Bloody Gwent, it's like crack.

What level did you guys go to Novigrad?

I'm level 11 at the moment and haven't got round to going there yet because of my OCD with side quests and hidden locations.

New patch for PS4 out. Still suffering from this bug which they said would be fixed in the patch but nope:

Can't get the DLC Temerian gear because of that.

Also the new patch seems to have made the game uglier in an attempt to make it run smoother. However, every gaming forum has been complaining that it made the game stutter even more and the draw distance worse. On top of that some have suffered a new bug that will not let people load their game saves and crash their ps4 http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/38349-PS4-Error-ce-34878-0?p=1684589#post1684589

Would avoid.

If it's any consolation the Temeria gear isn't worth it anyway in my opinion. Never bothered with it myself. White Orchard is easy anyway and you soon get better stuff in Velen.

Same

Exactly the same here, level 11 and not been yet but will soon after I've got my last two sub level 10 side quests out of the way.

I'll be honest the main thing tempting me to go is that there are apparently many gwent opponents there.

@DWelbz19

That quest I was stuck on where I couldn't read the letter is a known bug. It is because I have already cleared out the bandit camp it would sent me to once I read the letter. Dirty funds the quest is called incase it happens to anyone else.

My best card is like... 7 or something. Still unbeaten though.

Anyone else avoided using better armour purely because it makes Geralt look like a twat?

How come the Bestiary isn't showing me the Werewolf details so I know what to use against it?

Why do you have to double press L3 to call your horse when as far as I know, a single press of L3 does nothing?

So.. Keira

*Plot spoilers*

I banged her and then killed her. That's how this friends with benefits thing works, right?

I ended up reloading my save because I chose the "can't let you do that" option and didn't want to kill her. I think she's a good character.

For some reason, I want to know what happened to that third mouse

Yeah me too, I felt bad that I'd killed her and didn't realise I had a choice. Wasn't paying too much attention to the dialogue at the time.

I can sense that I am near the end of the main story now. Its making me kind of sad. For me it has been the best game I have played since the current gen of consoles came out.

I'm conflustered. I arrived in Velen but every ? mark here is way too high for me to go near. What's up with that? Do I stick to the main story for now or something?

One of the first side quests is called Twisted Firestarter. I'm knackered and making no sense but I want to play all night and ring in sick tomorrow.

Yes.

Some question marks you're supposed to come back to at a higher level, just continue with the story and more stuff opens up for your level.

Ah, sounds awful. Hopefully they sort it out.

Stick to the main quest to begin with, and when it starts to branch out just do some roaming and dip into the side quests. Main quests level you up very quickly, because it's the only thing that really gives you a lot of XP.

This game is full of little references, I love shit like that. Was stood next to a random npc witch hunter and out of nowhere he goes "Maybe, maybe not. Maybe go feck yourself."

Should be quite a few that you can do. From my (fairly limited) experience, if you stick to the ones you'll be near anyway by doing quests for your level you seem to be fine. Finally got around to playing this properly, so just got there myself and had to run for my life on more than one occasion!

The quest system is annoying me greatly though. Who the feck thought only being able to view ONE quest on the map was a good idea?

I'm pretty sure you could loot hidden/guarded treasures at higher level question marks and run away from enemies then come back when you've leveled up (done this a couple of times before). It's the monster nests which are a bit of a problem (haven't tried to destroy nests before killing enemies yet).

It's littered with them. There's a fighter called 'Durden the Tailor'.

My favourite was 2 guards in the Baron's castle talking.
"Bring out the gimp."
"But the gimps sleeping."
"Well you're just gonna have to wake him up then."

There is also a Zed's dead reference in one of the quests.

Late game major spoilers.

Just did the battle of Kaer Morhen, and WOAH! that was fantastic, felt like applauding afterwards  Uncle Vesimer though, those feels at his funeral. :( also had a snowball fight with Ciri and we're off to kill Imilreth now at a Witches sabbath

Before I post screenies, late game spoiler thoughts on certain characters.

The Crones human form, mang, they is hawt

Here is the superior Feline armour, superior Griffin armour & the superior Ursine armour (third version of said armours, each armour can be upgraded four times). I now have all components and diagrams to the make the mastercrafted versions of said armours but I'm not at the required level.

Took me God knows how long to find everything to make these.

Will spoiler them in case peeps wanna wait to find/see them in their game.

The size of this game is incredible. I've clocked well over 10 hours already and I'm barely into the story, haven't even visited Baron yet. I was on my way but then I met a dog being bullied by wolves so I killed them which opened up a small side quest, then continued and came across a huge ass flying monster so decided to kill it, I was near Oxenfurt then so I figured why not go there and look around so I found myself roaming around the town for a while only to realize that there's an even bigger town north from here (or maybe that is Oxenfurt and I'm in a different town now) so I will go there now - but not before I finish two contracts that I've got here). Brilliant

Novigrad - holy space balls, the size and atmosphere of the place.

On a different note anyone tried playing Dragon Age inquisition after this? I went back curiously and couldn't believe how much poorer it felt - in quests, locations and general atmosphere. And this was a game I really rated.

I can never go back to it, I know it seems like hyperbole but this game is on another level to anything, especially in comparison to DA:I.

I'll be playing Dragon Age in the Summer, I've owned it for months but haven't got the time to get down to it properly.

Anyone encountered the XP bug yet (at some point you will gain no XP from any quests you do)? http://forums.cdprojektred.com/thre...-impossible-to-play-gt-cdprojekt-please-reply

They've acknowledged it and are working on a fix.

I'd just finished the White Orchard area last weekend and was about to pick this up again... patch 1.03 on the PS4 was a gamebreaker according to the nerds there and with the possibility of getting this annoying XP bug I'll just skip updating my game to 1.03 and stop playing until I see the reactions to the next patch.

You're going to find it hard going back to it after this. The quests and characters are so bland in comparison. The world feels so much less alive too.
