Yeah, it's difficult to see how Cal and Stobz will use all the players they have so far. But then, you probably rather play Reus at rightback than have a sheep at centerback and face an attack of Beckham, Ibra, Ronaldo, Zidane. So we'll see how much you can do against unorthodox and awwardly set-up sides, if you're forced to play with sheep.

The latter will be key, I'd imagine. Avoid sheep and you can exploit that imbalance. If you're carrying sheep, however, you're probably fecked even against a ridiculously unrealistic and impracticable attack.

Otherwise we may see Owen at right back or something

If Ashley...er...Judd can play there...

We'll see, though. So far there haven't been any position specific criteria. Could happen, of course, but it strikes me as awfully random - as in, randomly rewarding/punishing managers for who they've drafted/not drafted so far.

well for one, as things stand Cal can afford to bench Reus and bring in another midfielder since he doesn't have a sheep yet.
I know, scary thought. He's done brilliantly so far. I used Reus at rightback as an example for unorthodoxly or even awkwardly set up though and it seemed a good fit.

Yeah .. that front 4 is pretty good.. think it is very complementary as well. If you don't bring in Egos into the equation, Ibra can play the Benzema role for CRon while both are great headers of the ball for Beckham.

@Cal? had a "shit" and unbalanced team(until the final or sf not sure) in the last draft that he played and he won that so i dont think he needs to worry about that, specially as in this draft half of the teams will be full of sheeps....

Yeah .. that front 4 is pretty good.. think it is very complementary as well. If you don't bring in Egos into the equation, Ibra can play the Benzema role for CRon while both are great headers of the ball for Beckham.
When you say both, do you mean Ibra? Because surely he's not a great header of the ball? I'd argue it's his one weakness. But yes, excellently balanced attacking four, no doubt.

You know when you write or read the same word over and over again, and it loses all meaning and looks like a jumble of letters. That's what I feel with the word 'SHEEP' here.

He's excellent at using his head when he plays as target man, heading it down to his team mates. Scoring? Not so much.

so im the only one who cant see Ibra and Ronaldo playing together? In the last draft i was bitching about Messi and Ronaldo in the same team, that pair now looks great compared to this one :nervous:

Like The Stain said, he's great at using it as a target man to setup his teammates but he is far from as good as Ronaldo inside the box in an aerial battle. Even if he's not a bad header at all but more like average for his size(he does score headers from corners and crosses often), still one of his biggest strengths is receiving crosses(high/low) and that is how he scores most of his goals.

I would expect Ibra to try to make a run where he could receive the lower option, chest/to his feet height while Ronaldo would be the one dominating actual aerial battles.

If you look at the way he enters aerial battles outside of the penalty area you see he is very good at it, definitely does his size justice, but inside the box he rarely wants to go in to a 50-50 duel like Ronaldo and beat them by having a better leap and so forth.

so im the only one who cant see Ibra and Ronaldo playing together?

Don't want to get into any sort of debate over this, as it's best left for the match stage - but short answer: No.

However, in accordance with standard draft logic players don't have egos, or even much of a psychological aspect to their game at all, beyond being "fighters" and such wherever that applies.

Bro, you couldn't give us a natural LB?:(
Attempting to find left-backs - or defenders for that matter - who missed a penalty in a World Cup shoot-out and who, despite featuring in the knockout stages, were sheep calibre - was a trifle tricky. Komano is not a bad sheep IMO.

Kilbane, eh? Happy with that. Versatile-ish, which is good - suits the Philosophy.

However, he needs to be aware that if the process works out, he shall not start.

probably would have preffered Kilbane, ahh well that is life.

Well, who wouldn't prefer the mighty K(K)?

Seriously, though, I reckon Komano's pretty good for a sheep. And he IS a left back - at least in terms of where he usually played for Japan. Probably better on the right, but nobody can claim he's out of position as an LB.

I know, I'm just bitter we didn't get Kilbane...I can't believe i said that:wenger:

ROUND 9
69-Scotland-Rex.jpg

ROUND NINE: PLAYERS WHO FAILED TO QUALIFY FOR THE WORLD CUP

Choose a player who was part of a failed World Cup qualification campaign. To make the cut for this category a player must have featured on the park during a World Cup qualifier in a campaign that was ultimately unsuccessful. Countries which 'qualified' but decided to withdraw from the competition do not count. Countries which 'qualified' but were expelled before the tournament for political reasons do not count. For any borderline cases you will be asked to provide sufficient evidence to the Sheep Committee to justify your pick.

You have 24 hours.

Glad we narrowly avoided getting a 4th! *whew*

Can we exchange this for a DM? We already have a AM sheep and would not want a FW too.
There was a problem with Tony's passport in any case. Let me have a look.

That should be a rather sheepless round.
I toyed with a country lock for any failed picks. But decided the poor beleaguered managers needed some respite.

Can we barter away a couple sheep in this round too? ԅ(≖‿≖ԅ)
