It's been at least 24 hours since someone made a loan bid for Tom Cleverley... who would like to right this wrong? Who knows, maybe Zarlak is in a generous mood...

I do have the quota for another loan midfielder, and I do really, really, really need an 86 rated CM  so I'll have a go. Will most likely fail like usual.

Does anyone else always chuckle when they read the line "Realistic and sophisticated transfer market" on the homepage?!

I've been playing with Rosenborg in a gold world and it's really hard to buy quality players because all clubs in the world are managed by humans.

I would love to take that challenge, but to pay for a game which is actually a distraction, is not my thing.

Anyways, what's your squad like in that setup?

Zarlak if you want to stop loan bids why not just go to Cleverley's profile and change his Transfer Status to "Unavailable" and that will stop both loan bids and transfer bids.

I wouldn't say that is reflective of a realistic transfer market, rather that people are tight, stingy bastards.

A game really should only boast a "realistic transfer market" if it's own A.I facilitates one, otherwise it's making a claim that is soley reliant on user behaviour... in my opinion at least!

Sure was. Oh well, onto the next target.

AN, you have mail!

Ah, the less known sequel to the Meg Ryan classic.

A loan offer for Airton you say?? Ignoring for a moment the reaction of my loyal fans if I were to loan out a player to our biggest rival, he is my first choice back-up for DM (he got 30 minutes of game time at the weekend) so the answer is a resounding no.

People are scouting?

Ah, can't be arsed for the time being.

Some people are just going on the game forum on which it's pretty much outlined; to win the game sign X, Y and Z.

It seems a bit cheap to me, I don't see the point of playing that way; very little in the way of atmosphere or satisfaction.

I didn't even realise there was a game forum.

To be honset, I've not really payed much thought into who will go up or who will go down. I'll probably get fecked for it in a few weeks, but meh...

Does anyone have an 84-85 rated+ CM they wouldn't mind loaning out?

I'm a new player in a world that has been going on for years. My top players are rated 85.

I went in for the challenge.

You don't have to put much thought into it if you read the forum either, other people put the thought in so you don't have to. It's basically like playing a game with a walkthrough; if that sounds like an interesting challenge, as it seems to for Trionz et al, then go for it.

Don't you find it boring using the forums to find players? I've used google for all my scouting.

The player I bid on is well known at this stage though. I use a website aswell that collects data of tons of players in real life, and I just see who is getting minutes on the pitch and performing well. I only use the forums for tactic advice at this stage. TR is doing the same as me with a website he likes. It is the best way to do it.

People in the foruns can't predict the future though.

I'm taking the go to teams known for having good young players. Sorting by age. Googling players.

Nah, frankly, I don't care enough to be browsing another internet forum. If I want to find out something about a target, I'll use Wikipedia or what I already know due to FM.

Heeeyyyy.
That is not the case with me.
I earned all on my own.
I suggested that forum, so those who can't spend hours on net can have some help, else they will soon be bored.

And sometimes, it is not possible to google every new prospect.
Players like Jack Jebb don't even have a wiki page. Such knowledge comes only when you are the fan of that club.
That forum is a hub of fans of clubs around the world and only through that forum, people can come to know about players like Kovacic.

True.
Look at Santon, Pedro Leon, Zuculini, Jeffren Suarez and loads of talent, who grab attention of everyone but fail to reach heights really early.

The game is not just about buying players, but also to judge the potential of players & sell them at right time.

I read about Kovacic elsewhere but you'd got to him first.

I just don't think it's a very interesting or worthy tactic to be using a forum dedicated to the game on which people discuss with a degree of certainty which players are set to increase their ratings and which not.

There are many ways of finding out about little-known players without having to resort to going on the game forum and opening a thread entitled 'How to win the game'. Just google a player's name and you usually get a few articles written about him and some stats etc.

You lot seem to be taking this a little too seriously with all this scouting and forum stuff? I'm only going by who I know through real life and FM.

Thing is, we all know the same shit :D you gotta think outside the box to look for players who wont be jumped on by others. I go to a website, look around at articles and click on leagues to see who is in a good vein of form and decide to bid or shortlist. I'm starting to not shortlist players now though, the "Int" tab next to a players name in the squad is a giveaway for talent :D

being totally reliant on that forum is of course like a walk-through.
It is a good place however to confirm whether a player you are interested in or own is going to rise or drop, so you can be extra sure about him.
But when it comes to new young players, even that forum is not helpful.
It is however helpful in being aware of any player which you really really can't find on net.

to google a player, you need to know his name and i doubt many of us would have known about Modric before he played for Croatia.
Only TheReligion from this setup was aware of Adam Maher, when he placed a bid and he didn't read it from forum(i guess).

I think you can say, Top clubs shouldn't use that forum but for smaller clubs, you can't expect us to scout 20 young promising players, within our miny budget where we have to make sure whatever players we have googled out are sure to rise enough to get us through.
That is very tough, i tell you.

Next way to scout player is to take all top clubs and check the appearance of each player, but it is extremely disappointing to see that all the players of Nicosa who played in CL this season, were above 30.

Another way of quick scouting is annual listing of 'young player to look out in 2012' list but not all youngsters make the grade.

Another way is to check forums/youth blogs, which again is tiring and often biased & based on hope.

No way is foolproof.
Welbeck debuted for United like 4 years ago and was listed 75.
then rose to 78 after 4months.
then stayed there for a year.
then got loaned to Sunderland and then rose to 85.
Next rise 87.
Half a season as starter for United and a rise to 88/89.
and now finally he will hit 90.
But that took 4years.

Trust me, that forum can only make you aware & best give you money makers, so you can progress.
And you are observing that it is helping now, but another 2-3months, it will become redundant and as new season starts, the best scout gets the best young prospect.
