond that means Sancho wont come.

To be fair, Pogba partly plays that role because we literally have nobody else that can at the moment. Fred's too erratic and the rest lack a key component to their game (e.g. passing range). I think he's great at it, but he has more to offer in a more dynamic role, slightly further forward.

While our midfield situation is different to Bayern's (valid concern), you can also say the same about our fullbacks. The manner in which Shaw and Davies play their position is completely different – Shaw's tendency to support the midfield rather than bomb down the wing could be key to achieving some sort of balance.
 
So Bayern in trying to hurry Liverpool to pay, have linked United to the transfer. Same as Gabriel for Arsenal. Why do people fall for this? He is a good player but I don't see Woodward paying 30 million for a 29 year old injury prone midfielder. He is not convinced on paying 108 million for a talented 20 year old who probably is worth that money? Thiago is not coming here, even Klopp doubts he is worth 30 million. This one is a non starter. Sancho , Van De Beek , Grealish are more likely to be United players at the end of the transfer window than Thiago.

Think the first two could be Utd players at end of the window but won't sign all three as need a CB as well
 
Thiago could easily play at 6 next to Pogba.

People harp on about Fred doing that role on here - Thiago is better at pretty much every aspect of being a 6 than Fred.

Thiago would be a unbelievable signing but he’s going to Liverpool.

That s why I said pogba and Thiago as of now not a solution for your team. You need matic type enforcer who is in prime, lot more important coming season.

That type of player act as multiplier for pogba bruno creativity.

You simply can't rely on Luke Shaw too. He is injured lot nowadays. You need proper left back.

One right winger if not Sancho then some one else to stretch the defenders in right side.

Reliable striker who can score 15 goals minimum to compete with martial as well as rotate too.

And a pacy defender who can compensate Maguire s physicality.

If it's all done in this window you will fight for title not top 4 and get a completely balanced exciting team with technical ability as well as strength and pace.

Particularly this window if united try properly, can get players lot less and upgrade the team pretty well too.

I think at this stage of his career he not that interested in joining a team building phase and is looking to add titles now to his CV , with Liverpool he walks in a team that is ready now to win titles and CL , I think working with Klopp is also a big draw for him,
 
If Thiago wants to sign for us, he'll come. There is no way we're not interested if that's a possibility.
I haven't read too much about the Fred to Galatasaray rumor, but that sounds like a possibility if we'd like to sign Thiago.

But, I think Thiago has his mind set for Liverpool, so that's where he'll end up. Such a shame.

Donnie VB looks seriously on. That surely totally shuts the door on this. We can't possibly be signing 2 mids unless one of the 6 we have is leaving (even before you get to the Pereira and Lingard types who I don't class in the 6)

I like Scott but those are the challenges when playing for United. It will force him to become better. Same for Greenwood if we get Sancho. They grew up in the academy when we were winning titles. They'll know what t takes.

Raiola has already said that we're in the process of negotiating a new Pogba contract. Same like he said about Ibra who recently signed a new one.

If we get both Thiago and VDB then we have to move on Fred, so yes. He'd fetch much more on the market than selling McTominay or Matic, with the former being useful for HG reasons as well.
