Gaming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Not seeing anywhere near the degree of bugs others are complaining of, Just landed in skellige isles at lvl 19. fantastic game.

Mine has been free from bugs so far as well. Just finished Croockback Bog, God these crones were hideous! I think I might be leaving Velen for Novigrad very soon, I'm only level 8 (albeit very close to 9) but I still have some decent side quests and contracts to do by the time I depart. I like the story but what draws me in the most are probably these small side quests with its own stories, they're just so well made.

Apart from a few framerate drops and a couple of times either the music or sound fx disappeared, I've had no bad bugs either

Still in Velen on level 10

I've installed 1.05 and my game is now bugged to the point where I can't leave a house

In Gangs of Novigrad after you..
talk to Rico the halfling at the top, when I go down to the bottom to leave, there's someone standing directly in the doorway and I can't get past or interact!

I have had hardly any on the Xbox. The framerate was crap when it was first released but that been patched now. I just get multiple Roaches every now and then.

Ye I never had many bugs. One time I got stuck on a rock and one time I loaded up the game and the framerate went to shit so I just restarted it was fine.

To those that have completed the game I just finished the quest "Missing Persons" how far am I from the end of the main story? I've really enjoyed it but it is feeling like I've been playing a long time.

Once you've met with Yen and finished her side quest, finished the side quests for Hjagmar and Cerys, and then found Uma, you're at the stage where the game will just be main plot for the next 10-ish hours and then you're done.

There's a lot more than 10 hours of main plot left after that mission! Unless I'm not reading correctly.

Shit yeah, I guess you're right. 15-20 hours is probably right.
Battle of Kaer Morhen
Kill one of Wild Hunt + crones
Stuff in Novigrad with Yen, Ciri, Avallac'h, Philippa
Final battle?

Open your spoiler.

Still getting a bit of screen tearing. I've disabled vsync in-game and turned on adaptive vsync with triple buffering on my card. Not really sure what else to do at this point...

The Baron quest could be the entire storyline for another game and it's only a side-quest, albeit a substantial one.
I think it's a main story mission, you cannot progress the story without Baron's input (they were essential for me in knowing where to go next as I'd finished two of the other main stories in Velen first, the one from Keira and Croockbag Bog which are in a way connected with Baron's story, especially the latter) from what I remember and I've only finished it a couple days ago.

I am supposed to go to Novigrad now and then head off to Skellige. Haven't been to Novigrad yet at all so the sight of it will probably take my breath away at first  I'm taking it slow though, still some side quests and contracts to finish, I reckon 5-6 hours before I progress the main quest.

What's the large city at the east end of map? The huge one with regular map.

South east? Nilfgaard military camp. Though if only east then thats Oxenfurt.

It's not particularly hard, unless your deck is shit? Where you at in the game?

Yes, unless you're challenging difficult opponents.

Make sure you buy cards off merchants and innkeepers.

Once you get a few cards it's really easy to win more or less every game. I've not lost for ages now with my Nilfgaard deck.

I havent been buying shit, its pretty much the same deck you start off with (northern realms one) and its near impossible to win if they play a hero card or something.

Guess i need to buy cards eh

Finished the main story last night, it's an amazing game. I cant wait for the DLC, now that's one sentence i never thought id say.

So, I'm not really into 'magic' type games. But I enjoy story/fighting games. Will I enjoy this? What's the split, is it more magic-y or more emphasis on story?

It's very heavy on story. Heavy on fighting, heavy on magic, heavy on awesomeness and heavy on virtual boobs and bums.

Hmmm, I'm tempted to buy it in the PS store but have a bad feeling I'll hate it. I read somewhere that the character can be whatever you want (good or bad), is that true?

Edit: Ah feck it. I bought it, and is downloading.

It's not possible to hate Witcher 3. I'm not a huge fan of RPGs or fantasy but it's pulled me in big time, more so than any other game, possibly ever.

It's not hard fantasy either. It has monsters and slight amount of magic but the vast majority of it is human.

Anyone on PC noticing the game crashing a lot more since the new patch?

Its always been OK for me but now I'm crashing around every 30 mins

Only had one crash so far on pc and that was only when I alt-tabbed while it was loading a save. It's a very stable game for me, came accross my first bug today.. A secret wall that won't open, luckily they've apparently already patched it so it is no longer needed to get in there for the main questline.

Happened to me first time round, does it involve a torch on the wall? It glows red but nothing happens when you interact?

I'd say the genre is pretty similar to Game of Thrones. Both are fantasy but also very gritty, and both focus plenty on the political ordeals of their respective fictional realm, albeit GoT even more so. Great game and great TV series. If you like one you're bound to like the other in my opinion.

Yeah, think it's an nvidia issue, happening to me and many others with a GTX 970.

Though since I reinstalled the game (touch wood) it hasn't crashed.

There's very few black and white choices in the game, if any. It's nothing like BioWare RPGs.

Not having any CTD. Just screen tearing like I mentioned before. But I'm on a 780 unlike you super rich kids...

5 days worth of play time in. just started skelliga and gwent. feck me the value on this game, and its up there with the best i've ever played.

Finished The Witcher 2 last night, been playing 3 all day today. Absolutely loving it so far! Playing on blood and broken bones and the difficulty seems to be about right. Tempted to up to the highest level but I'll give it a while before I decide. I've just killed the Griffin in the first area, should I visit all the places of interest in this zone before I move on? I don't think there's much of a chance of over leveling as I'm only just past level 3 and leveling is really slow from what I can tell?

Aye visiting everywhere in the first area has you pretty much on the right course level-wise

My game crashed on the PS4 last night and some kind of error popped up. First time I've ever experienced a fault with it though, hopefully the last.

@DatIrishFella
Lol at Lambert. Bastard spent all his pre-battle time bitching about Yen but ends up becoming Keira's lapdog. Letho's dialogue during the battle is brilliant too. 'We gonna take him [Imlerith] on?' ''Nah, too risky.' 'Pansy.' :D
