That twitter article is pretty interesting and quite surreal that the President is so off the cuff - I wonder what national security thinks of it all.
I remember reading maybe a year ago that Obama's tweets would go through different departments for approval before being sent out - this included simple 'looking forward to meeting and working with .........." messages.

Is it just me or does the American right run entirely on anger? Say what you like about left wing groups like BLM or feminism but they have a clear(-ish) goal and vision for society. Right wing parties in Europe at least have some degree of optimism. Republicans just seem to oppose whatever the Democrats are doing and get angry all the time.
Ultimately both sides are after power. The left are seeking to change the power structure of society and the right are seeking to preserve it.
This is a really sad article to read on issues in places like Aberdeen county in the state of Washington. Talks about people's personal stories about the drugs, despair and hopelessness in their area and how they believed in Trump to help them out.
The county ended up voting Republican last year for the first time in 90 years.

So the news here this morning is saying that the far-right demonstration in Boston (in the dozens) was met with 40,000 anti-racism protestors. 27 arrests, nothing major. Sounds like a roaring success.
