Given that Mitch Mconnell seems to prize republican control of the senate above all else (and thus his position as speaker) and that it looks like the both the Georgia elections will return democrats might he now switch ti supporting trumps bat shit crazy voter fraud theories? ... or is that too much even for him?

It looks like Trump has managed to completely scupper his own party by default. If he'd conceded to Biden back in November and spent the time campaigning enthusiastically in Georgia, results would probably have been different today.

That would require him caring about anything other than himself.

It's scary what is going on in Washington DC now. How can anyone believe the USA is a fully democratic country now?

Again with calls to be nice against someone who's trying an unconstitutional power grab. If they don't prosecute people who are trying to stage a nationwide coup, then what's to stop them from trying again? How are they going to ever get power to make meaningful changes if they're just idly going to sit by while the GOP tears down their democracy?

The way he throws Mike Pence, his loyal servant under the bus. I almost feel sympathy for Pence. Not really because he could have seen it coming but almost.

Watching this unfold is like having a lovely pêche melba after you’ve been forced to eat horseshit for four years.
