The UEFA Euro Fantasy Draft

He's finally going. about damn time too

So, you are still mad at me after all this time?

Not at all! I think I am alone with that point of view, I've seen voters count it against managers if they admit weaknesses or defeat. Just not my cup of tea to try and exaggerate, if I think I will win I will say it and how I see it happening and if I think the opponent will win or will be superior somewhere I happily state it too.

Sometimes you end up facing better teams like against Harms there, no shame in going out while still getting to tell plenty of stories of your picks and so forth.

I can see the charm in trying to win the impossible matches as well, you had a great performance with that in mind - the best I've seen to this stage probably. I think I can remember an Antohan performance from way back that was in a similar mould and quality too.

I get what you are saying. I found it especially difficult in the British/Irish draft on gauging how a halfback in a 2-3-5 for a fullback in a 3-2-5 formation will perform in more modern set up's.

THe other part is the 'innovation'. Certain teams and players are legendary because what they did was revolutionary at that point of time. But now, how effective will they be when the new set-up's take away most of their tactical advantage. Very difficult to get impact based on talent alone, imo.

And the third one goes. Was to be existed. There are a couple more CBs that I think will fall in due course.

What about Baresi's euro performances, though, what are the highlights? 88?

Sammer, feck he was my second pick of choice :( Now Bozsik..

My second pick is another player who excelled at Euro 1980. Even though hosts Italy finished a disappointing fourth, their defence was the best of the tournament conceding only one goal in four games. And that defence was marshalled by the great Gaetano Scirea.

Feck you! And you probably can count on my votes, since you're just picking my favorites. I have a huge man-crush on Scirea after watching tons of footage for manager's draft. Fantastic pick. And, again, go to hell!

Yeah, great pick. I had a faint hope Bozsik would make it back to me, but it was fairly obvious he'd get picked up.

That is a monstrous midfield you are building @Theon @NM . Probably going to lose one of my favourites to Aldo as well. Bah.
