The Trump Presidency - Part 2

I don't think it's much of a surprise that the voters who put him there are happy with him. Their use of influencers and social media will probably see polls remain high no matter what he does.

But they aren't is what I'm saying. He is underwater among the same voters in his handling of the economy.

My mom raised me to be an anarchist, and I adopted her feminism, egalitarianism and civil rights consciousness.

She’s gotten lost in the conspiracy world.

In the conspiracy world during Bush II, when I checked it out, the bad guys were definitely the republicans.

But the group in power are always the main conspirators in those articles, and so when Obama served for 8 years conspiracy world decided that it was the democrats controlling the Deep State and doing all the things.

Add that to the fact that she hates the democratic party for their weakness, and placating of republicans and dropping practically every actual liberal policy.

1+1=3, so now she supports Trump.

Not to mention much of this conspiracy media comes from the Kremlin, and so will be pro-Trump. And Trump is an outsider, so he can’t be the Deep State.

Her BS radar is pathetic.
That’s actually really upsetting.

What an actual fecking joke. Tate is a rapist and sex trafficker. A man of honour he absolutely is not.

I can see why an anarchist might likr Trump. He is anti-establishment candidate and he's actually bringing anarchy to world order and world politics.
That's not Anarchism, that's chaos (promoting instability). They are two words that the media have welded together and blurred into one over a hundred plus years, and they are not even similar.

Stock exchange tanking and some serious economists already forecasting that the US will fall into recession. But hey, MAGA gets plastic straws and the Gulf of Muricah…so much winning.

The answer to "What does Putin have over Trump" was pretty good, I thought.
I didn't think so. He's missing some key facts.

"He gave Ukraine Javelins" - He gave them with restrictions that they couldn't actually be used in the ongoing war and had to be kept stored in western Ukraine. Biden's administration thankfully removed those restrictions in 2021, thus they were ready to be used to resist the full scale invasion. Also, Obama provided more military aid to Ukraine in his 2 year tenure after Crimea was invaded, than Trump did in his 4. Trump used aid as a means to trap the Ukrainian president in a corruption scandal, a typically Russian MO.

"He increased sanctions" - Kicking and screaming maybe, removing Russian sanctions was his priority at the beginning of his first term. He just hadn't replaced the state department with loyalists/cultists at that time. That's what's different this time around.

The Javelin bullshit story is a great example of how GOP/MAGA has complete control over the narrative, as literally nobody seems to knows that fundamental detail.

Also, he is seriously using just those two points? What about the thousand or so reasons (growing every day) to suggest Putin does have something over Trump? If that's 'sober analysis' then the US is fubar (we know this already).

Maybe he redeems himself, but I couldn't watch past there. Well, apart from "Trump wants to end wars"... Jesus Christ Bremmer, this guy will NEED a war at some point, read a damn history book.

Oh, then he says he wants Brexit / MAGA type populist parties to win in Europe to legitimise his own popularity, oblivious to the fact that these are fundamentally Russian goals. I'm done, guy is a fruitloop.

Any chance we'll at least see some sections of the media report this as "import taxes on Americans", instead of the far too difficult to understand "tariffs on Canada/Mexico"?
Some will

Surely it was all preplanned. They shamed Zelenskyy publicly. Potraying as if he was the one who made a blunder or disrespected american. He was cut off mid sentence multiple times (on top of him speaking with his accent) made it very easy for Trump and Vance to control the narrative. Just be loud and accusatory

The economy is “seen” and “felt” by Americans more than the war in Ukraine. That’s reflected in the disapproval numbers. In my view, that’s normal.

But to be at +2 only on an issue means, basically, 50-50. The meeting with Zelenskyy happened on the last day of February, and we don’t know yet how it will influence his approval rating. If no solution is found in the next few weeks, this could become another area where he’s under water.

I’m not impressed at all by this number.

Where are Trump Jr, Ivanka and Jared? If I recall correctly, last term these people were front and center of news cycle.
This time around, has trump managed to keep them away from spotlight while they do their thing?

Didn't it historically mean chaos first, and then it was embraced by the political anarchists and got to have its political meaning?

Either way, I get how chaos anarchists like Trump; so does John Lydon for example. But you have to be an anarcho-capitalist (the worst kind of political anarchist) to like him in that sense.

It's Greek I think. An meaning without, Archos meaning ruler. I suppose that could mean a lack of social order.

Evil Zenelskyy, why does this guy doesnt want peace??

Its incredible really, they're stopping military aid to Ukraine as if Ukraine is the agressor and not vice versa.

Journalism may be dead for the most part, but there are a few survivors still battling it out. Ignore the clickbait, this is just a good segment.

Every fecking interview these people give is to Fox News who has feck all probing questions. It’s just pathetic.
Is there any other Western democracy, where a large share of the population and media has such reverence for its elected leaders? It’s bizarre.

They didn't accept the offer of giving everyone else what they wanted with nothing in return, obviously they're the villains!

It’s actually becoming a very common view in Poland that the deal hasn’t come through because of Zelensky. Was just in argument with a friend, who isn’t really a Trump fanatic or anything and even dislikes him, who thinks Zelensky is at fault for how Friday meeting went.

The so called people who need any excuse will grab onto anything. His not wearing a suit or what he said. When you ask them why Putin isn’t being criticised, they will then also come up with any excuse. It’s a pathetic state of affairs.

But that's Poland. No offence but you guys are the biggest fans of the US in Europe.
