Enjoyed the episode. Wasn't as intense for a sustained period of time like the first episode but it was a solid follow-up. There are a few unanswered questions what will keep people interested.
Literally nothing happens for the first 10 minutes of episode 2. They really could shorten the episode length by 15 minutes and make it a far better show.
Bob was bit (walker under the water) on the leg they amputated and ate as he was limping after their raid on the community centre and then when he went outside he started to cry, maybe they did him a favour.
And fcuk
Tyrese for not killing that fella that threatened the baby and then sent him out to a pack of walkers to die
So it was not that long ago that Carl was turning cold blooded killer shooting that guy who had surrendered right in the face and didn't he basically tell his father while they were at the prison that they had to be more ruthless or something like that? Now last night he is suddenly telling his father "Hey everyone can't be evil?" after almost getting eaten by canibals and almost getting raped by that gang.

Watched this for the first time since the beginning of season 4 after I'd given up. No idea what's going on but the bit with them all tied up and waiting to be chopped was actually pretty good! I see yet another Wire character has entered the cast now, the vicar dude. Reckon in a few weeks Omar will make an appearance.
Slow episode but I guess they do have to slow things down to build up the rest of the series. The problem is it usually stays like this up until the mid season break. Saying that, the end was good.
Near the end when Daryl and Carol were talking... was it just me or at some point was there a woman standing behind Carol? Maybe a botch during the filming?

Interesting! I think you could be in to something with that especially if you read into what we said - "if it makes you feel any better, you taste better than we thought you would"...

but then surely that would mean they risk infecting themselves by eating his leg?
I thought the episode was fine, it cant be non-stop zombie killing action - there has to be build up, they're in a post apocalyptic world - every decision they make has to be planned out meticulously which is going to slow everything down, plus it's not like they want to kill zombies all the time they do it to survive.
It was obvious that Bob was going to be the victim - he had a lot more screen time with his gf and showcasing their love for each other only made it obvious that something bad was gonna happen to them.
Happy that Rick found his balls, he's got that ruthlessness back to him.
Watching the episode now... Why do they keep introducing characters who would blatantly die off early on? I mean this guy puked at the sight of zombies.
Other then that the season has been entertaining actually, unlike the last few.
Carl......if the producers or the writers had any sort of pride in their work they would kill him off, the characters fine but this kid can't act for shit and its hugely distracting.
It's reverted back to walking through the woods again. Probably continue along that theme until they get to Washington at the end of the season.
Nice to see Brodie even if his character is yet another dumbass wimp.
Karl is like a running joke now. Not only did they find the only American kid who's unable to act, they point-blank refuse to kill off the annoying runt!
It is a bit tedious the way they constantly build a character up only to kill them off. It becomes really obvious. A few shock/surprise deaths wouldn't be such a bad thing.
Why oh why did they not just kill the rest of the cannibals? It's just plain retarded and you could see this coming from miles off. You find a bunch of completely fecked up cannibals armed to the teeth, you destroy their home, kill a bunch of their folk and walk away without even making sure you aren't being followed? They were there for the taking. This level of stupidity is infuriating. And Tyrese is a complete liability to the group, letting that guy from the hut live.
I have but the cannibal leader was talking to him for a minute or two, you would think in that time that Bob would see that one of his legs was gone, no?
So does Bob know Gareth prior to the prison / his introduction to TWD? The way Gareth was speaking to him at the end of episode 2 made it sound like he did. Also;
He knew Bob's name (although that could easily have been overheard whilst stalking the group)
They could of just killed him rather than chop his leg off and
potentially saving him from changing if his leg had been bitten by that bloater zombie
When the group were at Terminus, Bob was last in line to have his throat slit
Could be reading into it too much, but seems plausible

But if they eat someone who's been bitten, doesn't it make them turn quicker? Similarly to when they get scratched... or does it need to be in direct contact with their blood

They turn when they die. A bite or a scratch from a walker or consumption of infected flesh would just expedite the process. Herschel was able to live long since they cut his leg off and prevent the infection from bite to spread.

Doesn't a bite or scratch give them a fever and cause them to die and then they turn? It happened a couple of times in season one. Wasn't it Jim that got bitten but took a while to die and then turned?
Isn't it logical to think that if Bob had been bitten he would have that fever and if they ate him they would get that fever too?
I don't buy the fact that because they chopped off his leg (possibly where they got he got bitten) this would have saved him. It saved Hershel because it was done right away. Bob was sitting around having a party with the group. If he was bitten, he's a goner... or should be.

Yes I was implying that the bite/scratch leads to the death of a person and then the dead person would turn. Don't remember the name of the person but they did leave a guy who was bitten and had very high fever under a tree in Season 1.
Re Bob: I don't know if consumption of flesh would lead to fever and then death. Didn't Rick encounter a woman last season who was living like a walker & eating flesh of a dead person/walker but was actually not bitten, who he then proceeds to kill.
Also, we don't know where Bob was bitten. He may have been bitten on his stomach, chest, the other leg, either hands. It could have been a scratch also. As he was pulled under water by that walker, it probably gives the writer enough room to deal with his character.
He was walking around outside which was probably on guard but it might not be.
Maybe he wanted to distance himself.
A good start to the next episode would be his cries turning into laughter and then telling them.
