Let's face it - he was pushed by the British Government to resign. It's the classic tactic; say publicly that you back them but behind closed doors tell them that they need to hand in their resignation.
 
Regardless of if someone pressured him or not, the leak basically neuters his ability to do his job effectively while Trump is president. He had to resign or the UK government had to transfer him elsewhere.

Precisely, but I’m still annoyed.

In a way I’m also pleased that those emails were revealed. Trump will be fuming, which is good for his stress levels, and people needed to hear the truth. So many just block it out. Trump’s behaviour has just been reluctantly accepted for so long yet it shouldn’t have been, nor should it ever be viewed as the “norm” for any government.
 
Not sure this has been posted yet on here or the Epstein thread. Posting here as this isn't Trump being 'linked with' the Epstein case, these are pretty horrific allegations directly against Trump. Lawsuit was withdrawn before Trumps election campaign allegedly because of death threats received by the girl.

Why would the term limit rule be the one rule Trump accepts? It would be entirely out of character to do so...

Tbf, most people haven’t. It’s on another level seeing as he’s supposed to be Presidential.
If it was just plain old Trump no one would care.
