Television The Walking Dead

Im gonna be opposite and say I liked it. It was a good story on Morgan in that it basically told us the answers for some of the questions people were complaining about:
-Why does he not use guns / not kill people
-Where was he all this time (before he was on his way to Terminus)
-How did he learn his ninja skills
-How did he go from batshit crazy to his character now

TBH, reading through this thread, im sure a lot of people complained about it and we got our answers.

I think from the whole cast, apart from Rick, Morgan would probably be the one character I would say they could do a whole episode on. It was something similar to what AoS did last week.
Morgan has lost everything he could have (apart from his own life), so the code he now goes by makes sense. It wouldnt work for Rick though who still has two kids and will do everything to protect them.

Eastman's character was good. His death (bite) was the lamest thing. Whilst obvious it would happen, the way it did was lame. But that aside, I liked his story as well and how it sorta paralleled Morgan which eventually was a nice reveal.

I can understand peoples frustrations given what happened last week to Glenn, but I understand why they put this episode here (as its a break from that but not really furthering the timeline). If that makes sense.
Agreed. It didn't have the breakneck pace of the last couple of eps but was enjoyable character all the same.
Felt bad for Tabitha too and the bite was lame- tbh I doubt anyone could've got good purchase with their teeth on Eastman's flabby side like that.

Jesus if any tv show made me as angry as this makes some of you lot, I'd probably watch something else!

I enjoyed it. Eastman was a cleverly designed character and it's no harm to cover the psychological impact of the world they're living in. Not everyone could just flick a switch and become a stone hearted killing machine without empathy or doubt.

I was also delighted to see the goat get it with her bloody incessant bleating and weird fecking eyes.

His death as others have said was infuriating. We all knew he was going to die, but for him to turn his back on the f-ing walker...give me a break, surely they could have done that better!

He had his stupid staff in his hand, so instead of shoving it into the face of the walker, he runs over and shoves Morgan while facing the wrong way.

It's not a big deal obviously...still

Yep, that annoyed me. Hugely lazy writing, this is a guy who's lived on his own for what sounded like ages and he just turned his back on one of them when he is a "trained" ninja and could or probably killed him from behind Morgan....they could of had him die trying to save the goat or something.

Jesus if any tv show made me as angry as this makes some of you lot, I'd probably watch something else!

In fairness people get in to TV shows and lot watch with the hope it will either improve or they just want to know how it ends. Whilst a lot of people criticise the show it seems most enjoy it for what it is. It's not The Sopranos, The Wire or even something like Lost but it is easy enjoyable watching.

I actually really liked the episode. I can see why people didn't but I said a few pages back I want some kind of back story to characters as they would inevitably slow down the pace of the first few episodes. This was actually an interesting one rather than just the tedious walking episodes of Season 4. It gave an insight in to Morgan and sets up nicely the future episodes with the W guy held hostage.

The worst part about the show for me is that we knew nothing of any of the characters except what we've seen. At least now with Morgan we've seen why he became what he has. I hope they do it with a few more characters if they're going to have some filler episodes.

Think i'm in the minority here but i actually enjoyed that episode and found it interesting. Was a lot better than the other filler episodes they have done in the past.

I thought it was a great episode. After I heard (on this forum) that the episode was going to be dedicated to Morgan I feared the worst. I've never understood the love for Morgan and thought it was just a poor excuse to drag out the is he/isn't he saga with Glenn. But, to its credit, after ten minutes and some time with the excellent Eastman I completely forgot about the rest of the TWD cast/characters. Agreed with everybody else though that Eastman's death was appallingly bad. I genuinely don't know how something like that even happens on a show with so many writers and producers ... I can only think that it was intentionally clumsy as an indication that no matter how good you are or how experienced in this environment, you can still get caught out. But maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

I'm not one to get angry at stupid things that happen in this show, because there are so many of them. It's pretty entertaining though and this season has been very good by the show's standard so far. However, I won't be happy if Glenn has managed to escape. It's just far too implausible

This could be the show's jump the shark moment.

I see why he kept saying "Kill me". Total empathy with him watching the boring version of Karate Kid for an hour.

Seemed very long but I enjoyed it. Bit retarded that a man who kills walkers with a stick without them getting near him, drops his stick and turns his back on a walker to die though..

The show would get pretty boring pretty quickly if it were just episode after episode of Walker-killing

Need episodes like this to bond with characters and change the pace

I'm one of the few actual fans of the show on here, so no surprise I love the one of episodes too. I thought tonight's was superb
I love the show too. This season has been fantastic and this last episode was great.

Despite my love for the show there are some aspects that are a little annoying. As someone else has mentioned, it points to lazy writing by the creators, but it doesn't detract from the overall show for me. Looking forward to the next episode.

Nothing of episode,i swear they dont know how to explain Glenn surviving so they silently trying exclude him from future episodes, hoping that people might forget about him completely.

At least Rick finally tapped that. It's been at least three days since her husband died.

Probably the most uneventful episode of TWD ever. Doesn't even deserved to be called shit. Nothing happened, absolutely nothing.

The only semi-memorable thing was zombies covered in shit, which was quite gross.

so the blood at the end....where is it coming from and who does it belong to?
Edit: added spoiler tags. Apologies if I violated the spoiler policy. :nervous::wenger:
Maybe Deanna's son who was eating crisps up on the wall the last time we saw him?? His drunken boorish behaviour in this episode seems like the perfect prelude to him being killed....

yeah, I was thinking Spencer too...but then thought, maybe that's a bit too obvious. lol - but you're probably right.

was the blood dripping down or was it seeping through the wall? I thought maybe a zombie had been squished up against the wall by all the others, though dripping blood makes more sense.

Or are they going to nick the idea from World War Z when the zombies crush up against the fence to make a ramp for the rear ranks to walk up

I thought maybe blood seeping through initially - maybe a vulnerability/weakness? But then it might be that drunk idiot Spencer...

The problem with TWD is that there's no fear factor. It's just predictable and routine. You don't watch these type of Zombie/horror shows because of the screen writing or acting, because they're largely terrible at it. You watch these types of shows because of the fast paced frenetic action and fear. "Will Rick die?" "What about his little cowboy shithead son?" "Is Glenn dead?".

The answer is always no. Unless you're a minor black character.

I'm never spooked when a zombie springs to life out of nowhere and grabs a character by the throat. Because we know they will survive. And that's what makes the show boring. Maggie just got jumped in the sewer? Ok, cool.

I watch the show each week in the hope that something will happen, but by and large it doesn't.

I'm really digging ricks new girl to say she doesn't wear any makeup she looks mighty fine still, naturally pretty.

Edit* after a quick google search she's looks even better with the different hair.

To be fair there have been a lot of 'main' characters that have been killed off in the show... Apart from this last episode I think this season has been brilliant so far.

Looked like dripping blood to me but it was dark and not in the frame for that long so who knows. The World War Z scenario would be interesting. Not sure if these slow moving zombies can match up to the frenetic pace of the WWZ ones. Another possibility, the Wolves have returned and somehow killed Spencer.

Maybe Rick is going to teach that kid who to protect himself / shoot a gun and he will use it on Carl. Maybe.

TBF, that was an episode I was expecting. The "slow" aftermath of something big happening (last weeks doesnt count). Wouldnt be surprised if now next week we see what Daryl, Michonne, etc were doing.

Then the week after its revealed whether Glenn is (or isnt) alive.

It was kinda bizarre what happened though that episode. The ending of two episodes made it seem Rick was stuck and surrounded. But this episode hes just... running. So was it a fake ending / danger or did they just not bother showing how he escaped?

Hmm yeah.

I missed the episode, is it worth watching it or could I just watch next weeks episode without any trouble?

Yep that's what was in the previews.

That was a little odd. I expected to see him surrounded and having to fight his way out of the horde. For whatever reason the writers 'got lazy' again or the those scenes were edited out.

Weakest episode of the season so far. Plodding, soapy and bereft of tension. I imagine the next few will be more filler than killer too in advance of an awesome mid season climax.

Still, that's the nature of twd. Some episodes rank up there as some of my favourite TV of all time, and others are just absolute shite. Like Daryl crawling up a hill for 45 mins in season two, or Daryl (again) spending an episode looking for a drink with Beth, cod philosophising for a bit, and then giving a burning building the finger(?!) in season 4.

Personally I only liked Season 1, and to a much lesser degree Season 2.I thought they would go down the road where they would tell us the reason for the Zombiefication of people, but they never did and still havent

I really think its a very average show, no idea how it gets such high ratings and how people fawn over it

One of the worst episodes of the show. Right up there with the Daryl/Beth episode. Glad they didn't kill Maggie

Back to it's usually format I see, 4/5 episodes in and it reverts to type, just churning out the filler episodes before it builds up to the mid-season finale. The group is made to look like its narrowed down after the last attack so you've got extras talking pointless lines now, they'll be all killed off before its Rick & co reunited again.

I can't believe were in Season 6 and people are still giving rallying speeches for those that haven't come to terms with killing a walker yet. When Ricks piece was stood on the porch "This is what life looks like now!, we do what we do! we have to fight! we have to survive! if we don't we die!" Rick giving kids gun practice.. ffs.

I've been pretty positive about this season so far but this was one truly boring episode. Perhaps not awful and logic defying like that one with Andrea being chased by the Governor (the worst episode ever by miles), but still very, very poor. I can take a slow episode but this one just didn't have any meaningfull development and it was full of awkward scenes and dialogue that doesn't work. The lesbian chicks wtf? Or Carl's bitch fight with whatshisname. Too many of those scenes just feel so random, the show is full of throwaway plot lines that go nowhere and don't manage to catch anyone's interest. Episodes like this is the show at its weakest, they never learn.
