Silly question, but how do they know how much people were getting in tips anyway?1. if the no-tax-on-tips thing becomes real, is there a way for everyone to be paid in tips?
2. do non-citizens have 2nd amendment rights?
Can someone explain why Musk is so involved in this? What's he gaining?
Trump has got his second term. He won’t be interested in enacting anything he promised to get into power. He’s transactional and his need for people to vote for him has ceased.2 of his biggest election mandates was to take action on immigration and stop sending money to Ukraine, so I think we will see concrete actions on those issues. Gaza will be more of the same I feel. The rest are up in the air.

Unless it's all via card payments these days, rather than just cash in hand?
in most US states, the "tipped minimum wage" is something like 2-4$/hr, while state minimum wages are usually around $10. the difference between the two is supposed to be legally filled with tips (and with the owner's cash, if tips don't cover it). so i'm guessing they have to keep track, pool them, etc.
when i delivered pizza they just asked you at the end of your shift and made up the difference if you were short.
probably before online/card tipping became widespread, right?
Something to do with his "ex-" son and "woke virus"(his words). I don't want to go into detail but keyword is "trans"Can someone explain why Musk is so involved in this? What's he gaining?
He is the My Pillow Guy for his 2nd term.attention
If they were elected they would have to resign to become a cabinet memberThanks, that makes it interesting.
Anyone but they gotta be confirmed by the senate. I genuinely doubt Trump can make a majority of the senate confirm RFK on an important portfolio. He’d probably have to settle for something insignificant.Do Cabinet members have to be elected Governors or can they be anyone?
People can't wait.Too early! It's January 20th
that and many more billions worth in government outsourcing to spacex.attention
Let chaos reign..
Will we see some of his promises come to fruition:
Economically crippling 19th century tariffs
RFK in charge of healthcare, removing flouride from the water
A day of violence to stop all crime
Mass deportations
Ending the war in Ukraine (by giving Russia large chunks of Ukraine)
What happens in Gaza and Lebanon?
What will Musk run?
It's going to be a mad and dangerous 4 years

There won't be any, he's deporting illegal's and felons, despite the scaremongering there's very little evidence of people voting illegallyI wonder when the first reports about the deportation of people who voted for Trump will be in the news.
Economy isn’t really strictly about S&P500.Can't believe people here truly think he will tank the economy. Just look how Wall Street reacted today. There is no shot.
He will surely tank the German economy though. Mercedes, Volkswagen, BMW all -6 % today. Vassals who bet on Democrats in shambles.
Trump doesn't let stuff go, he's out for revenge, it certainly will not be boring and uneventful, in pratice though he might not be the one to worry about, the people he appoints are likely to be the ones to worry about, especially the ones that are related to Project 25Back with a vengeance and with no second period to account for this time - afraid what he might have planned.
Hopefully, it will be boring and uneventful and we will mostly be laughing at him for being a (harmless) clown. However, if he decides to go rogue and crazy, I hope it will only affect the people who actually elected him and not the rest of the world and especially Ukraine and Palestine.
No it isn't but the stock market is a very big deal to a lot of American's, it directly affects their later yearsEconomy isn’t really strictly about S&P500.
I know, it’s a short term reaction though and what happens over the next 4 years isn’t clear. I actually own it’s index so will happily cash in any profits from today but I’m not sure it will keep up with its pace of last decade in the next 4 years (though it wouldn’t have under any other administration either). No it isn't but the stock market is a very big deal to a lot of American's, it directly affects their later years
JD Vance happens, I think. What happens if he croaks between now and the inauguration?

re: economy, probably not, neither did Biden despite his claims, the tariffs might be fun, if he does start bunging more on China then a lot of his supporters are in for a shockI know, it’s a short term reaction though and what happens over the next 4 years isn’t clear. I don’t think he’s going to tank economy though because he’s very unlikely to follow through on too many of his promises (and he didn’t even commit to that much in the first place this time, it was all very vague).
Trump's brain is so cooked that this is basically the Vance presidency isn't it?
But why?Tesla stock went up by over 14%
