Television The Walking Dead

Was bored so was re-watching season 1, and I think Glenn is definitely alive. In fact I'll be shocked if he's not. Reason is:

At the start of episode 2, after Glen helps Rick get out of the tank, Rick asks Glenn why did he save him. Glenn says "Hope, that if I'm ever that far up shit creek, somebody might do the same for me".

Lo and behold, Glenn falls in a crowded area, and there is a dumpster that he can hide underneath right next to him if he crawls there like Rick went under the tank to get away from all of them in season 1.

Yep. And as I mentioned above, that exact scene was the last time any fecker in this show used a walkie talkie. They didn't just reappear for no reason.

Also in season 1 the zombies picked stuff up like rocks and bricks to break doors down. Seem to have gotten a lot dumber as the show went on and now just stumble around more or less.

Good points, seems to be a lot of symmetry between that episode and this one.
I wondered if there was a way he could somehow get inside the dumpster that would be a good way to mask his scent.

Plus the sound of the gun Rick used that attracted walkers - if he was close enough that could have lured away some of the ones surrounding Glen.

Terrible episode. Morgan eventually indirectly killing Eastman was so cliched.

Reminded me of an old Lost episode with Desmond and whoever was in the hatch with him. Pretty dull really but at least the Morgan backstory thing is over and done with now.

Haven't watched it yet. No news on Glenn?
Am we allowed to discuss the episode now?

I was given a reprieve a a couple of pages back for mistakenly revealing what this episode would be about ahead of time - don't want to push my luck again lol

EDIT: It seems we can.

No, as stated previously this episode was all about tying up the the Morgan story - and it stuck to it.

Lol, sorry man. Wasn't sure either. Thanks for the note though.

Im gonna be opposite and say I liked it. It was a good story on Morgan in that it basically told us the answers for some of the questions people were complaining about:
-Why does he not use guns / not kill people
-Where was he all this time (before he was on his way to Terminus)
-How did he learn his ninja skills
-How did he go from batshit crazy to his character now

TBH, reading through this thread, im sure a lot of people complained about it and we got our answers.

I think from the whole cast, apart from Rick, Morgan would probably be the one character I would say they could do a whole episode on. It was something similar to what AoS did last week.
Morgan has lost everything he could have (apart from his own life), so the code he now goes by makes sense. It wouldnt work for Rick though who still has two kids and will do everything to protect them.

Eastman's character was good. His death (bite) was the lamest thing. Whilst obvious it would happen, the way it did was lame. But that aside, I liked his story as well and how it sorta paralleled Morgan which eventually was a nice reveal.

I can understand peoples frustrations given what happened last week to Glenn, but I understand why they put this episode here (as its a break from that but not really furthering the timeline). If that makes sense.

No wonder Eastman looked familiar. He was Drew Carey's cross dressing brother in The Drew Carey Show.

Did it really need an hour long episode? Was bloody boring.

Shame about Tabitha.

Hang on, didn't Rick discover batshit crazy Morgan on the way to Terminus? Does this mean that they were emphasising that Morgan is capable of having a breakdown at any minute?

Eastman's a fat fook considering he's one of these zen martial arts type dudes who's living off the land and all that

His death as others have said was infuriating. We all knew he was going to die, but for him to turn his back on the f-ing walker...give me a break, surely they could have done that better!

He had his stupid staff in his hand, so instead of shoving it into the face of the walker, he runs over and shoves Morgan while facing the wrong way.

It's not a big deal obviously...still

Interesting though that at the very end we hear Rick's voice shouting "Open the gate". Showing that he's obviously survived (like that was ever in doubt).

Exactly how I felt, it was the worst part of it the episode. These walkers can be kept at a distance with barehands, a piece of wood would have easily done the job. Wish they would find better ways for them to get bitten rather than stupidness which makes the characters look stupid especially in one on one situations (or two on one)

One of my biggest gripes with the show is people who seemingly are smart suddenly losing all intelligence.

That and stealth zombies.

Disagree with the consensus here.

I really enjoyed that episode and I was more worried about the well being of that goat than any of the usual crew.

My mates misses is also called Tabitha. That's about all I took from this episode.

so is this Morgan marathon worth watching?

Yes, especially explains his behaviour from this season so far

Personally, for me, one of the best TWD episodes theyve done on a character.

I agree. A welcome change of pace imo and a refreshing angle on an interesting character.

Can see why some would feel differently though, especially appearing right in the midst of some major drama.

Feck you Walking Dead, just feck you. Stop doing these episodes that focus on 1 or 2 persons. I haven't watched any other shows in which they do this with such regularity. The Governor had a few of his own, then Beth, then Glenn/Carol etc. I've had enough of this exaggerated 'character development'. It was a nothing episode right after one of the show's most amazing twists...

I'm one of the few actual fans of the show on here, so no surprise I love the one of episodes too. I thought tonight's was superb

Was it Rick's voice? You're sure?

I mean, I know he's not dead but it just seemed someone random shouting.
