The Transfer Deadline Day Thread / Most crazy ever?

Someone like Benteke would be perfect for you Alastair, if he had kept his transfer request in sure Wenger would have gone in for him

So AVB attempted to rejuvenate the team presumably with encouragement from Abramovich and was castigated for it; Mourinho could very well be about to sell their best player of the last two years and will be the Godfather.

So two of the best players in the league could be gone by the time the window closes (Bale already gone and Mata a possibility).

FFS, madness.

Suarez, Ozil, Mata, di Maria - all quality attackers who might be available still, after the likes of Rodrigues, Jovetic, Falcao, Cavani, Neymar, Bale, Higuain, Negredo, Willian, Lamela, Kaka (not sure he belongs on this list!), Tevez, Gotze, Thiago, Moutinho (these 2 are more CM than attacker) have all moved.

Has there been a crazier transfer season?

I'm enjoying seeing all the UK ads. The Skoda Octavia looks and sounds fecking minging.

Hate that cheap plastic 1980s grille on the front.

BBC Sport's Saj Chowdhury: "I just bumped into former Manchester United and England midfielder Owen Hargreaves in Manchester. I asked him whether he had been following the latest developments on transfer deadline day, to which he responded, "not a chance".
"I then informed the former Bayern Munich player that Arsenal had agreed a £42.4m deal with Real Madrid for Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil. His response to that? "Really? They don't even need him."

Tit

Isn't he suppose to be a pundit and suppose to be clued up on what's going on?

Redknapp just said because Arsenal bought Ozil for 40m that theoretically Madrid only paid 40m for Bale.

I've seen Redknapp for 2 minutes now and already he knows nothing.

"Bale has been terrorising Premier league for quite a few years now", well no, he hasn't.

"Buying Bale for £80 million and selling Ozil foe £40 million is a good bit of business". Yeah getting rid of your most creative and top assist player is fantastic to bring in someone who scored half the amount of goals in one season to Ronaldo at his age.

Shut Jamie, just shut the feck up

To be fair, getting Bale for £80M and selling Özil for £40M isn't all that bad. In effect, they paid Özil (a bench warmer) and £40M for one of the world's top talents. In my opinion, Isco is superior to Özil too, which is why £40M is nice for them.

Ozil has been pretty much their second best player after Ronaldo these last few years. No way is he a bench warmer. He's a better player then Bale so no, it's not a good deal for madrid in any way. They're paying 85 mil and losing one of the best attacking players in the world for 40.

He will be a bench warmer, Isco is tearing it up already. I don't know where you're from but £40M is a lot of fecking money. What's more, I didn't say it's a good piece of business, I just said it's not all that bad. I for one believe Bale will prove useful for Madrid with his direct play.

I agree 40 mil is a lot but overall they would have been better off keeping Ozil and not going for Bale. IMO they're making they're team weaker by selling Ozil and replacing him with Bale, even if you ignore the money because that obviously means nothing for Madrid.

If you are judging Isco on his performances for Malaga as a comparison of being superior to Ozil, then that is an interesting view, as Ozil has arguably been one of the best AMs in La Liga the past 3 seasons whereas Isco hasn't. If you have judged it over this season for Madrid, that is hardly fair as it has been barely 3 games for Real Madrid, and Ancelotti has chosen Isco more. Doesn't mean he would have been constantly picked over him, but Ozil wanted to move as he saw his game time would have been restricted more than usual just before 2014 WC

I'd throw United £20m for Hernandez and see if it sticks, personally.
Our Hernandez? Would be a complete waste of time, doesn't want to leave, we don't want to sell not least to any potential title rival and it'd only anger the fans.

Good god david may is dull

edit: feck you grinner I thought of it first
