The Trump Presidency - Part 2

A random woman that gives little importance to politics and votes republican because it's sort of a family tradition or everyone is a republican where she lives or she got some social pressure or misinformation, whatever. She might find herself denied healthcare and suffer serious harm or die.

This is just example of many possible. Feeling happy these people will suffer is something I'm glad I don't understand.

If this random woman's sort of family tradition actively causes harm to millions of people, then it's not the worst thing in the world for her to share some of it.

And if one person in this family suffering from the consequences of their own actions enlightens all of them to what they're doing, that could sometimes be a net positive.

I won't be dancing with joy if such a thing happened, but I wouldn't judge anyone experiencing schadenfreude either.

Yeah, the evangelical clown who doesn't think Palestinians exist will bring peace

It’s an interesting point he makes and worth some critical thought rather than making the obvious jokes.

Either Exxon feel they are well placed to thrive against their competitors within the parameters of current climate goals.

Or maybe he genuinely things that consistent policy over a long period would be better for their shareholders. It must be difficult to make long term strategic decisions when the flip flopping of governments mean they have to tear up those plans every 4-8 years to stay competitive against rivals when the goalposts move.

Or they view fossil fuels as a finite resource and having restrictions in place keeps the price up and means they eventually get more money for their resource - opening the taps and flooding the market with cheap gas and oil isn’t really in their interest.

You're too slow bro. Look at the Israel thread. Though i didn't have pretty picture with it. And that's what the average voter today needs.

I suppose it’s applicable to both threads.

Huckabee is a well know Christian fanatic - someone who sees Israel as needed to facilitate the end of days.

Yeah I really am curious how some people will spin this as a positive thing for the Palestinians or the Middle East in general - but who knows. With Trump/Kushner and their billions of dollars worth of money bigger funneled between them and the Saudis, Huckabee may ironically find himself in a pickle.

I think this will be a green light for Netanyahu to takeover any parts of Gaza and the West Bank. The big deal in the first Trump administration was moving the embassy to Jerusalem and the Abraham Accords. In the next one it will be redrawing the map by expanding Israeli territory into what is now Gaza and the Weat Bank; something that would’ve been implausible in a Harris administration.

Yeah ironically stopping the violence will likely be reached by simply allowing for the land grab to happen and pushing any remaining Palestinians out. Not unlike the strategy will probably be with Russia and the Ukraine. You can easily claim you stopped something if you just simply give one side all it desires.

it literally has been happening for the past month under the biden/harris administration

Directly from the Project 2025 document:
"Bureaucrats at the Department of Education inject racist, anti-American, ahistorical propaganda into America’s classrooms;"
How is it “racist”? And also what these ghouls want to teach IS “ahistorical propaganda”. They want to brainwash children that the USA is the greatest nation in the world.

Yep.

The usual suspects with their 'told you so's about Trump doing exactly what he said he was going to do, while ignoring the fact Biden was essentially facilitating the same thing.

What they don't realise is the Palestinians are fecked either way. Just telling that these same people were muted when it was Biden overseeing it.

At least this time we don't have to pretend the US is a benevolent mediator in all this, and the world can see them for what they are in this conflict - a major sponsor and enabler of a genocide and colonial land grab. Only difference is now they can stop pretending otherwise.

I'm happy I can't relate to that mindset.
That's because every issue is black and white to you, anyone voting in the US election would have had to have been living under a rock for the last few years to not know the potential consequences of voting for Trump

If there are Palestinians in Gaza or the West Bank then what I described hasn’t happened.

it has been happening in the west bank for decades, and has been happening in gaza for months, it will continue to happen, and this election hasn't changed that reality. will they all be wiped out? maybe. if not, will they be stateless non-people? yes, for sure, with bipartisan support.

That’s what I’m talking about, except they likely wouldn’t be stateless because they would go to one or more regional countries. It’s not definite but now very possible.

Ratcliffe for CIA. At least it wasn’t Cash Patel.
Nope but instead we get a guy who shouldn't have even been made DNI. The man shouldn't be anywhere near matters of security. Id be surprised if he lasts long. Same thing with Noem btw. Especially the latter will probably be spat out by the staff there before long.

Or an attempt at reverse psychology.

All of this feels very familiar compared to the first time around. Yet worse with even less appropriate experience and higher on the sycophant scale.
It’s only 6.5 days since he won.

Wait until it’s 14 days… then months.
