I'd love it if journalists would do their jobs and confront Trump with the fact that the US already has access to Greenland when it comes to national security. The Pituffik Space Base comes to mind. And if they need more, I'm sure that can be negotiated.
Also, the idea of statehood for Greenland is absolutely hilarious. In terms of population, Greenland is about 10% of the least populous current state, and I'm pretty sure that they lean left by Danish standards. Imagine suddenly having two socialist Inuits in the senate representing about 50,000 people. Trump probably doesn't even think about the implications between Greenland being a state or a territory. He's so fecking dumb.
