Gaming The SM RedCafe League

I see your point and that's fine, I just think (from the way I see it) that cash only deals make sense. I NEVER trade players in a deal anymore because when you sell a player you get more for them, so I always sell before I buy, and the extra money comes in very handy for us lower league clubs. I also never bid more than the player is worth. I simply can't afford to. I also can't afford to buy players for more than they are worth for them to only depreciate in value even more. It would just cripple my club, and I am sure most lower league clubs think exactly the same as that, and follow the same formula/rule.

Look at the lower divisions players, very few have young players with high ratings, we just can't afford them, we need players rated 89 and above, so can't afford to have a decent 86 or 87 in our club who is young and costs decent money. Hence why our leagues are filled with old players whose ratings drop a lot and are close to retirement, it's the only way we can get players with high ratings of 90 or above. I've sacrificed having players 90 or 91 and above for slightly younger 88 and 89 rated in the hope they will rise or keep their value.

That's why some of the recent deals have miffed me a little, like the 31 year old midfielder who was worth £10m and just went for £20m, because there's no way anyone else in a lower league would be able to afford him and at £10.5m he is a good buy for a smaller club. If top clubs keep overpaying THAT MUCH then it will force us smaller clubs completely out the game.
What I said stands even for bidding ad much as the player is worth. If a lower league club doesn't have the cash, he is forced to sell without knowing whether he'll get the player. That screws them up.

Yeah, look above your post  Tis ok, I haven't been awake long and just started posting like a madman. Being bed-ridden fecking sucks. I'm going stir-crazy. Need to do something else other than spend all my time on here.
Clash of clans.

Feck it, he's on the WUM again. DOH! Should have known. RS Is bored.

Congrats, you got me. Cnut!

No i'm being serious. I'm finding the whole game at the moment incredibly boring, that's why Ando left, it's why MJJ is on the verge of leaving and why I am only staying on because of Redmanager.

Yeah, I just don't get why people would do that, so can't imagine that scenario, but fair enough.

It won't get interesting by either of the 2 proposals.

Fair enough, but if you implement the transfer window I will be off, and I'm sure many others will too. That's a stupid idea and I can't see how it would make the game more interesting at all, it would only ruin it for lower league clubs. Why don't you go back to a lower league and start from scratch? After all, club building is the essence of the game. I can definitely see me getting bored if I took my club as far as you have. Unless you can't be arsed to do that all over again, then I really think there's little that can be done.

Transfer Windows would Varun. It would require more micro managing and more skill, it would result in (if we say had it last for 4 Turns) 2 weeks of intense transfer battles. Then boom, calm again until the next one.

As I said in my example to Damien, all clubs on squad cap capacity would be screwed, as all other clubs would be able to have a free 12 hours of signing players when the window opens. It gives the advantage to the smaller clubs and helps further spread talent across the divisions.

Watch it get implemented now, and many flags getting put up around the forum.

Nah, I just think the smaller clubs haven't thought it through properly and don't see the benefits. The only disadvantage is that it might get boring when the windows shut.

But then when the window opens it would be flipping awesome and chaotic. It's a bit like how it was when the gameworld first started and there was a huge fight for players with bids being chucked everywhere. That was great fun.

And you said you feel sorry for the less active clubs

Only people it would help is bigger clubs with spare cash. Not the smaller ones. It's much easier to free up couple of spaces than to do deals when the time is limited and you don't have resources especially as you can't free them in advance as you don't know whether you can get what you want. It'd also mean you have absolutely nothing to do when the window is shut besides scouting for deals you'd do 4 months later, something I don't see many people caring about. It restricts the biggest fun element of the game, transfers.

Ok answer this then.

1. A new player gets added like PAIK did the other day. A promising world beater and only I saw him and Herrera who was on his limit. I got him. If it was a window then everyone would have seen him and be in for him when the window opens and the chances of me getting him are 0.

2. You and I discussed squad rotation and money making for smaller clubs yesterday. You implement a transfer window and that ability goes out of the window, doesn't it? I started last season and by the end of it I had bought 80 players and sold 57 I think. I completely changed my starting 11 and I think I only have 3 players left in my team that I started the last season with. Yet I improved on many from 88 to 89, lowered the age of a few AND increased my squad value by around £15 odd million. That might not be much to you, but when your squad was only worth £115m in the first place, it's a big difference. You stop the ability to do that, and I can't see how it would benefit the small clubs at all.

I digress, I really do think you need to take on a small club in a lower league RS. You are missing the finer elements of the game, building a team. You have done remarkably with Forest, and everything you say you are missing is what the rest of us with shite teams and squads enjoy. You need to go back and start again.

1. Tough shit. Just because you spot them first and check the player database every day doesn't mean you should be able to pick up every player. Do you think thats fair for those who don't? Or do you guys just want the game to end up being those that obsess over it are the ones that get all the rewards? The whole reason we implemented squad caps was to punish the players and try and make the game fairer for everyone else. Mission accomplished and this would help that yet further.

2. You can still do that langster, 2 transfer windows a season that lasts for say 5 turns. That means when you sign the players in Window 1, by the time it comes round to Window 2 the TB's would be over and you can sell/sign again. All it stops you from doing is drip selling.

Or quit for good. I prefer that option.

GS is sulking because he knows this will stop him from buying up all the top talent so he's in a sulk. I remember others doing the same when Squad Caps were implemented (something I pushed for) and something that everyone agrees improved the game.

What do I know though eh? I'm obviously "out of touch", give me a break langster.

Why not?

Knowing when the windows open and when they are actually free are 2 different things. Sorry, you are doing this for your own amusement

You are jealous of me

You get most, if you look at those bidding its always the same clubs.

It's the same reason why we implemented squad caps, it helps even the playing field.

It will be you keep ignoring/not reading/misunderstanding my point. Well argued.

Nope i'm not, if you know the window opens on a particular day they'd log on and no i'm not. I'm trying to make the game more competitive and this would help matters. Sorry, I think you're just trying to protect your own self interests because you know a Transfer Window would stop you from taking up all the best prospects. ;)

Where did I say that? Was just trying to help and give advice, if I came across as patronising or condescending that wasn't my intention, and I apologise. It just seems you miss the fun in building a team and everything you are moaning about is what everyone else seems to enjoy. You have reached the top with Forest and it's not fun anymore, because you can't achieve anymore with them.

After you come off your period you will probably regret it. Or not. I dunno.

Make whatever changes you like, it's not up to me. I was just giving my opinion.

So you appologise... then say i'm on a period... wow.

I seriously think you've made your mind up without actually thinking/listening/reading to anything i'm writing. You're doing a classic brewlio m'afraid langster and I don't have any time for those wankers.

I apologies for appearing condescending/patronising. The period thing was obviously a joke, as you are obviously upset or annoyed.

Wanker. Got it.

Out.

Calma.

Anywho, contemplating selling some good talents as i seem to have stocked up in a few positions. At a point now when even my "risers for profit" are good prospects that would do well at lower div sides.

I've made my mind up on 2 out of the 3 in question. Tough letting them go though, particularly the 3rd..

Have I read it correctly? Sane gone from Geordieland??

You are my Sane, my Leroy Sane, you made me happy, when skies were greeeeyyyy.... :(
