Television The Walking Dead

You knew that borderline extra/note guy was a goner.

Man that episode was so intense, so god damn intense. I should not have watched that after a joint.

^Not kidding - I thought it was common knowledge, it's been everywhere and the person in question gave a lengthy interview confirming it a couple of weeks ago.

That is future information and should result in an infraction. Given that the info didn't actually give any speculation or information about plot developments we won't this time but please be careful.

And can people be really careful about speculating about future events. If it hasn't happened and you want to speculate please do it in well labeled spoiler tags. If it is based on anything book/comic/interview related then just don't post it at all. Ever.

Glenn getting out wouldn't be that much of a stretch. The show has already established that if you're covered in blood and guts then the walkers can't smell you, and if he just lies there they will just walk away. Doubt it will happen, but the show's mythology has a ready-made "out".

The theories suggesting he's alive are either using your example (covered in blood) or the idea that Nicholas is on top hiding Glenn.

Both are equally ridiculous. His entire body would need to be covered in blood, and yet his entire head is exposed and it's highly unlikely that any of his lower body is covered in blood.

If Nicholas is on top of Glenn then how exactly could that save him? They'll eat through Nicholas and when there's none of him left they'll eat through Glenn. Plus, no chance that they landed so perfectly that every limb is completely lined up.

I'm sure the last shot of Glenn showed a zombie hovering right over his face anyway so surely they know he's there. Absolutely ridiculous if he's still alive.

Something that makes me think he's alive is that none of the other characters saw him being eaten and die. They'll never know for sure - just that he'd never returned and is probably gone. It's an unlikely way to finish a character like that.

But it will be ridiculous if he gets out of there alive. Plus I found him kind of boring in the last couple of seasons.

100% still alive. There's no doubt in my mind. They wouldn't film it like that else.

Sure it'll be ridiculous. But they still might do it. I don't care too much either way.

is the next episode really going to be only about Morgan? Please no

Really liking the way this season has started i thought the series was going stale after that last 2 seasons, good to see things pick up again.

I thought about the lack of closure as well, but that's not necessarily a problem, they can just have the group see him as a walker. I can already see it happening, dramatic music and Maggie, in tears, saying how it should be her who ends him. It's either that or he's still alive.

That's what annoys me about the show. It seems they introduce characters like that so much just to kill them off in the same episode! Even more annoying is they give them more of a back story than most the main characters.

Anyway the episode itself was enjoyable enough I thought, it is a bit of a ridiculous cop out if Glenn is alive (not to mention he's a shit character now anyway.) It would be nice if they did kill off 1 of the main cast to add to that shock factor. They've not done it in ages it seems, basically shows they're all untouchable!

Well, it would be better than...

Glenn just walking out of there without a scratch on. Though with so many walkers I'd assume he'd be more likely to be eaten whole. It only took one to eat Lori.

There's a photo going around of the cast on set and Glenn is in the picture with another character that is yet to appear. So unless he was just there filming a flashback or something I assume he doesn't die.

Sick of all these cry babies (in general, not on here) refusing that he's dead. It was the same with GoT the other month. Waaa waaa waaa 'they can't kill him!'

GET OVER IT. It's a friggin TV show, and I for one like a good major death to keep things interesting and realistic.

If he's still alive though, that'd be pathetic. I will have lost all respect for this show. The shot when Glenn lands shows both his head and upper chest completely exposed, and it appears that the other dude doesn't even land on top of him to me. And even if he did, that many zombies would eat him and discover Glenn underneath either way.

I mean, you're basically saying the exact thing all the 'cry babies' did.

Except they want him to get out alive and are coming out with all these theories, whereas I'm arguing against it.

To be fair, he's talking about "cry babies (in general, not on here)". Here, most people would be just fine with the death and probably a little less with survival!

It's pretty clear bait and switch, I watched the whole sequence again. They are both wearing similar coloured t-shirts underneath an over shirt.

Glenn has his buttoned up the whole time, until they get on top of the dumpster, when it's now open, in the middle of fighting for his life and scaling a dumpster, Glenn took the time to unbutton his shirt.

It's a production error or they are trying to make it easier to mistake the two torsos.

If he's dead, he's dead I'm not fussed either way but it seems strange that they didn't make a bigger deal of it, You'd think Glenn would warrant a bigger send of than that, it'd be a episode closer.

I don't think anyone really "wants" him to be alive. I like the character but I think after THAT scene it'd be stupid to bring him back.

But yeah, he's coming back. No doubt at all.

He's definitely not dead (speculation). Just had a think, and here's a list of deaths bigger than Glen's, who, with Rick and Morgan was the only character still from episode 1:

Tyrese - a whole episode on him!
Myrll
Noah (A minor character!)
Beth (A whole season on her!!!!)
Hershal
Govna'
TDog version 1,2,3
Bob
Then everyone from the original cast (Shane, Sophia, Lori, Andrea, Dale)

If he is dead I would actually be disappointed, even though it's silly him surviving from that!

It's walker blood and guts that stops them from attacking you, they eat normal peoples blood and guts so I doubt being covered in it will be doing you any favors.

the show constantly takes bullshit liberties with all of that though, there's always been loads of plotholes when it comes to the zombies and blood and guts and all that. I mean how the feck can their faces get squashed by walking into a fecking barricade yet they can easily rip people's stomachs apart?

Ah yeah that makes sense. I think. Which is a miracle for this show.

Exactly. Glenn is essentially a fresh steak covered in delicious Nicholas sauce. I stand by my point that if he survives, it WILL be the worst thing to have ever happened in TV.

I hope to god the photos of him still on set are flashbacks.

Speculation to argue he IS dead:

His last words to Rick - “Good luck, dumbass.”

His first words to Rick in the first ever episode - "Hey you, dumbass. Yeah, you in the tank. Cozy in there?"

Only figured this out because I re-read wiki randomly of episode 1 and saw this, remembering it was really random he called Rick a dumbass in this recent episode.

Great pick-up. I thought it was a strange thing for him to say, it seemed out of place.

Surely Glenn can't get lucky twice, he had a close call last time he was with Nicholas.
The scene after his death they played some dramatic music, so does seem like he's dead this time.
Surely they'd play dramatic music either way, to give the impression he's dead. It would have seemed odd without.

But Nicholas essentially hasn't yet become a walker so the blood on Glenn would be fresh which implies that he can not get away without being attacked which means that he is dead anyway?

It'll be bad, but worst thing that ever happened to TV ?

that's a bit of a stretch, we had 84 seasons of 2 and a half men.

He certainly doesn't have any right to escape from that situation, but you never know with this show. I hope he's gone in any case. Not that I particularly disliked him, but it would shake up the feeling that the main group was becoming invulnerable. More deaths I say.

I'm pretty sure that it has to be blood and guts from the walkers, not someone who has just been ripped apart.

As much as I love Glen, him dying would be a good thing.
Losing a key figure in Rick's group would show the people in Alexandria just how dangerous it is and that Rick isn't crazy for no reason.

But at the same time I hope he doesn't die, only if his escape isn't contrived.

He needs to come back in a future episode. But as a walker. Its the only way they should use him again.

I'm starting to think we should add NO TALKING DEAD in the title because it seems too hard to grasp for some people. That's a blatant future spoiler or at least strong speculation based on information available outside of already aired episodes, which isn't allowed in this thread in any form or shape.
