Thiago Alcântara | 2016/17 Performances

Thiago only lived in Brasil from 1992 to 1994 and later from 2001 to 2004. The rest of his live he lived in Spain.

His cousin Rodrigo Moreno who plays for Valencia opted for Spain, too.

Yeah, it's really not surprising to see him choose Spain.

I don't consider him a traitor; it makes sense. Very different from Diego Costa and Thiago Motta who represented Brazil first and then jump ship.

pepole make fun of 7-1 but spain lost 6-1, got dumped in group stage and no one cares cause thats the norm for spain, sucking at soccer ahueuaheuaheuhauheuaheuhaue

7-1 was semi finals Semi if you consider we owned germany in olympic finals.. and in 2002, its morally our advantage still
HahAHAHAHahHAHAH

Dude i only have 1 more post here

Thiago lived 8 years in brazil.. but where did he learn to read and write? brazil\
where did he say daddy first? brazil
i seen enough, hes brazilian and a traitor
i dont want traitors at united

Lets be honest if he'd came here under Moyes, between him and LvG he'd of wanted out before Jose came along.

Why can't we just admit we were wrong and pay up $150m to make him ours the way it should have been to start with.

I don't believe for a second that he had Bayern as a preference with miserable life conditions you have there with absolutely no correlation to the Spanish life style like food, weather, language etc. I can see Thiagos face infront of me as he's trying to swallow that boiled 2kg knödel only spiced with pepper and salt. Lovely Bavarian cuisines :wenger: I think it was like everyone else think; that balled eyed man we had at the moment.

He has been far and wide the best footballer in the Bundesliga this season and in terms of performances, only Neymar and Messi are ahead in top leagues.

Yeah, miserable munich can not compete with Manchester, the Paris of the north

As opposed to Manchester, where it's perpetually raining?

You guys have never been to Munich. It's obvious by the way you're talking. I think you should cool down a bit.
I spent a week there in 2015 actually and loved it. I plan on going again soon.

 Joined best poster with @Wumminator on here, by some distance!

That map says it's 3.7 interceptions per game and whoscored is saying the same. 8.33 is probably a mistake. 3.7 interceptions per game is nonetheless very good though.
Maybe it should really read 8.33 since he (is a god and) had 11 today against Gladbach.

Well said Successful, well said

He had just won his 8th league title, aged 26.

What do you make of him harms? When I see him at his best he's one of the most enjoyable players to watch in my lifetime, absolutely oozes class

I've been in love with him ever since that 2013 Uefa U-21 Championship. Scratch that, probably earlier since I watched that tournament just for him
His technical ability is second to none when it comes to today's central midfielders (Iniesta aside), and, hopefully, he had overcome his injury problems. He is playing phenomenally well this season too.

Was that the one where he scored the goal from the direct free kick from really far out or was that under 19s? He and Herrera made one hell of a midfield pair

Nope, that's the one where he scored a hat-trick in the final. What a team that was - Thiago, De Gea, Isco, Carvajal (benched though), Koke, Morata etc.

You guys reckon Barca will take him back like they usually do?

Different prospect taking an established star from Bayern compared to Arsenal.

People slating Moyes, wasn't it Giggsy apparently who said he isn't a United player?

It's far less impressive than it looks: three of those were won while he appeared in less than 10 league games (only one single appearance in the first two at Barça and 7 games in his second at Bayern) and another one appearing a mere 16 games (first one at Bayern).

He just (2 or 3 days ago) signed a new contract at Bayern until 2021 and seems completely happy there. He is not leaving anytime soon.

Edit: Arsenal is a selling club. Bayern are not.

He was exceptional in the 2011 U-21 European Championship, too - despite being one of the youngest players in the setup. Started watching the Spanish team because we were being linked with De Gea, but ended up being mesmerized by the Martínez-Herrera-Thiago midfield that dominated every team they faced - and ended up winning the tourney with goals from Thiago and Herrera in the final vs Shaqiri, Sommer, Mehmedi and Xhaka's Switzerland.

vs. Sturridge, Jones, Smalling, Welbeck, Walker, Cleverley in the Group Stages:

The rest of the squad wasn't shabby, either - Mata, Parejo, Azpilicueta, Adrián, Muniain.

I think he's massively overrated. Did give the ball away time and again against Real this season, tries to pull off his tricks which by the way go more often than not wrong and on top of that his short passes are often very poor against good oppositions. He can't walk the talk, he's not as good as he thinks he is.

Games against Dortmund in the cup and especially Real were very poor.

Thiago has great abilities, but his progress isn't just good enough. I know that a lot of people have a different opinion, including WhoScored, but me and my mates (a lot of them are Bayern fans) see it differently.
You simply can't afford to lose out on the ball in the middle of the park, Thiago doesn't how to keep things safe. I don't think that under Jose Mourinho Thiago would make it into the starting lineup, no more than an impact player coming off the bench against poor oppositions.

I take Pogba any day of the week and for that amount of money i'm actually glad that United didn't buy him.
