Television The Walking Dead

I actually thought it was really bloody good, probably the only time this season I've thought that about an episode.

Agreed, a bit of a shame it was the finale though, as someone said, it felt more like the episode before the finale. I imagine Scientist guy will be the first one to die as that will then enable the other two to drop their mission going to Washington or whatever.

I wonder where the hell Luna is though? Surely it'd have been more shocking to see her as one of the victims for the finale which suggests she isn't at this place. Good to see Dave being cautious though, made me laugh last episode that the Army blokes just strolled in.

You'd think they'd watch the compound a bit longer though if they were being that cautious. Go round the perimeter etc?

How are they going to get out of that predicament though? I can't see how Carol and T-Dawg could possibly free them? Or even know where the hell they are? I imagine the only way they could escape is if they did a jump on them and leg it for the hidden weapon stash.

Some hidden weapons aren't unlikely. It's not like the pat down looked that thorough. Also, did we see Sister #2 in the box? Maybe she's being kept for.. other reasons.

I think Carol and T-Dawg IV are also heading to terminus. May be they will meet up with few others and rescue Rick n co. Rick did leave that gun stack outside. In any case, it will happen since well they are the 'heroes'. As far as who dies. I think the army gal will go for sure. One of Glen or Maggie will probably die next season too. Glen I think.

Pretty fun epsisode actually. Rick's zombie rage was epic. Maybe he can appease the Terminus group with his awesome cannibal skills.

Thought it was one of the best season finales I've seen bar none. The metaphor of the animal trap/noose for terminus was really clever and only clicked for me at the end .

Loved the flashbacks and Rick telling Carl not to give the sheep names since "they would be food and there's no point getting attached", then the people in terminus not referring to them by their real names (all but confirming cannibalism) when they were directing them towards the trailer was really, really subtle and smart.

The scene when Rick went full zombie made me say "holy shit!" out loud which no TV show has done in a while. Great acting all around, really looking forward to the next season.
I didn't click on about the trap bit until now, or the not naming the animals. But now you mention them they do fit in well

I wonder where the hell Luna is though?

Why you call her Luna?

Thought it was good. But realistically, they have no weapons now. This cannibal crowd should have them separated and tied up so they can't plot an escape or an attack. They know both groups know each other and now they're just leaving them in a trailer together.

The zombie bite by Rick had me laughing and thinking Holy Shit. It was brilliant.

Yeah I thought the cannibalism was implied with the subtle hints. Im glad they didnt just come out with somebody saying it as a throwaway line like it was mentioned earlier in the thread. It was a good episode, I still felt like it was a penultimate episode mainly cos of Ricks last words and it feels like some shit is going to happen in the next episode (which would be the finale)

If they are cannibals its stupid, because the BBQ gave you the slight feeling of it but had no follow up. A pile of bones? Yeah like the whole world isnt full of bones and dead bodies and has nothing to do with cannibalism. They should have had a line in the episode that confirms it at the very least. For now it just looks like they are locking people in the train car and taking their stuff

Wasn't the cannibal thing labelled obviously enough for you? I suppose they could have all worn "Hello I'm a cannibal T-Shirts" or something.

Really, really enjoyed that episode bar the last line. Was waiting for a real cliffhanger and a secret plan/bit of knowledge that Rick had, but all he comes up with is "because they're messing with the wrong people". Feck's sake is that cringey. But in terms of the cannibal cult I think it's a real twist in the story we haven't properly had yet, and I'm excited to see how they do this one. Knowing the writers though, it is going to probably drag for half the season and focus a lot on the Carol bunch *yawn*

I thought Rick said "They're messing with their own people" at first. Was very confused.

I reckon Judith is more use than Carl in a fight. Dave just isn't believable as a hard nut...I mean, it's Egg FFS.

I was surprised that there're actually two different actresses, Emily Kinney and Evanna Lynch. Always thought about her as Luna too.

They really did confirm it in the episode though....the pile of human bones that they passed being led through terminus; the metaphor of the animal trap in the flashbacks being terminus; the powdered milk on the floor of the trailer they trap them in being used to fatten them up; the flashback to the scene with Carl where Rick tells him not to name the pigs they are farming because "they will soon be food" and then the people at Terminus not using their real names ("samurai girl, you're next" etc.), plus this whole scene :

I thought it was really clever, well-paced, great acting. Really excited for season 5 now and I never counted myself a huge fan of the show before really!

You might be right. I hadnt thought about the powdered milk and what the guy said in the image above makes some sense. With the milk I was expecting Judith to be in there and when she wasnt I forgot all about it.

Mike. Have you been watching the show at all? He's one of the leading characters.

I don't know who Dave is either?

I thought the episode was quite good. It was a nice glimpse of the remains to show that they were cannibals, and it was obvious they were being ushered into a trap by the way the rooftop gunmen were aiming their weapons, and by the fact that the Episode was called "A" and every door they ran through was marked with an "A" including the container at the end. Rick's throat bite was awesome too!

Really good episode. I laughed out loud at how terrible their shooting was until I realised that they were just trying to direct them.

I think you have to be bloody stupid to think that they're anything but cannibals. I mean come on Ekeke, ffs!

Really good episode, Rick biting that guy in the throat was awesome! I wish they hadn't ended it on that cheesy line but I'm quite looking forward to next season to see where they take this storyline involving the cannibals.

I thought so. I didn't pay much attention to last season though so it was possible I completely missed someone's name.

It's actually a sort of "in" joke and not a specific dig at you. Earlier in the thread someone referred to Rick as "Mike or Steve."

Finally caught up with this anyway. The last few episodes were great.

Is it safe say we are finally done with Rick being a hormonal little bitch and now he's back to being a 'leader'.

Pics in Senoia, GA, where scenes in the Woodbury (governor) episodes where shot. There's a real Woodbury in Georgia, further down south.

One of my favourite Show out there. Bloody zombie killing and mayhem

Shane used to be one of my favourite but he got killed in season 2. I'm yet to watch any episode of season 4 though.

Well better run away before I get spoiled

You've missed some good stuff. You'll enjoy it.

Well that was good fun. I'm always miles behind everyone as I can't watch series properly, have to wait till the series is almost finished to start it. It really is completely fecking ridiculous and some of the writing/scripting is just ludicrously awful. But I love the bloody thing so much, and I can't really explain why. It's a bit like Lost, it's getting progressively shitter but there's no way I'm letting go now I've got the bug.

Anyway, a few random observations. Gonna be spoiler central obviously.

The terminus did indeed look a little too good to be true. The whole cannibal thing was decent, but it didn't have the same effect it probably would have done having played the game. Was wondering what the point of all the flashbacks was, but to be fair to them there were some decent metaphors and a bit of nice foreshadowing for us as well which I wasn't aware of at the time.

I suppose I've ODd on survival type shit with this, the game, the last of us and other random things over the past couple of years and there's only really so many things that can happen. Hope they come up with some new things next series, though obviously they are still very loosely basing it on the comic so they have certain concepts they need to introduce.
By the way, if you haven't played the game, do it. It's genuinely brilliant and not in a guilty pleasure kind of way like the show is.

The lezzer thing was bizarre and pointless. Now that it's happened, can anyone tell me if she was in the comic (or even existed for that matter?). She's definitely the most expendable character so the next one to go probably. Ginge and Hispanic Lara Croft will probably bite the dust too. Scientist guy has too much going for him to go so soon I reckon.

I was a bit annoyed they killed off Herschel, he was decent. Bit weird how they never expanded on what happened to the blonde daughter, and it was hilariously ridiculous how Maggie didn't give a monkeys.

And Jesus Christ, how shit was the guy in the tank as an actor? You just killed my brother? Damn. Long live the king, no questions asked. And then his death - rather than fear/pain/sadness, he just had that very remotely disappointed look you get when you check your lottery numbers. Up there with Don Self from Prison Break when it comes to the worst actor I've ever had to watch stakes. Carl's acting when he jumped to the slightly unnecessary conclusion that his sister must be dead was also laughably bad.

It's good fun seeing D'Angelo and Cutty trying their luck in the zombie apocalypse together. I'm assuming they're gonna take D'Angelo away from me again. One/both will probably die soon, even though they're much better than most of the actors on the show. And how many T-Dogs have we had then? 1.0 got eaten, 2.0 prisoner T-Dog too, then I assume Tyreese is 3 and Bob number 4. What kind of T-Dog name is Bob anyway? Disappointing.

The one proper positive though, those two little girls. The normal one was ok but the mental one was seriously good for a child actor. When they found her standing over her sister's body and then made her 'look at the flowers' - that was seriously good television. Bit of a shame that the best episode was the one third from last, and with the exception of the finales the others were largely forgettable.

Apologies for the rant, having said all that I still can't bloody wait for the next one.

Also, didn't the actor for Daryl say there was a new way to make the walkers scary? He lied, the bastard. Closest we got were the ones that were (kind of) on fire, which if anything was a bit less scary as you could see them from a mile off. That massive fire and that zombie horde - both conveniently swept under the carpet too.

He was just amping up the new series to the audience, as did all the other major characters.

It was a very poor season, worse than one, two and three. Most episodes were poorly constructed filler, besides the odd one of two.

The finale was pretty poor, but competitively speaking it was 'alright'. Certainly some potential for next season with the group in peril straight away and the whole furore over Carol, Tyreese and Beth.

Just thinking about the characters; how many do you feel emotionally invested in? The new characters are awful - Hispanic Lara Croft, army bloke and the mullet. Adding on top of that Bob, Tyreese, Carl, etc. Hershel was a great character and good actor and them gets killed off. I only like Rick really, Michonne and Daryl are alright, but the rest are meh.
