Well, I had to pick a player who's nowhere near all time draft worthy to facilitate picking him...
 
There are multiple scorers left too, so I guess those who got their "miss" right (if anyone did) are stuck as well. That's how I read the criterion rules anyway. You may only move to a different tournament if there are no eligible players left.

Indeed. Me too. Getting Shearer was the best possible outcome and given our spine as well. I'm sure Tuppet and EAP will be pretty happy with who they got as well.

Aye, plus one more thing: Going by what some of the teams look like thus far, we'll likely end up seeing some fairly unbalanced XIs, unorthodoxly or even awkwardly set up. This, one might be able to exploit when the time comes.

well the small pool especially when locked to it forced some of the picks.

I thought you will go with Shearer as it looked to me it will be a better match for Larsson, but good that we didn't block each other out..

I had no interest in any kind of striker, to be honest. Went for Vieri in the second round just because...well, I wasn't really arsed at that point. It was all or nothing with the initial gamble. Owen works after a fashion, though. As long as I remember to inform the voters it's Owen aged 18-20.

Yeah, it's difficult to see how Cal and Stobz will use all the players they have so far. But then, you probably rather play Reus at rightback than have a sheep at centerback and face an attack of Beckham, Ibra, Ronaldo, Zidane. So we'll see how much you can do against unorthodox and awwardly set-up sides, if you're forced to play with sheep.

Well there weren't many options apart from strikers or AM anyway. Batty/Ayala and Ince were most certainly going to get blocked. I'm surprised F.De Boer went through but the other De Boer was of no use whatsoever.

Apart from the sheep I'm pretty much happy with Shearer to get the goals, better for me than Bergkamp. There are 4 rounds tho and a lot of teams are pretty unbalanced, like not having a keeper ( :nervous: ) and or no defence or midfield. Hopefully the criteria will have that in mind next time so we can go for positions we need. Otherwise we may see Owen at right back or something :lol:

well for one, as things stand Cal can afford to bench Reus and bring in another midfielder since he doesn't have a sheep yet.
