The Transfer Deadline Day Thread / Most crazy ever?

The United way is to frustrate the crap out of their supporters and 9 times out of 10 leave them bitterly disappointed.

We're talking Manchester United here? The most successful club in the country in it's most successful era ever? Disappointed? Lordy.

Ballague just said on SSN that Giggs rang up Bale last night to see if he'd consider coming to Manchester United. Why does he says these things?

That was a bit dumb of Giggs, considering he had already signed during the day.

Hilarious seeing all the other clubs scrambling and panicking like this, happy by our dignified stance. It seems we chose the sensible road, the United way.

After a season under his belt with this group of players, Moyes will have a better idea who to buy.

Maybe. If that was the plan, then he should've said that at the start and every supporter would well and truly be behind him.

But then you go and say that we're short in midfield.
Then put in some ridiculous bids for Fabregas.
And then for Fellaini and Baines.

Just makes the supporters frustrated and gets them thinking that we're inept and clueless, and not because we're following a plan, and I'm sure it doesn't fill the players with confidence either 'cause he's said the squad needs a few in.

Honest here. If we don't sign anyone, would people actually be worried we won't finish in the top 4?

Well I don't know. I'm not too worried about the top four, but I'm not really confident of retaining the title either. All other teams in the top four have spent some. That is no guarantee of success though, and it remains to be seen if they gel. And it remains to be seen how much Moyes manages to get out of our current bunch.

Big frustration- a nightmarish summer. If we ain't gonna spend the money, promote Januzaj and give him Powell and Zaha a chance, the same as what we should have done with Pogba. We should be moving on Macheda, Bebe, Buttner and a few others too.

I thought Powell has gone out on loan.

Apart from Aston Villa, Liverpool must have one of the youngest squads in the league now, right? Moses could be a very good signing, but should include a option to buy.

Talksport have just spoken to thri Manchester correspondent, not even a whisper on the United grapevine at present.

Is it possible that the delay in signing a midfielder is that we are still hoping to sign Fabregas?

Which clubs are these? Chelsea, Spurs and City all did their business a while ago and have strengthened significantly. Arsenal and Spurs have closed the gap on us and city and Chelsea are on par if not arguably in better shape. Yet we sit with our heads buried in the sand that if we "keep this group together, we'll be fine". Despite the fact we repeatedly see that a number of players in this group are far too shit to play for our club.
I get that in the past we haven't gone as gung ho and we've still won titles but when was the last time four of our closest rivals strengthened to the extreme that they have. It stinks of arrogance, we're not going to win stuff just cos we're Man United, we need to strengthen as we did last year and the year before and the year before. We've always done our business early bar Berbatov, yet it appears here on deadline day we're scrambling around for players we've had 2 months to put time and effort into signing.
fecking shambolic.

Fellaini is the type of player we need, Ozil would've been a great creative player for us too but not a necessity.
I'd sign Ozil over fellaini every day to the week. Next summer someone better than fellaini will come along. I doubt well sign someone like Ozil anytime soon.

Can we feasibly pull off the Herrera deal with so little time left?

Fellini is possible but he's only down the road.

United would need to make arrangements for a medical to be carried out and signed off on in Spain if things drag on for too many more hours.

I would too but at this point we desperately, desperately need a CM-ideally we should've bought both.

Balague now saying Harrara deal very close.
